This is the only keyboard with clear switches that I actually like the look of,probably because it's transparent and not translucent
It sure looks good in the light.. But in the dark, it's likely going to blind you. Especially if you turn off lights to watch a movie. Its going to be a distraction for sure.

If you are wondering why the Delete is put on standard keyboards like it is, it's that Delete and Insert are part of the cut, copy, paste and I have read that it predates using Ctrl + C, V, and X. Shift + Delete = Cut Ctrl + Insert = Copy Shift + Insert = Paste These will often work in places that have blocked pasting or copying as they don't know about them... ssssssh! It is the main way I do it but I am a longboarder.
I use shift delete in file explorer all the time but not as a 'cut' function - rather it bypasses the recycle bin as a permanent delete Would be rather awkward if I was trying to cut and then nothing was pasting as it actually got permadeleted
@@MotoCat91 It Brings up a warning before permanently deleting so it shouldn't be an issue. Besides when it comes to files, especially in explorer I just use the context menu as it is faster.
I purchased this keyboard because my old modded keeb was giving out, and I had no time to build another one. This Elf Pro went way beyond my expectations and I am 100% happy with my purchase. It's the perfect pre-modded keeb that already works and sounds well enough out of the box, for those who don't have time to build one from the bottom up.
To be fair to Red Dragon, it sounds like the issue was a design issue as opposed to a cost cutting one. They did a really good job with committing to the transparent aesthetic, so the fact it still sounds and feels like an enjoyable keyboard is impressive. If they removed gasket mounting from the marketing and specifications I think many folks would still call it a good purchase.
Or they could just change the order of the steps between when they place the gaskets and when they electroplate the plate so that the rubber isn't electroplated.
Not trying to be a nerd but, it's redragon. Idk why they named it redragon instead of red dragon
they cut cost by trying to apply the gaskets before chrome which is a manufacturing issue not design

I've been waiting for someone to review this ever since I saw it on microcenter! Thank you! I've been considering it after seeing the regular K649 and I was thinking of doing WS clear swaps on this board. But I couldn't justify spending 90$ on a board that has 0 reviews. TPR rubber seems to be much more stiff than the usual silicone gasket. So I will probably pass on this keyboard. A good comparison to this board is the YUNZII X75, I would take a look at it if you're interested in a budget transparent keyboard!
First Blood B67 is the best transparent one but it’s a little more pricey compared to this one but has good flex with an AMAZING sound and it’s just overall a super good keyboard and I think you’ll love it in fact you should make a review on it
I like the layout of the Del key as well. But dislike how the keys on the right side of the space bar are smaller than those on the left. Sometimes makes it hard to find different sized keycaps
I just got it today, I love the transparent switches
I got the one that is black smoked. There is no electroplate on this version. The gaskets are a little stiff still but there is much, much more flex in this version. I had also watched a couple teardowns before getting it so I took the chance on the smoked version and got lucky. Also when I got mine it was only $70 US.
Great video and thanks for letting us know about the problems with the keyboard. I don't know if I could use a clear keyboard for a daily use. I'm use to black, brown, ivory or white (just recently) but I am old and set in my ways (I guess after 50 years of using keyboards) lol...

I got the Shark off of Amazon that is very simular to this. It was absolutely a pain to open. But it also has gaskets and gotta say. I like my gaskets. Issue is the silicon dapaner didn’t allow the gaskets to flex so I got rid of it. Now it's great.
in order to take the plate out, you have to remove all the switches first then unscrew the pcb from the plate then you can remove the clips from the top case and the plate

What is the difference between gasket mount and bad membrane keyboard that moves when you press the keys down? Is that the same effect? Never used gasket, so I don't know. :P

Wow that's goofy that the gaskets got coated. I'm tempted to buy the normal black and yellow, non-transparent version, where I hope the plate will not have this coating on it, I assume they did that just to make it shiny in the crystal version. It's kind of a bulky plastic-y keyboard but I'm on a Redragon kick after enjoying the K631 Pro SE and I was interested that they made this gasket keyboard. I wonder if you could have chipped away at the gaskets and freed them from this coating to see if you could restore some flex. I may have to order it just out of curiousity now to see if the black version doesn't have this issue.

next time you show creak pls dont also press down on the keycaps it was very hard to hear the creaking because of the sound of the keycaps bottoming out, so maybe try pressing down on them and holding there and THEN trying to get the creak sound ? other than that excellent video

for some reason, when i first saw the keycaps i smell the scent of clear gelatin. that keyboard i think is not for me, because that keyboard might not handle abuse that my keyboards have to endure. If i would own that I would change the keycaps and switches because i dont like clear keycaps hehehe

I bought a $5 CAD gaming keyboard from the dollar store. not to use as my main or anything, bought as a joke. turns out its not that bad
A clear frame keyboard that isn't tkl but still has the END key! As an accountant, this the only thing stopping me from buying a keyboard that is less than a tkl. Edit: you'd think because our profession revolves around numbers that I'd aneed a full-sized keyboard. Maybe front end accountants do but the accounting system already cranked the numbers for those in charge of generating reports.
