At 3:10ish it looks like a mouse runs across the floor on the lane behind haha
and 3:48 ahha
and 4:40 @@robertayres2473
It was a mouse
Yea I thought I saw a mouse 🐁 but then again it’s a bowling alley
i just saw it myself and straight to the comments.
The mouse has made an apperence again at 3:10. Lol
I thought that was a joke, there is literally a mouse running around lol Hes there again at 3:49
Mouse has appeared in a previous vid
The laughs behind when he misses lmao 😂😂
The bowling alley has mice! 🐀🐀🐀
This has been one of the best spare shooting videos I've seen. Thank you Franko and JR Pro Shop this was so helpful. The chuckles were priceless! I use my strike ball for my spares and just flatten my hand with a touch more speed. Basically because I'm too cheap.
I saw the mice twice. He is stealing the scene.
Y’all got mice in the bowling alley 😳😂
That’s not the first time I’ve seen rats in their videos. Haha
@@rbd6661you’re kidding?
Dawg me and brother just looked at each other like “WHAT THE FUCK” 🤣🤣
The matchup we all want: Franky vs Mitch, highest score with no strikes wins, splits count for double points. Easy money 👀 great vid as always y’all!
Maybe it’s time for a pet cat, ey?
...an "alley cat" you might say.
@@radsprack Nice. High flush, sir.
Frankie must be pretty good at his spares, he even had a mouse/rat stop by to get some pointers. @ about 3:11 the rat back off the approach and was listen to him to speak about. Does the little guy get a ball that he can throw? Seems like he hung out a bit.
Plastic for everything on the right side and reactive on the left side or when i miss the headpin to the right either leaving the 124, 1247, or 1248.
This is one the best videos on spare i've seen on any site.Thank you !! The laughs make it real and fun!
My spare is a Brunswick Axis. Ooooold plastic ball. it had about a 20 year break from bowling so it still works 😁
Wow! And that's why he's a professional! I use a plastic spare ball!
I always love watching and listening to Frankie's technical videos; btw I use urethane for my spares
Mouse on the floor lol
This is one of the best videos on spare shooting I’ve watched!! Can’t wait to try on my splits! I use a T Zone on spares on right and strike ball on spares on left .
As someone who primarily uses a reactive ball to shoot my spares, I practiced for a very long time at flattening my wrist. While I do have a spare ball and several urethane balls, I do really want to try shooting my spares with a urethane, and not just a urethane covered spare ball (Storm Mix)
I use a polyurethane ball. Works like a charm and when the pattern gets real dry, I also use it for a strike ball
I use a plastic ball for most of my spares , sometimes, depending on the lane condition, I’ll use either urethane or resin at my spares (left side)
I feel like the 2-10 is a makeable for tour guys.
Great vid!
There is the rat again running back at 3:49. 😂😂🎉🎉 he’s having a blast. Get a Tom Cat!!!!
This is a fantastic video. I've got my single-pin spare targets pretty consistently worked out but this is a great primer on where to think about shooting for these more complex ones. I will definitely work some of this targeting into my next spare shooting practice session.
It also helps to be one of the most accurate bowlers on the planet
Really great video! Thank you Frankie.
I have the oringinal Game Breaker which came out 2007. The cover is not strong when it was new, and make a great spare ball for me.
I usually miss spares with a Columbia Blue dot
Strike ball at spares. Not entirely flat release but I have enough ball speed to Lee it from hooking
Went to plastic ball this year. It has really helped. Thanks for a great video. Loved the discussion of strategy as well as the execution.
DA RAT
I use a Storm Mix urethane for my spares. I just need more reps to improve my accuracy.
For spares, I use Urethane. Before I would use my regular ball to attempt spares by really flattening my shot, but then I learned more, and Urethane is dual purpose, so no reason not to.
Awesome vid guys. Great perspective on split shooting. Thanks for sharing
I have a very light weight Columbia White Dot (plastic ball) that I use for some spares. Had the 6-7-10 just the other day and threw at the 10 pin, hard and straight across lane. It works more often than people think!
Finally got a poly spare ball, tired of flattening out. The adjustment mentally and physically for spares I would hook at usually is a work in progress but do like getting the 7 easier as a Lefty
I use a Storm MIX that is a U1S Urethane coverstock, and they hook, I do have trouble making it go straight, but if I have to, I'll throw it back up.
I use a Retro RG Spare ball for my spares. Beautiful ball. Very satisfying to smack a 5 pin with it
I use a Brunswick T-Zone for straight shooting, because it doesn't react on the lane at all the way I roll it. It also keeps me from having to worry about changing my release. That said, I don't like how it feels compared to the rest of my arsenal, so I may switch to a Mix or urethane.
Oddly enough. I’ve adapted to throwing a gb4 solid pretty straight and it’s my main spare ball in my 2 ball arsenal. If not, I’m using my teammate’s spare ball😂
One of the best spare shooting videos. I am going to work on this in the next 10 practice sessions. You increase your average by increasing those spare shots.
I use a roto grip clear tyre ball as I can't flatten my hand out being a 2 hander, although I've gotten pretty good using urethane when I want to use abit of hook and even back up bowl on splits like the 2 10
I use my wife's old urethane ball drilled to fit me. Great video, learned a lot. Next shop is the pro-shop for a new spareball Thanks.
Great video, I've been trying to figure out how to do these standing on the left side, where to put my feet and what board to target.
I use a really old urethane as my spare ball, but I think I'm going to change the way I make some of those spares. Instead of standing way right I might go to the left side especially with the 1-2-4-10 / 2-10 conversions
Best spare shooting video!
Love the video, very helpful. I just use my strike ball as my spare ball. I keep my hand flat and just have it go straight that way
Cool video talk tech bowling
Hammer Axe
My answer to your question: I use my strike ball for shooting spares with the least amount of revs and rotation. Great spare shooting, Frankie! Oh, and by the way, timestamp 3:12 - a mouse runs by @ the left of Mr. Lavoie.
This is a very useful video. Thanks
Personally I use the Roto grip spare tire ball for majority of spares. I have recently started using urethane a bit for some, as well. The spare tire, I can tell by the roll if it came off my hand properly, so it’s helped in consistency that way. Just started bowling a year ago and my average after summer league was a 159 within USBC. Currently in my league, after getting the spare tire in September, I have a 188 avg in one league, and a 191 in the other. That ball has greatly increased my accuracy by being able to get immediate feedback from the ball roll at release.
Anyone see the mouse run across the floor when he was talking about hooking at the 2nd spare
I use the RG Reto Spare Ball
Bookmarking this video
Thank you! This is great. 😊 plastic
I use a spare ball. Great vid I'll definitely use these tips
Storm mix
You might wanna check your place for mice.
3-6-9-10. Since I rarely bowl on sport shots, I typically always throw a hook at it. 9 out of 10 conversion rate this year so far.
Use a Storm Mix @14 lbs for most all spares. Considering getting the Roto Grip Charcoal ball as it looks really nice and shiny.
Am I the only one who saw the mouse?
damn Franc a sparing machine
I use mix for my spare
bro he's too good of a spare shooter
honey badger poly :) do you guys have coaching in Toronto?
Check out the mouse!!! At the 3:10 marks just on the right side of the screen just on the ball return on the lane next to Francois! LOL
Plastic , I found an old AMF coca cola ball at a garage sale and had that drilled up
For my spares I use microcell polymere. Urethane motion, but not Urethane. The Motiv Tank Yellow Jacket
2nd video I've seen with a mouse. He must be a permanent resident. 😂😂😂😂😂
Mouse in the house 🏡
Question to you guys- Saying you leave 3 4 7, do you go for the 4/7 count or go for the spare? Asking because i seen the ginger kid at the US open going for the count game 2 first block... would love to know what you guys would do at this situation or perhaps other.. Thanks btw, very informative content. Franky is awesome.
Jajajajaja great video, i use Columbia 300 WD, but i think that it's still hard for me make spares, any recomendation?, maybe another ball or another arm could be? 😂
I bowl thumb out but shoot straight at spares with a plastic ball.
I use my strike ball with my hand flattened out
Questions for Frankie and JR Pro Shop: Frankie, the urethane ball you used in this vid, the Storm IQ-U/78, has a core, compared to another common urethane spare ball, for example, the Storm Mix. Did you purposely choose a urethane ball with a dynamic core as your spare ball, rather than the Mix, or any of the "plastic" spare balls? Is there any advantage, in your opinion, to using this particular ball for your spares, other than saving space in your bag as a dual purpose, spare/short pattern, lower volume control ball? Also, could you please share a little about your wrist and hand positions when shooting spares versus strikes? It seemed that although you cupped your wrist a bit, you were definitely up the back of the ball, rolling it with much less axis rotationm to keep it straighter. I have read the view of some coaches who feel that merely using a "spare ball" isn't sufficient, if you are going to release the ball the same way you release your ball for strikes, so I would love to hear your thoughts on that. Thank you for an important and great vid, and thanks JR Pro Shop for hosting Frankie.
Plastic all the way and I try to flatten my hand as much as I can usually. I CAN use some reactive or urethane balls but that's playing with fire if they have even a bit more rotation than anticipated.
Do you hook the 2/8 and 3/9?
Huh, Im pretty ok at throwing my main ball straight but maybe I would be more accurate if I could keep my hand mote the same as my steike shot.
Maybe this is dumb, but I just don’t get why so many pros shoot spares with urethane balls. What is the thought process behind using your earliest hooking ball with the most surface on spare shots? And in cases where that’s also a urethane ball the player would use for strike shots, wouldn’t shooting spares with it gradually lane shine the ball and cause drastic shape differences due to the surface changing?
I throw plastic at my spares i'm 1 hand no thumb which makes the 10 pin pretty hard
I've been using a Storm Natural Pearl for at least a decade. I believe it would now be illegal in a PBA contest. I'll never be bowling in the PBA, but it still bugs me.
Mix is my spare ball
Roto Grip RG Spare
A really old Urathan ball
I use my virtual energy blackout
The laugh in the background makes me laugh, but I use plastic ball for spare ball
how does he shoot the 7 pin, 10pin, 7,8 and 9,10?
I use a plastic spare ball and flatten my hand to try to get my ball to travel as absolutely straight as I can.
The 3-6-9-10 is the easiest spare to pick up. I don't know why people struggle with it so much. It's all about the angles when it comes to bowling. Work on your spare game but you need to work on your straight game when it comes to spare shooting. So many times I see people hooking it at the 7 or the 10 pin when all you have to do is let your wrist flat no bend, line up straight with the pin, and throw it straight. One thing you should not be doing on most spare shots is putting any kind of hook on the ball. The straighter you can throw that ball in a straight line either down the lane or across the lane your spare game will increase.
I shoot spares with a motiv sniper
I seen a rat at 3:12, wow
Still have that mouse problem huh? This is the 3rd video I've seen with a mouse running around lmao
I just found out lol
Omg that’s nuts.
I use a plastic ball for my spares.
was that mickey?
I use plastic ball
This needs an edit! There is a rodent crawling on the floor !!!!!!! At approx 3 mins 17 secs into the video . YIKES!
3:10 WTH was crawling on the floor? Cockroach? Rat?
plastic Motiv Sniper
How about a pollyestable? And/or a plastic ball.
