Lyrics:
I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm 22 for a moment
And she feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live
I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way, babe.
A family on my mind
Anyone in 2024?
Still here.
Still here
Hoping to have a hundred years to live ❤
❤
Of course!
My son committed suicide at 15, this song makes me wish at 15, he would have known there was still time for him , miss you forever Matt

I’m 60 years old. I can’t listen to this song without crying. Ever. Life is so fast and fleeting….
I can't listen to this song either maybe I'm part dog or something because when all the high pitch screeching starts it physically hurts me.
62 dying wife kids times short man
Isn't it truth, This song tells it like it is people should really listen. You think you got time. Then it flies by.

Just turned 60 .Holly FUKKK Never really paid any attention to the years This one is really hard to accept for some reason.
I was 45 when this came out. Little did I know the chilling accuracy of these words, "I'm 45 for a moment, the sea is high and I'm heading into a crisis." My crisis was breast cancer. I'm 63 for a moment and looking back with gratitude on these last 17 breast-cancer-free years. Each day, each breath is a gift.
LETS GOOOOO
CONGRATS SO PROUD OF YOU
Absolutely, each day is a gift. You beat the odds, want through terrible pain and look at you now, still standing like a Boss. So many, many people never got to see 45, or 17 for that matter. You definitely received a miracle. I'll pray for you to have many more years since so many were taken from you. God has blessed you.
Amen 🙏 god bless you!
God has plans for everyone. My mom was cancer free around the same age as yours but had a cancer recurrence around May last year. The doctor said that she had at least six months left. She was a woman of faith and wanted to see he grandchildren grow up, which she eventually experienced. Sadly, she left us behind last year. Please have your annual medical check-ups done, as she has failed to do so during the Pandemic.
I was 25 when this song came out and I thought I was invincible. Now I'm 42. Savor every moment, kids. It all passes so quickly. Don't fall into routine. Challenge yourselves. And most importantly, don't be afraid to love.
Right there with you. I just turned 41.
When you say don’t fall into routine, what does that mean

This song always hits me.. My father was 99 when this came out.. he lived to be a glorious 106!! and when I would ask him, of course he said it went fast.. the 70 yrs I had with him went fast enough.. now my granddaughters ask me.. and I say it's going too fast..All we have is what the Lord gives us.. live faithful and true to Him..
I'm sorry.
I was just 2 years old when it came out, and 22 now. Every word hits me hard. I want to appreciate every moment the Lord has given me. It does go by too fast it's true 😂. Peace be to you and yours ❤

I am 76 years old. My husband - my Love - passed in 2018. This song was one of his favorites and mine. On trips we listened and sang along with this song many times. It lifted our hearts and reminded us of the numbers already lived and the numbers to come.

It hits you harder every year you come back to revisit this song.
So true.
Que verdade,falou tudo😍
😭😭😭
Then you count your years 🤣🤣
theres still time for you...
If you can somehow make it through the song without crying, reading the comments will start the tears flowing. With every passing year, this song becomes richer, and deeper in meaning. I can't believe I'll be 60 next year. I lost my father last year, man that was hard. So many good people gone over the past twenty years. But at the same time, I'm blessed with two beautiful boys and maybe I'll have grandchildren in a few years...still so much to look forward to. Not really sure how many more 'moments' I'll get. I'll be happy with 40 more healthy ones. Time to meet my grandkids, time to deepen my friendships, time to accomplish a few more of my writing goals. And maybe time for Paris...somehow never found the time to go there.
I heard this song tonight played for a friend who was celebrating her 90th birthday. Just wanted to say that my wife and I were married at 18 and 17, and we're now 71 and 70, and still married to each other. We lost a daughter six years ago to breast cancer at age 41. Never take time for granted; it passes too quickly. Love the people in your life while you can. I would also add that our faith in Jesus has carried us through many storms of life. Blessings to you all.
We never know how much time we actually have until its gone.
Blessings and love to you both also. Thank you for posting.
God bless
God bless your marriage and my condolences to your family on the loss of your daughter. My daughter carried your first child for a full nine months, only to have my sweet granddaughter's heart stop just before she could be delivered. Now 25 months later, the pain remains, but we ask each day for our Heavenly Father to keep us strong as we honor our granddaughter's memory each day. My daughter has since had a son, God bless him, and she is pregnant again, but memories are hard to erase. Each day of the pregnancy we put our hope and faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Your foundation is solid with your faith in Jesus and I wish God's blessings to you both.
No offence.. i am sure that you are american and so it is not your fault...but have faith in real people...not silly man made religions. You have enough real love to not need silly religion.
I love how this song simultaneously makes you feel old and young at exactly the same time.

The gift of salvation and eternal life is available to all who put their trust in Jesus. Seek Him with a genuine and humble heart and He will reveal His existence to you.
I don't know, you listen to a song like this and you wonder why we can't just enjoy each other more. Friends, family and strangers alike. We're here guys. It's a gift.
This song played almost incessantly as I drove over warm and beautiful mountain roads with my youngest son Daniel in the car. We both loved the song. Daniel only got 12 1/2 years. He died of sudden arrhythmic death syndrome suddenly in 2008. He truly deserved a hundred years. I can't hear the song without seeing his smile and feeling the warm breeze of those days. Thank you.
I can’t even imagine. My heart is with you.
Oh, Jane. I'm just so, so sorry. I grew up in s.West Va. & the mts. & warm summer breezes are synonymous w that beautiful region. Your post just took me back. Oh bless your heart, I know especially in today's world- 15 years feels like an eternity!? But really, you've only just begun! Just wait till you're celebrating your 50th anniversary!? Remember, these are the good ol days, enjoy them, make memories & remember, time is fleeting & life goes by quick! 100 years seems like an eternity, but those who've lived that long assure me, that one day their 17 & the next, they wake up & an entire lifetime has passed them by. Cherish each & every day!

Heard it in a store two days, and listened to it about 50 times since then. Lots of crying and thoughts of being 15, when my mom, dad, and grandma were still alive. I heard it On April 27th, which happened to be the day Mom went to Heaven 34 years ago, Now at 71, I still miss her like crazy. She only got to be a grandma for one year, but knew we were expecting our second child when the Lord called her. And we named our third child, our daughter after my Grandma and Mom, the two kindest, sweetest, and strongest ladies God ever made. I will continue playing this and cry each time. Young people, don't waste a minute, as this old timer wasted more than I care to remember. Enjoy each day the Good Lord gives you.
Wow, you nust have lost your mom when you were 37. I also lost my mom when I was 37. I'd have missed her for 34 years also by the time I'm 71. What a lugubrious parallel. Only problem is that, I don't think I can survive that long without her. She was a special mom. My condolences to you!

Truly said. I'm 22 myself. It's not too late for you. Be a good person and good things will come to you, that's the most important thing.
I wished a couple of times that i could go back to being 15 and change my decisions. Now i’m 35 and struggling. Don’t waste what you have right now, you’re still too young. Don’t go stupid. Coz i have..
I first listened to this song when i was 16, now at 36 this just hits different. ''A family on my mind'', tears fell and i didnt even try to stop it.
My son 22 yrs old passed away 18 months ago. He had so much time left here on this earth to grow and be able to have a family . I miss you so much son but we will be celebrating our 99 yrs soon. I love you.
I do understand how we feel cheated when our sons could not remain to finish the life we had hoped for them here on Earth. I truly believe that there is much in Heaven to which to look forward !
Sorry for your loss ma'am..I lost a child also..I understand what your going through..just always know God loves you..and your son will be waiting for you in heaven..
Sorry for your loss, Sherri.
I am so sorry for your loss.
@@janeofvirginia153 Not only in heaven but one day all of creation will be restored to God on a new earth forever. Jesus truly is the savior of the world. The early church proclaimed this, it is the real good news. The bible in its original language shows this. Look into the literal concordant versions for a very accurate translation. We are in eon 3 now. Eon 4 will be the millennial reign of Christ and eon 5 will be the new heavens and earth. At the end of eon 5 is the consummation when death is abolished and God is all in all.
I was 15 when this song came out. I've been using it to track where my life is headed and how far i've come. I'm 32 now and doing my best to live life to the fullest and savor every moment. I'm getting married with a family on my mind. Hopefully I'll make it all the way to 99. If I do, I'm leaving another comment here.
Dude! Me too. At 15 I'd blast this every day. I'm finally ready to live life to the fullest and go after my goals full steam ahead.
Someone @ me in 68 years
Till we met at 99 bro 🙏
Stay away from that toxic vaccine or you'll never make it.
That sounds like an awesome idea. I hope you make it!
One of those songs you can't sing without crying. Beautiful lyrics.
Here 5-11-2024, everyone knows me as XxCountry, I’m 51 with 30% lung, lost a utube friend yesterday, a creator, Heels 👠 in the air, she was amazing! With 35% lung… imma have knee surgery ( hopefully) June 3rd… If something happens and my family comes across this, I love y’all with all my heart and soul! Don’t be sad either! I’m with Jesus 🙂
when are we going to have this kind of music again?
When we start demanding it. Society is so complacent with what is on the radio these days, that I think the days of this type of music is gone.
I totally agree. Songs like these are literally all I have on my phone. I love these kinds of songs that talk about something inspirational/important. Not stuff that talk about relationships or sex.
That is a big question. I hope one day i could make a song like this. Not like the one's i already have on my channel. Its not easy to create such a beautiful message in songs. Not easy on my own either. But i hope that one day, This music will make a comeback.
LoL i know right. I love this kind of music! now its Katy Perry or 2 chainz or something stupid. johnny Smith *****
We have music like this, you're just not looking for it.
I was 15 when I first thought of ending my life. I'm now 23 years old and still holding on. [EDIT 10/11/20] I'm 24 now and I've started practicing as a therapist and actively advocating for the importance of mental health. Couldn't have gotten to where I am now without my 15-year-old self deciding that she had so much more to live for.
You are loved
And not alone 🌹
It hasn't gotten any easier, but thank you so much.
Keep on going!!
Life is beautiful ain't it??😊
I work in a nursing home and one of my patients is 100. Everyday I see her she reminds me of this song and the fact that every single day is a gift and never take your time for granted.
I'm 55 I lost my mom a couple years ago and she was 88 and said enjoy life son and don't get old.
1990s-early (early!) 2000s was such a great time for music
Indeed it was! I love the 80's genres, too. It reminds me of so many great times.

I’m 75 so I’m 3/4s there. Still a lot to do and see. Don’t sweat the small stuff. If you’ve got your health , you’ve got everything. Take care of yourselves and adopt a healthy lifestyle and you’ll make it! Thank God for every day because every day is not promised.
I was told this nor to bust your bubble but middle ages isn't 50 its 35 most people don't make it as long as u or I have very few make it to 100 so we have to be blessed we made it to here
Came for the song. Stayed for the comments. Love you all.
My Dad passed away at 93 and I had this played with a video of his life at his memorial service. I don't think there was a dry in the chapel. Still hard for me to listen to without tearing up. Thanks for such a powerful song.
Beautiful ❤️
May he rest in peace, God bless
i love that.. i also like “remember when “… ❤
I'm 81. Every time I hear this song I think about writing a few more verses for it. 75 is such a monumental age. They say that if you live to be 75 you have at least 10 more years. I say yikes - is that all? I'm shooting for "a hundred".
Life is like rewinding the old VHS tapes...starts slowly, then rapidly increases in speed till near the end, then Poof...it's done. Do all the good to others you can, love all who you can. Father Time, undefeated.
I hope you get to 100 with good health and a sound mind
Go for it! 105!
My dad was 79 with other health problems. He got covid and died he didn't make it to his 80th birthday. He would have been 83 this year
That beautiful, you got it. You'll make it to 100 😁
We played this song at my grandma's memorial, she was 3 weeks into her 99th year, she was "99 for a moment." No matter how many times I hear this song I cry. It's all the beauty and all all the loss of life together.
It doesn't mater if it was for a moment it matters of how long she got to be with you and how long she lived
F
And you should cry. Memories will bring us joy and pain, but the Joy will always win the day. Remember her. Her backed bread, her Italian Tacos, and everything else she was. Okay Italian tacos, was what I called my Grandma's Tacos but she was Scottish. In retrospect they were more street taco then most street tacos I have ever had... Miss you Grandma...
I cry 😭 every time.
What puts my mind at ease....all of us who come to Earth and have our Earthly Journey...no matter the length...once it is completed...we return Home...then...when one of The Greatest Events in The History of Everything Occurs.....The Wonderful Resurrection...why we get to resume our Earthly Journey....forever and always...so we all get more...than 100 years to live.
You find this song stunning from day one, but as you get older the lyrics become more beautiful and they make more sense to you. Just one of the most beautiful songs ever.
He's gotta be the least recognized singer-songwriter of this generation.
The song's intro really always get me.
I was 11 when this song came out in 2003. I'm now 28, a decade passing since I graduated high school. I'm blown away by how slow and fast time seems to fly by at the same time.
I was 2 when it came out, I’m 19 now, I miss the days where everything was normal, no pandemic, no fear, no riots...
That’s true
It gets faster
I was 16 when this song came out, now at 33 i miss the good days of the 90's and 00's when the world was so much better places. These days it seems like not being able to wake out of a bad nightmare.
Welcome to adulthood my friend, im 32 with a wife and 3 kids,,,, seems like yesterday I was graduating H.S. and moving on to my next chapter... the military.... would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Everyone has said it, time seems to go both slow and fast at the same time.
I turned 70 this year and I still hope to meet the love if my life because I don’t think I have yet. I don’t feel young - but I also don’t know why I’m supposed to feel old. I’m not waiting though, doing insane travelling on my own. I don’t want more regrets. I don’t wait for companions or approval. Within my modest means I’m living a big life. I’m blessed.
Hello, how are you doing it's nice meeting you here
Aww Katherine, just read this, hope you lived happily ever after!
I loved reading this comment
Sitting here smiling at your message! Way to go🎉
Jesus loves you and wants you to follow Him ❤ He is the way, the truth, and the life. I was an atheist for years until I had a supernatural encounter with Jesus that profoundly changed my life. The gift of salvation and eternal life is available to all who put their trust in Jesus. Seek Him with a genuine and humble heart and He will reveal His existence to you.
How someone so young could write a song like this that speaks to all who hear it. Amazing!
Yesterday, it seemed like I was twenty. Today I am weeks from being sixty. Life is fleeting, so cherish every moment you have.
This song has made me cry since I first learned the words to it. I'm 41 now.. don't want to get any older.
Reverse cougar alert
United States of America I have no problem with that
I feel the same way. I turned 20 years old in July this year and I was asked if I felt old. I said "No, I don't feel old". The next day I woke up and I said to myself, "I feel old".
You and many others aren't alone. I finished high school in 2015 and in December a few months later I sat in my room alone sobbing to myself because everything and everyone I came to know were now (for the most part) gone. A few I still hear of and see, but everything has changed.
I am 64, just now falling in love with the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with. Take advantage of the time you have left! I am!
I was 15 when this song came out, had my first love/worst heartbreak at 22, now I'm 33 married with a kid on the way. This song feels like the anthem of my life.
I was 17 when the single debuted in late 2003, and getting ready to turn 18 when the full album came out in early 2004; I was in high school and wondering where life would lead me. Now I’m 36 years old, married with 1 child. I remember thinking the song was beautiful then, and now 18 years later and I still do. It just hits differently as you get older and can truly relate to the fast passage of time. :/
same, it hits so real at 30
Im the same age :) im married with two kids
My son was 16 when this came out, he’s now 34 and kid on the way. Wedding this weekend and playing this song for our dance. 🥰 going to cry a lot
@@paddleduck5328 congratulations for you and your family!
To everyone here, time flies, but I'm happy we all share this one special mutual feeling about life together. I'll see you all again every year until my years are gone. To those that see this comment and are still here and for those that we have lost, live until we are no longer able to do so.
We only got -hundred yeas to live.
This is one of a couple songs I like to come back to every so often and look at the most recent comments.
Wow. I'm 63 years old and this song always makes me think about my 34 year old daughter ❤ Remember the moment that she was born and can't believe how in the blink of an eye my baby has become a grown woman 😢 Never heard a song that truly makes you realize how time quickly slips away. Live each day like it's your last kids ❤
God bless
I'm almost to 67, and I know it will be gone quickly. I can still "feel" 15, and 22, and 33, and 45, and half time at 50. It's a mural, isn't it? So thankful that my true eternity with Jesus awaits after this earthly life. God is good.
Me too...❤
A close friend got 61 years and 1/2 month. His 61st birthday was on 2-22-22 He passed away almost 7 full days ago. 6:35 P.M. EST
@@carriebaker5161 My condolences to you. It's so very hard to lose our loved ones here. May God comfort you. 🙏
Yes, a mural...what a lovely way to describe it Dee. Every so often in this whirlwind called life, something catches our eye or ear and nudges us to stop, think, reminisce and look forward with a bit more clarity. John's legacy song here always does that for me, and now, so does your ethereal comment.
🙏❤🙏
The 22 year old version of him in this video is my good friend, Matthew. Still a great piano player.
I'll be 24 this year. This was my high school's class song. I can't believe that I have been out of high for six years. Even crazier that I will have been out of college for 2 years this December. It all feels like it happened yesterday. Life goes by fast - make sure you take the time to appreciate it.
Dude wrote a timeless song
ironically about time
Amazing how he was able to sing all that without bawling. Heard this today on the radio while receiving radiation for a cancer diagnosis, while my mother states away recieves radiation too (as we were diagnosed at the same time). It was hard to remain still, to say the least. I'm grateful for everything I still have, including the time I have now with her. Don't let the years slip past you. I 🤍 you mom, and I'll see you soon. Let's aim for 100.
May God bless you and your family. Jesus truly Loves You!
May God bless you and your family. Jesus truly Loves You!

Sending you and your family love, peace and courage ❤️
You are healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ amen
This song is so beautiful, Encourages me to live and not fret! Looking forward to heaven w Christ!

This song makes you realize if you follow a life of comfortable routine, years will fly by and you will question what have you done with your time? Live your life to the fullest! I am learning at 25 (almost 26) how fast time flew by when I didn’t pay attention and got comfortable doing the same thing over and over. My parents warned me the older you get, the faster time flies by and they were not kidding!
Just wait. It's trippy the moments still last forever but the years just melt away.
So mature a response. Love this. Cherish, Cherish each day. Everyday is a new day. Bless you for helping me see hope in the generations behind mine.
Very true. I am 51 and honestly, it feels like 25 was just a couple years ago I have a 27 year old daughter - and I swear, I don't feel much older than 27 myself. It is absolutely terrifying how fast the years go by if you aren't paying attention
I'm 36 and oh I so envy you. Live life, it flies by so fast. The one thing you can't buy, is time.
I'm turning 26 in 24 days, and I'm trying so hard not to fall into a depression because I sometimes think and feel as if I'm letting my life go to waste. I don't want that. I want to leave a legacy behind for my kids and their kids...But it's also a bit hard when moral support is directed at the wrong thing. Hopefully things will get better before it's all too late.
My dad died a couple days ago and I can’t stop listening to this song... I love you Papa 😔
My condolences to you. It's never easy losing a parent. My 91 yo mom died last October. May happy memories of time spent with your father remain with you. You're going to be all right.
Sorry for your loss, crying does help some might say and if you want to cry oceans, next give "Monsters" by James Blunt a listen.
Thanks y’all. I really appreciate the kindness.
My dad died about 5 months ago, he was 69, it sad and hard to lose a parent. This song makes me think of so many things and hard to place to words.
i feel you man.
Life flies life drags bye .✌🏼 A headcold , maybe a flu virus, sometimes maybe a Stubbed toe , Hot ,cold , rain , and sun , a day with your kids at the park turns to your grandkids at the park, we only have 100 years to live , so with all the bad things move forward be thankful and live it we only have 100 years . Hatred is always overcome with LOVE AND KINDNESS AND JOY , run over the hatred walk through the good times . Much love to everyone of you, from your older brother who is now much closer to is 100 years 🕊️💞
Man. I first heard this when I was 15. I'm 30 now, 3 kids, wife. If I only knew back then how accurate this song is. Really makes me feel like I haven't done enough in this life and I need to start. Man this song hits hard.

@@WWE2KUNIVERSEELITEi sung in car to my daughter as i drove her to high school one morning-
This song reminds me that I might have wasted some of my 80 years when I was careless with my life. We think we will never grow old but my teenage years were just yesterday. I remember my first kiss and how wonderful it tasted. Spend your years wisely, love a lot, be kind and generous because your life will pass like a flash a light and leave only memories of not only the good, but the bad things you had rather forget.
@glennis3 Very well said. Spread love and good deeds. Life is short, so live it to the fullest. May u have wonderful years ahead😍

ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER❤
when released in 2003, I was in Campus and got a daughter there and really had to hustle to support her, Now She's in University dong LLB as I age at 43...
I heard this on the way to the hospital when I was on my way to deliver my son a month before I turned 22. I gave birth to him on 07/20/04. Tomorrow he'll be celebrating his 18th birthday. Next month I'll be turning 40. This song brings back so many beautiful memories & moments for me. Thank you!🥰
Congratulations 🎊
Play it for him
The years was 2004 or 2007? Because this song is from 2006
@heatherpierce9123 just four years before your son’s birthday I had a son, Ryan born 7.20.2000 about 3 weeks early, his lungs not fully developed. Ryan knew my voice as he seemed to be very active every time I was around his mother. While he laid in ICU, I put my smallest finger in his little hand as he naturally grasped it, I told him I loved him. He was laying on his belly, turned his head and looked at me with his beautiful dark eyes. about 30 hours later, I decided to stay with his mother in her room. Before we even got to sleep, they called us and no parent should ever have to see someone doing CPR on an infant. They tried. They let us hold him for about 45 minutes before letting him go to holding room before the morgue picked him up for a later funeral. Yes July 20 has a significant meaning as my grandfather passed on that day to In 1986. Some may get 100 years some maybe just a few hours and none of us know what tomorrow holds and life can sure have unfair consequences, however I have the faith that I will see all that have passed before me. I to without would have been gone in December of 2019, except doctors blessed with technology are amazing at times with what they can do with your heart to keep you going. 🙏🏻
A masterpiece. A reminder of our lives and how we lived.❤
The young can never truly appreciate the gift of youth. I was the same way. Guess it'll always be thus.
The older you get, the more this song means to you, it does to me anyway.
This song makes you think deeply about life. Where you are, where you're going, the person you were, and the person you're becoming.
The song takes back the past current, and pom.
For someone at the age of 28 who's been through quite a lot of shit, I've been bawling my eyes like a kid each time revisiting this masterpiece. Still beautiful like the first time I came across it.
You’re just a kid. Enjoy the ride.
Have a listen to his song "The Riddle" - if you liked this I think you might like that too (if you don't already know it, that is). :-)
I'm right there with you. I'm 28 as well. Lost my mom my dad and my brother. I had cancer last year. Surgery went well and have been cancer free last 5 months. Visiting this song reminds me that I'm a fighter and lived through the absolutely worse times of my life.
I am 37 now, and even before I was 25 I had experienced more hell and crap in then most people see in their life. Then now, seeing and living so much more.. life can be hard, but your mind, heart and dreams is what pushes you to reach for the stars... Life is long but short.. one day you will understand that, took me many years to learn that.
My wife was 15 when we started dating. She will be 68 tomorrow…. We are married 46 years When ever I hear this song, I tear up As we only have 100 years to live
If I create a playlist for my funeral, this may be the final song...the way the piano ends with an unfinished chord feels a way of saying “I’m not with you, but I’m not done.” I’m 57. When I listen to it, I still get tears in my eyes.
Mt daughter left this earth at 21 and her mom(wife) left at 46. Time is the most precious thing we have!
Dang, Ronnie. Can't even imagine what you've gone through, bro. God bless you and may your girls R.I.P. ;-(
Watched another repeat of final Jag episode, the song still gets me real bad every friggin time. Am thinking and will always thinking of you Rosemary, my dearest mum for 51 years. So sorry i couldn't have done more.... I m still hurting a year and a half..... massive hole in my heart to be repaired. If ever. Miss you mum RIP October 2022 aged 86. So sorry i couldn't have done more. So sorry....
