Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. The game is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S on February 2, 2024.
Kill the Justice League is the fifth main installment in the Batman: Arkham series, taking place five years after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight, and the first not to feature Batman as the main protagonist, though the character still appears, posthumously voiced by Kevin Conroy in his final performance as Batman. Based on the DC Comics supervillain/anti-hero team the Suicide Squad, the game revolves around the titular team of super-criminals, who are assembled by Amanda Waller and sent to Metropolis to stop the alien invader Brainiac and save the members of the Justice League brainwashed by him.

There is a huge 😂 issue if you game has fan favourite characters Joker, Harley Quinn, Braniac,Batman,Superman and what not and the best character is King Shark (I like him he is cool)

I've had fun playing, mechanics are fun, it looks good, sounds good, but the issue is there's no depth outside of go here, shoot these guys, blow this up. That process is overall enjoyable in small doses, but I haven't been able to get into the grind.

The game would of literally be saved if we just didnt have guns unless you were playing Deadshot. Every character should have their own unique weapon so that they can just put loot mechanics behind the character based on what you were using. Like King Shark gets a magic necklace or something, or Harley has her bat. And every character having the traversal would be dope if there were no zits. Just enemies that have no weakpoints. Like getting a Legendary Boomerang or something with special abilities that are homage to other characters, like a “Scarecrow Boomerang” or something that makes enemies run in fear when hit. And then every character plays completely different

What hurts so much about this game is how EASY it would be to fix if they TRIED. They coulda reskinned Braniac's purple monsters into green and white Joker-Gas crazed mutants and been like "Joker went too far and turned this Metropolis into a wasteland. Go wipe out the maniacs so it might EVENTUALLY get reclaimed." You grind thru missions, chasing Joker all over til you finally catch him and have Waller force him into the Squad. Simple, DIFFERENT and actually would feel like they added Content to the game instead of just offering new incentives to do the same three missions over and over again

I remember reading how people got all upset when Harley killed batman. I dont know how people can get invested in these stories enough to get mad at them. In the time between Harley pulling the trigger and the bullet hitting batman, there were probably 700 new justice league canons released all with different continuities where nothing from this one matters.

I remember the content showcase having the guys going "Oh, we really had to think long and hard about how our new character would interact with the rest of the cast." and it's just like... Nothing there. He gets an introduction cutscene where he makes a sex joke, that's about it. Fucking Arkham-verse Harley Quinn has zero reaction to a new version of Joker. Truly, the narrative elements were a big consideration here!

A line in their Developer Update stood out to me: "There is plenty of new content to discover with the launch of Season 1" I though, 'Is there though?' so jumped on Steam tracking and saw the game had, indeed, hit a peak of 3,012 players! (catch me while I swoon) By the time I looked a few hours later, of course, it had dropped back to 1,478, so "plenty" was clearly an overstatement. But hey, still 4 digits! Though, given Arkham Knight was 2,323 at the time, I think we know where that 1.5k went.

Just as a clarification. The endgame missions in episode 1 do progress your fear battlepass. Anything that says "episode 1: fear" progresses it one level at a time except killing time which gives you more the longer you are in the mission

This vs Helldivers 2 are complete polar opposites on how to make a good live service game. Expensive monetisation, bland, lackluster, barely any content, ignoring the community vs (actually micro) micro transactions, filled with different content - maps, modes/missions, weapons - a clear upgrade path, engaging with the community. Just says it all really.
Helldivers 2 should have been free to play, people really love to praise that hyper repetitive game, maybe itll get some content worth playing in 6 months.

Battlepasses, premium currency in awkward sizes (term for it I forgot) FOMO armour store, repetitive content encouraging purchases. I will say they are adding more free content so that's decent but like I said I'll check back whens there's decent amount of content I dont have to pay more money for, hopefully Illuminate soon. (Before you point out you can get SC free, thats also no different to many F2P games and especially prominent in toxic mobile games. It's proven to psychologically make you feel its ok to purchase that little bit more)

So glad you posted this. Was trying to watch your livestream and it was freaking painful. I looked up the cutscenes and there's hardly anything. His animations are great and his moveset is pretty cool, but they really dropped the ball with this entire game.
if they had made another DC Universe Online game with Rocksteady with AAA modern graphics, a solid narrative and all the DC characters, they would've made a fortune and it could've been the next WoW. They could even charge players to make additional heroes / villains and people would've payed for it happily!

the +1/+2 missions are probably some finite freebie missions or they are there to jump start you but once you hit the proper grindwall level they just disappear. I would constitute them as a bait and switch mechanic, as they seem to be there sole to trick you into thinking you will be spending less time grinding only to vanish entirely.
Making the star character for a season or expansion is kinda baffling. I mean, even Avengers allowed you to play Kate Bishop, Hawkeye, Black Panther, Jane Foster, and Winter Soldier from the start of their events and DLCs.
They couldn’t put together a game with more than 10 hours of repeated content in 7 years! How the hell do people think they will be able to deliver good content on a monthly or two month basis??

I agree, where was so much potential to make the Love Quarrel of H.Q. and Joker is some secret plan. E.g. in season 2 H.Q.&Joker leave the squad and are no more available, replaced by some other super-nobodies. And players are given choice to do the escape quest or not. So many possibilities wasted.

Because I'm a contrarian by nature... if other emotes cost 1,700, then the Giggler emotes can be listed as "half off" even if they've never been offered for sale. It's a comparison of valuation of like items. Note: I don't know how much other emotes cost.
It is also standard FOMO crap that comes with gachas and live service games. They discount the item to just badly overpriced when it comes out, and then will let it go to stupidly overpriced later, with the rest of them. So yeah, they are half off... and it is done entirely for psychological manipulation to rip people off.

I literally worked at a retail store in the 2000s that did this. They would mark stuff on sale but it would only have orange sale tags with the same price as normal. Never got in trouble for it that I heard of. Times may have changed but back then it was common.
I think the only thing that could have any chance of creating another interest peak, is by announcing and introducing the Justice League as a new team of playable characters; as in, completely reworking and rebranding the whole game premise lol, what they should've done to begin with, then it might've stood some chance

You fell for the FOMO.
I just spammed the one level mission that took a minute if you knew what you were doing and when its over it spits you back out to the mission start area. Unlcoked joker in under an hour.
The fastest way to unlock Joker is to play the killing time mission, get up to incursion level 38 - 45, and extract. Once you do that, you will go up +10 levels. All you need to do is get to level 35. Should take about an hour or less, really. It's really not a crazy grind. This DLC is underwhelming. Wish there was at least like another chapter of story missions each season.
I would be INCREDIBLY surprised if it doesn’t go f2p within 3 months. Even then, I would predict its settled player count to probably sit around 4-5000 realistically. Which is enough to keep a game alive, but I still think new content would end after the first year.

As much damage as sweet baby inc does to games, I don't think they were in charge of this atrocious game! They just wrote the worst story known to mankind!
I don't think they had anything to do with the lackluster enemies, awful HUD, and embarrassing mission design though.
The elseworld missions do level up your fear level. Do the hoard style mission on the top right, I was getting about 5-6 levels a mission.
Can't go wrong with the tropical freeze soundtrack playing in the background 👌

They should’ve done a better job explaining how some of the stuff worked. A friend and I found that if you ran the new incursion missions you still gots points AND access to all of the new gear immediately so it became a little more natural than just open world missions that change drastically every time you load in
The incursion missions do give Fear levels; I matched with 3 other players and did the Horde mode-type incursion and it gave at least 3 Fear levels, sometimes 5z
Yeah im done, they didnt just ruin a Season 1 that was delayed btw but they also paywalled Joker when they promised everything would be free. Im gonna try to get a refund for false advertising.

I managed to get to the final level really quickly cause of this one mission called 'killing time' where basically its just an endless horde that gets harder and harder, you get like 7 levels in the mini battle pass thing from doing it once. So i go the joker and then realised, 'wow, that was it... i guess i can go play something else now.'

I feel like WB suits walked into the Rocksteady office and DEMANDED they make this game
I unlocked joker within ONE single hour. Fought Brainiac within one single hour. Don't rely on the map missions. Do killing time, get to mastery 30-33, and get out. It'll take you maybe 10 min to do so and you'll level up about 6 times, sometimes more each time. The ONLY returning incursion mission is Ivy's invasive species, the rest are all new (for incursion missions anyway). Incursions do contribute to fear level and is the main way to level it up. Yes, the enemies are the same purple goobers you've been fighting but the mutators are different, making them FEEL new. You will have to use different stratagies with these "new" enemies to defeat them. They are the same model yes but they are VASTLY different. At this point, Rocksteady could come out and say they're going back to the Arkham series and are giving everyone who played this game a blowjob and people would still not be happy. No matter what they say, they will receive hate. I agree they should have been more transparent as to how this would work but no matter what they said, people were going to be upset. I DO agree that the narrative of this DLC is VERY VERY lacking. You get two cutscenes and THAT'S IT. If you wanna learn more about this joker and his world, better go hump the Riddler for a while. When it comes to that shop discount, you can relate it to the emotes of the other characters (which do run about $8 per emote) This is actually a pretty good discount for a bundle of 4 emotes. I doubt anyone will really see this comment or come close to even reading all of it, but I have to end it with this. I have played all of Rocksteady's games, front to back, up and down. I have fun with this game. I have fun playing it solo and with friends. It is a fun game! It is however not perfect AT ALL! It has poor optimization on console and pc, It can get boring quite quickly for a lot of people, It has some social commentary stuff I don't much care about, and it is a bit grindy. I am not a shill for this game and I don't want to be, but the amount of hate it's getting seems a bit strong. I feel like at this point, if you don't HATE this game, you're the minority, and your opinion is completely invalid. It's just more clickworthy and popular to hate something than it is to like it. Season 1 did not save this game.....I'm still excited for season 2 and will be having fun playing it.

I think you're missing why people hate this game: Rocksteady is not a studio and DC is not an IP that deserves or needs a game that is sort of fun for a bit and the hippity hoppity is well done but the rest of the game is mid or straight up bad, especially after 7 years. This isn't what anyone wanted after Arkham Knight, everyone told them loudly and constantly what they DID want, in addition everyone told them that if they did *this* it would end in disaster, and they just didn't listen, thought they knew better, and now nobody wins. People hate this game because it's corporate ignorance coming in and peeing all over their customer base, and if you're really not a shill, you should understand why "But the hops are good!" isn't a decent rebuttal to that. They should have done what Helldivers 2 did with the Patriot Exosuit unlock; perform a unified task amongst the player base and once completed it's available for players to unlock with in-game currency. You could have played through certain missions and when 'X' amount of players complete them Joker is unlocked, simple as that. If you're gonna be a live service, at least work the gimmick to benefit you.
I think the missions not showing up is not a bug, but a way to level gate people.
It's wild how this managed to make Elseworlds boring.

It takes 35 missions to unlock joker, you can replay the kill 60 braniac missions to get it done within 2 hours.

To be honest It was a bad grind but when I did the time to kill mission where you pretty much just had to survive it made it so much easier and kinda fun, I got around 5 rank ups for lasting around 20-30 minutes. I went from rank 22 to 35 in like an hour
About sales (not trying to defend them), it could be on sale for a season because it's Joker special (dunno, I don't have game, but Genshin Impact does that when they introduce new skin)
Even the "Joker-themed" map looks bad... the big primitive shapes covered in gift-textures, that is so un-inspired, when you compare to the madness the Joker is known for in the Steelmill of Arkham City and in the dream section of Arkham Origins where he talks about his origin story.
