But if someone sees them.. why should we embarrassed? I feel bad for girls whose moms teach them that they need to be embarrassed about their feminine products. I’m not sure where you got your info from but no school is out here teaching girls to flaunt their periods and not show modesty. Having pads out in a bathroom is the same thing as having toilet paper sitting around in eyeshot. Or is that not taboo because everyone uses it and not just women? 🫢

Grow up, having a period shouldn’t be something that people should be shamed of. I'd prefer to put only cleaning products and extra TP down there. Skincare should be kept in the most ventilated spot possible otherwise it might get funky. Maybe only put pads on one shelf of the rack and use other two for your skincare? • Lots of commenters are like “I’d never have the pads out in the open like that”, and this makes me wonder if y’all have never woken up, sprinted to the bathroom and needed to grab a pad in a hurry. I switched from disposables to cloth pads over a year ago, and I like the cloth a lot better, but I do see advantages to having pads in easy reach. (To clarify, I always kept my disposables out of sight, but if you don’t have to do that, why do it, other than moisture concerns?) PS: I highly recommend switching to cloth to anyone whose on the fence. I’ve saved a lot of money this way, since I’ve only spent $50-60 on menstrual products in the last 15 months or so. (EDIT: In case the phrasing of this part was unclear, I meant $50-60 for the entire 15 months, which averages out to $4 per month or less. With disposables, I was spending way more than $4 per month.)

    • I have some emergency disposable pads in the bathroom but my daughter and I used cloth pads. I started using them about 4 years ago and loved them. My daughter started her period about a year ago and she hated the plastic on the disposable ones, good thing I already had cloth pads for her and she loves them too.

  • I have a super small bathroom and one of the most helpful pieces of storage is a cabinet type thing with shelves. It has the right height and width to fit perfectly over top of the toilet tank. My aunt lived here before me and she put some slabs of wood underneath the legs to give it some extra height to make it work better. Maybe you could find something like that? It stinks having limited space, but there are definitely solutions!

  • Y’all so dramatic about the pad organization. It’s CLEAN and unopened, just like your toilet paper and tissue boxes. My bathroom is small so I keep my pads in the cabinet (also protection from my shower steam). When I sit down on the toilet to change, I usually grab a pad beforehand. But if you have the space, why not. It looks cute and colorful. The only reason why I’d switch the pads and facial products is bc I only use period products 1x a month while I use facial products at least everyday if not 2x per day. Frequency of usage This feminine modesty crap is conservatism/shame being rebranded to be less offensive. It still gives the same messaging ✌🏼

I display mines out in the open at home too, it’s more convenient for me to have them like that and the packing is cute. • Well many are not commenting that display of pads are wrong... they are just saying exposing then in open environment for long time ( like for month it will to finish all of them even when multiple people are using it) may lead to settlement of bacterias and other small organisms... Also theirs a odour of pads which might fade away due to exposure to open air ... just keeping them in a close box will be a good stuff for hygiene too right ?
