My wife and I were there a few years ago. There’s a train station near the Arch of Triumph that goes there. When you get there, you have two options, wait in line for a long time to buy tickets, or pay a few extra euros for a guided tour and you go right in.
There is also an elevator at the Arch de Triumph that goes under the street so you don't have to wait a long time to cross the very busy traffic. A very nice police officer told me. Guess she felt sorry for me standing there forever.
when you get off the train, just across the road, you can buy tickets from the visitors' office. This is the standard ticket, still queue to get into the gates.
It's impressive how something that was build over 300 years ago looks so spectacularly beautiful
The palace was built around 350 years ago rather 300 years ...
I vaguely remember visiting the palace about 25 years ago. But at that time I couldn't truly appreciate this stunning building both aesthetically and historically. I do aim to visit again one day and give it the proper respect it deserves.
Thanks for your interesting comment 🙏
This is the most beautiful Palace I had seen so far this is priceless
Indeed. Palace of Versailles ⚜️ >>>>> Buckingham Palace
Reggia di Caserta Versailles Buckingham Palace.
i have visited Versailles 5 times and there is nothing better than waking up at the Waldorf and looking outside towards Le Hameau as the fog lifts - back in the 18th century it must've been heaven on earth.
I was in Trianon today and I had exactly the same feeling: human made heaven. But I guess it was heaven for the people living in, and hell for the people living out!
@@crisschmidt5224 I envy you. I haven't been to France/Versailles since August 2019. I think your comment is valid but, not too unlike the world of today. Also, palaces such as Versailles created posts, positions and employment which bettered the lives of THOUSANDS of people - not just Royals. As a Canadian who lives next door to America - TRUST me, Monarchy, Constitutional Monarchy is the only form of Government which creates real equality for all people.
@@crisschmidt5224 Imagine the remorse and anguish those roman not catholic royalty are suffering now in hellfires flames . Ahhhh the horror and regret ! O why did we kill all our protestants why ?
@@malcolmscrivener8750 Well, if you are a catholic, you probably think that protestant kings probably suffer the same turmoil with the killing of their catholic subjects. Your comment works both ways. It depends on wether you are protestant, or catholic.
@@heliedecastanet1882 Very true ! Imagine where all those torturers and murderers across the ages are now . “ Vengeance is mine , saith the Lord . I will repay .” and “ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God .” and “ Our God is a consuming fire .” I thank the Lord God Almighty for choosing to save me and adopt me into His family ,as one of His children. Salvation is of the Lord . TULIP
I spent a morning here about 18 years ago. Was very crowded in prime areas like the hall of mirrors but once you go out into the grounds you have more space to yourself to explore. I'd love to revisit this masterpiece of European architecture someday as I think I'd appreciate it more at my age now.
Beautiful beautiful palace
Amazing at the amount of people it would have taken to keep build and keep a place like that. A city within itself.
Well done. I wish that the paintings, especially the arches, vaults and ceilings, were shown so we could pause the video and admire the Brilliance.
I’m from Bangladesh and I was really blessed to visit this marvellous place quite a few times ! ❤
Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thank you for this. Your video is the only tour I can afford. I wish someday I can see Versailles in person. ❤
You are so welcome!

I visited Versailles in July 2002; yes it is an incredible build!! 🤩😮 Greetings from Orange County, CA, USA.
The improvements, maintenance, fountains, and gardens are more spectacular and complete each year. It looks better today than it has in centuries. And due to the magic of electric pumps, the fountains can run all at once- a feat never accomplished before modern times.
I might be wrong but I am pretty sure that there is no electric pump in Versailles. All works as it worked at the end of the XVIIIth century : manually.
The colours of the marble are beautiful. Thank you for a very informative tour
It's beautiful,wish if I could visit.
Hope post covid you'll visit it, worth every euro.
I was there on the age of 23. I was in Paris on honeymoon with my ex husband. It is a long time ago, but I remember the wealth and the beauty of it very well.
Perhaps you were like me, too young to marry in your early 20's? I hope you find ( found) a better partner in life. I did not. Been divorced for 35 years. Anyway, I've had many good trips, Paris, Rome, London, Edinbrugh, Florence....... I've been blessed! NJ USA
WOW AMAZING Château de Versailles
Thanks for your comment!🙏
Everytime i watch this i wonder the technology they used to build such magnificence..they survived without lights..i wonder how?? I cannot imagine the world without electricity and they lived so lavishly without lights running water and the most basic things
The sculpture inside and outside is absolutely beautiful to say the least.I wish I could see it again.
What a wonderful , informative and enjoyable film...well done
Its so beautiful! This was man made 🙌
I visited Versailles many years ago, but unfortunately because of limited time, I saw a small portion of it. I was very disappointed. So I've enjoyed this video. Thank you
The best video I have seen to reflect the real touring visit to this amazing place!
It is amazing and beautiful, you can see the andles garden from the terraza, just amazing, LOVE PARIS SIMBOL OF CULTURE, GOOD MANNERS, LUXXXURY AND FASHION, If could I WILL MAKE PARÍS MY HOMETOWN
A big THANK YOU! for this complete tour and valuable information. I have visited it twice but it never ceases to amaze me how wonderful architectural treasure this palace is.

These are Truly Magnificent Buildings, I’ve been there 10 years ago, can’t wait to see them again!
Always read about it in books. Great to see it like this. Hopefully I'll be able to make this trip in person. Such great beauty.
I went there it was in 2000 year. Thank you for all details and it called my all memories of the trip.
I love Versailles..usually spend the day there when i visit Paris.take my little piquenique and my bottle of wine and have it in the garden and for those that forget to bring one there is a pub at the end of the garden.dont forget to visit the Trianons.a good time to go would be when they release the waters in the many fountains.there is always a suprise for me when i visit the garden 😘
Je sens que vous avez du savoir vivre car vous accompagnez vos picnic d'une bonne bouteille de vin. Nos amis étrangers n'ont peut être pas encore tout compris 😄....
When i visited there, it's grandeur will make you in awe. From the architecture, to its perfect symmetry garden, so magnificent. They forgot to showcase the prestige of LE PETIT TRIANON.
Thanks, I've been to Versailles several times but never got inside because of the lines. Strolling the gardens was fantastic!
Great tour, I especially like you show the plan of palace that helps to understand its architecture. THANK YOU!

Thank you for gorgeous tour
Amazing! I want to go to Versailles now.
Thank you for this wonderful visit, a very precise and sobre description. Yes Versailles is a jewel and even in this detailed video not all is shown. Far from it. The clocks (Horloges) for instance is a topic in itself. The hidden passages (Passages secrets) is another one. The history of the water pumps and aqueduc bringing an enormous quantity of water, uphill using the river force. The water plays (les jeux d'eaux), etc. To some extent, Versailles is similar to the Violet Imperial City of Yongle 3rd of the Ming dynasty in Beijing: a city with a complete administration to rule over an entire country.
Thanks for your comment, very much appreciated
Tres magnifique!!
stunning
Thank you. It’s wonderful.
Thank you, well done!
MAGNIFICENT
Good documentary. The comment a bit overwhelming as quantity of information/sec. One of the best documentary I've seen so far.
Magnificent id love to see it one day
I hope so too!
Many thanks!
Thans to you :)
thank you for this
me encanta como quisiera caminar esos salones hermosos
I read book all about it and dreams of visiting it ASAP
Ahh I want to visit Versailles not just the chapel it’s beautiful.. but I want to see at least one of their ball rooms. Also more interested in the Chateau or the architect design by Marie Antoinette.. her gowns her paintings
If you have not go to Chateau La Lande on You Tube. You can also go in person as it is a Bed and Breakfast as well.(been closed as Bed and Breakfast during Pandemic) It has a tie to King Louis the XVI He married Marie Antoinette and he asked someone from that Chateau La Lande to go to receive Marie when she arrived in France. The hx is given when you first go to the site on KZhead. They have been doing it over as there are so many rooms and Stephanie has lived ( and owned the home) there for fourteen years. It has had hundreds of years with Marquiets of France who lived in the home. It is an ongoing restoration and done with much love. It actually is very lovely. People volunteer and some work there and live her at the same time in their own areas. Just think you may well like seeing this video too? Although the Chateau of La Lande is not quite as exquisite as this one, yet it is very large and has many rooms and has been done over very well. It also has a small chapel on the property
I am "Mind Blown". It seems soo sireal! How can people be so eccentric and inventive. All the while, we sit and admire it, judge it, love it, and destroy it? I don't know what or why we are so mean to each other. This is so sad
Wow really love this. Thank you 😘
Love this, but wish the music was baroque adagios or something. The saxophone feels so out of place and is really annoying.
Or nothing which would be my choice. Totally agree. Tone is wearing
I was just coming here to the comments to say just this! Music is terrible. The commentator’s voice is great.
I thought the music was very relaxing 😭
บ้านหลังนี้สวยมากๆ

Been their would go back in a heart beat. JUST BEAUTIFUL. NEXT TRIP WILL SET UP FOR PRIVATE TOUR.
Sangat sangat indah
I'm hoping to go to all of France in 2021! Will not miss the palace!
It will worth any penny and second you expend on this experience!
18:06 to 18:13 the tapestry thats in view in-between the art pieces mentioned in the video. Does anyone know the name or anything about it. To me it's the most beautiful piece in this room. It's in the Apollo room
21:55 fun fact, the mirrors in this hall are extremely toxic, using 100lbs of mercury to produce every 10 square feet of mirror at the time.
Toxiques seulement pour ceux qui les fabriquaient Une fois posés il n'y avait plus de risques.
some art
Palace of the French king are magnificent been inside on. Tours before great times.1990 and the others castles around the areas in Europe and in Istanbul areas too.Enjoyable times.Ann Deakin WarwickUK
I got engaged in the gardens, sadly my marriage only lasted 3 years. I was only 23 at the time (25 years ago). It’s quite the place though.
Ik ben 47 jaar geleden geweest ik vond het zo mooi
Interesting
Appreciate this and the commentary included although the music seems rather odd and frankly off-putting - saxophone Muzak - at Versailles?
Miles couldn’t make it...
Yes, what about the music?! I’m certain recordings of Rameau or Charpentier are available and would be much more appropriate when discussing both the architecture and the cultural history that is Versailles. The French must be scandalized...I am, and I am an American!
These interior spaces are likely more enjoyable when experienced as they are in this film as opposed to the typical reality of borderline unbearable crowds and elbow to elbow slow moving groups. It's tough to experience frankly if you're not good with crowds and lack of exits. If I were to go back I'd simply just hop out to the back and enjoy the grounds again as they're the highlights imo. Grab one of the 30/hour golf carts and enjoy the grounds at your leisure.
I believe yours is wise advice
The backyard was something else because all these houses dillow along the side of the palace along to couriers and others so they had the whole back yard too.
Interesting 🤔

The opulence 💖💖💖
It's breathtaking! I guess no one would ever get to sit down for a meal in any of those rooms, ever! LOL You know they had to be used at some point in some of the areas. However, as it was said most is not for public viewing, so what do they do with the rest of the spaces?
Hi Gale, there is a restaurant in an upper suite of rooms. It is expensive but beautiful. There is also a small cafe where the food is limited but excellent quality. You would be surprised how much of the palace you get to see. It is huge and a two day ticket is very reasonable. They are restoring the rooms still so some you can see before restoring. This film is literally just a glimpse of what there is to see. I have been four times and still not seen it all. Go IF you can. It’s wonderful!
Keep in mind that in this entire complex there isn't a single room (as I have heard) for personal duties (like rest room/toilet) so maybe those rooms have not been cleaned up yet? LOL. But seriously, how did they manage in those days?
It's good to be the King!
Wish I can visit
I've been to Paris and visited/seen the Palace of Versailles at age 15
Even though Versailles is magnificent, one can see why this opulence led to the French Revolution! Today’s billionaires should take notice. It may not be pikes and pitchforks that does them in, but there are certainly modern day equivalents.
Rich people literaly dont owe anyone to give money lmao
I wanna know will they realize if someone moves in
Anna Haney I
Don't listen to Jimmy. Nobody would notice. Especially if you went in with period style dress and could speak 18th century French. They would just think you're part of the re-enactments. BUT I wouldn't recommend using any of the royal beds unless you don't mind being waken by tourists walking by your bedside. If I were to squat in the Palace, I would take the private quarters or servant quarters. There, nobody would know any better.
It would be interesting to know how many nobles and princes and their families actually lived there during the time of Louise 1V and Louise V1. Does anyone know?
You mean Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI (1V and V1 don't exist in Roman number). Well, there were actually about 10 000 people a day in the château, and among those 10 000, 3 000 living inside : the king, the queen, their family (Children, grandchildren, cousins, etc), servants, some aristocrats (for example Saint-Simon, Montespan, Maintenon, Duras, Richelieu, Lambesc, Lamballe, etc, etc), ministers. If you want to know, you just have to read Mémoires from these times. People are named.
SUGERENCIA: Traducir el audio a otros idiomas, entre ellos español. Muy interesante su historia pero para los que no somos angloparlantes se nos dificulta un poco entender. Gracias!!
I'm here. 🔱
BRO ID DIE TO GO THERE 💔
💖
Go see the garden first, then backtrack through the palace and you can avoid all those crowds!
Vielen Dank Spence Familien
i visited the Hall of Mirrors on a snowy April day the two of us had the place to ourselves and consumed baguettes and grape juice, it's good that this was a showplace for the State of France but what was all this decoration for when it probably caused the Revolution ?
Dear Keith, Versailles did not cause the French Revolution. Its origins are deeper. At the most, Versailles could have crystallized some resentments, but had the château not existed, the Revolution would have happened.
@@keithrichardson3942 As you can assume, I am not bilingual. So, I probably misunderstood : "What was all this decoration for, when it probably caused the Revolution". Could you tell me what you meant ? Thanks a lot 🙂
