Rusty Plow FORGED into a Razor Sharp Head KNIFE
I decide to forge a special form Head Knife out of huge agricultural plow. Steel used for plows is extremely strong and durable. First, I cut off a workpiece, removed rust from metal and start forging a Knife. This Knife designed to cut leather.
The metal that passes through the hammer and fire is stronger and more unique. I normalized the metal hardened and tempered it in Sand by using my secret method. The steel turned out to be very hard, its hardness was so high that even the Dull file was unable to do any damage to workpiece. The hardest part was forming wedge, I did it only by hands using grindstone or sandpaper of different grit and wet sanding, I haven't even started sharpening yet, but the edge was already like a razor! I polished the tool with wool and paste to a mirror finish, then finally sharpened the knife by using leather, believe me, the sharpness was such that it was scary to touch.
I made the handle from Stained Oak (bog oak) it is just best choice and material for any type of handle. I shaped the handle, polished it and fastened it with copper rivets which make out of copper wire, this all was soaked in linseed oil, it showed the texture of the wood and protected it. It is very beautiful Knife, it is very difficult in technical terms to make a reliable and durable tool. And of course some testing was done to show it's sharpness.

incredible work! real craftmanship right there! 😳👏
Very good! 👍👍👍👍👍
Just fantastic work and nice quiet video.
Until you started die grinding that billet I had no idea it was so thick. At about 5:32 when it drops on a board, the “thunk” sound lets you know that is a serious piece of metal. The temp test for your sand is pretty cool. It looked like there was something alive in there. Beautiful scales even before they were shaped and polished.
Beautiful! Superb finish and great shape! The bog oak is a perfect choice! I also love the location you work in! I can almost smell the air filled with nature and wood! Thanks!

Does it have to be that good? 😄😄😄
how do u slay so hard
What was the process with the hot sand? When you put the knife into the oil it was hardening, as far as I understand. Wouldn't putting it into extremely hot sand "de-harden" it back?
Good question mate, it was tempering process, steel need to "relax" after hardening to avoid crushing also it gives some flexibility
