    • Well they're definitely not shooting as much artillery as they use to, but that doesn't mean they're running out of ammo. However they are running relatively low on vehicles which is why they're attacking with increasingly fewer armored vehicles and taking many more casualties.

    • @@UzumakiNaruto_ Bro everybody is attacking with fewer vehicles because there are drones and mines everywhere plus accurate artillery, and accurate ATGMs.

      @LutherusPXCs@LutherusPXCsАй бұрын
    • @@LutherusPXCs Sure that's partly the reason, but the fact is Russia is burning through its Cold War era stock of armored vehicles and they can't keep the rate of loss going on forever. Its why their attacks these days are so costly and are moving forward so slowly. Even if they could achieve a breakthrough in the Ukrainian lines, it seems unlikely that they'd be able to exploit it in any large way. If the west weren't such pansies they'd be sending the Ukrainians a ton more supplies and weapons and stop the Russians for good from moving forward and even push them back.

  • Ukrain is not defended the same way Isreal is because of the long time work of the Isreal lobby...what your seeing in terms of American military support to Isreal is the direct result of decades of successful lobbying on Isreal's behalf.

    @larrywirsig2120@larrywirsig2120Ай бұрын
    • Not just lobbying but donations. AIPAC in particular has donated millions to Congressmen and Senators on both sides. I think it was Democracy Now that showed the list and how much they had received. Just six including Bernie Sanders hadn’t taken any money off them. Same in UK. Tories have several big donors with Israeli influence and Labours biggest donor (£5M) Sunak has investments there. Rather explains the disparity and why both out parties are being less than critical of Israel.

  • The reasons that fighter jets from allies shot down drones over Israel but not Ukraine are very simple as I see it. Israel is very small and allied jets can operate in Mediterranean, Israeli, and Jordanian airspace to shoot down drones. Most importantly, there is NO ENEMY AIR FORCE when these allied jets go into action. There's really not even enemy air defense. In Ukraine all of these conditions are the opposite. The suggestion that they shoot down drones fired from Crimea from Black Sea airspace is closest to reality, but is still wildly reckless and likely to lead to direct air combat. It would mean direct involvement of NATO forces in the battlefield.

  • This war was over 2 years ago. Ukraine never had any realistic chance of anything resembling a win in this conflict the day that US said no they won't send their troops in to help. Despite all of the US promises to send help Ukraine was hung out to dry right from the start. All those dead, an area larger than the UK fone forever, a ruined economy that will take a century to recover, and all for nothing. Just a stupid, meaningless, pointless waste.

  • ...''Betrayal'' was exactly the correct word Francis. It truly makes me think why Ukraine would consider joining NATO. It's moot anyway because the west only wants Ukraine to contain Russia and NOT defeat it. So as long as Ukraine is in a hot or frozen conflict, NATO accession is all but impossible.

    @philiplbrown@philiplbrownАй бұрын
    • They will never join NATO. They will be left a rump state. The conflict is done bar the shouting. There is no longer even the ability to freeze it. The sooner sanity gets back in the room and diplomacy (that would've ended this almost as soon as it went hot) is resumed the better.

  • I’m not sure Francis. A moment of peace could be in Ukraine’s favor. Their troops need a break. Few of them are dying, so a pause could be physical and mentally useful. IF an aid package come through, the timing is good for the Ukrainians to re-stock and train.
