  • Matt the freshwater catfish we have here in the USA are exeptional eating. There are three main species, channel catfish, blue catfish, flathead catfish. They all are great table fair. The saltwater catfish we have are not the greatest of eating. The bloodline in the most catfish species makes them taste like mud from the bottom of the waterway they live in, so we just bleed the fresh caught fish out or remove the bloodline off of the fillets.

    @renebaudouin7192@renebaudouin71928 ай бұрын
    • Agreed. Was gonna say the blood line on the catfish he had basically almost covered the fillet. I could tell it was gonna taste like shit when I saw the blood line 😅

  • Great video as usual. What you might not have been told by people here in the US about catfish is that we have several different types. There is blue catfish, channel, silver, mud, flathead and they are not all created equal. Some are great tasting and some are really bad but even the good ones have a couple of tricks to make them taste good. When you clean them, and take off the skin, you have to remove all the red between the skin and meat, some of them also have a lot of fat between the skin and meat that has to be removed to taste good and some of them, no matter how you clean them will never taste good.

    @jeffpeters4497@jeffpeters44978 ай бұрын

But even though I don't eat fish, I do know there is more than one kind of catfish. I don't know how many Australia have though🤔🤷.
