    • But the song of Leonard Cohen was NOT composed (text & music) with that goal... it is a Jewish song with which Leonard Cohen expresses his Jewish soul (neshama). I find it quite disturbing that (again) something what belongs to the Jewish cultural-religious heritage is molded into someting Islamic.   • Leonard Cohen was from Montreal. This song makes me so so proud to be Canadian. The Canada I envision is the last stop on the underground railroad, infinitely welcoming to all, not perfect but we're working on it, and the true North Strong and Free.
