I know this Is late and you already restarted lol, but was just going to say to go for it because I was in the exact same boat as you, and I restarted as well and now I'm soo happy with peaches as my fruit, and where I have now placed all the shops/houses! Restarting is absolutely worth it if people aren't happy with their island, so glad you did it yay!
