Then there's the other one that is still there if I can get back to it. I made a long list of all the finds I've made and was shocked at how many I've lost ..My advice if you ever find anything that is questionable stop- take your time and get exact location and samples. Also study minerals and mining and treasure symbols ,geology and hydrology every day so that when you are out exploring and find something you will know what you have . I have found so many things and not known what they were only to come across some article or information years later and then realize what I had in my hands was treasure ...

    • I wonder too. It would have been much harder without any machinery, or equipment. Everything was made by hand and hauled by animals. It would have been incredible work to do.

  • Maybe they started throwing heavy loads off the ship as it took on water to delay the sinking.

  • Some things about this story just don't make sense, what happened after the treasure was found? What was the value of it? Do they sell it? So do the family and partners now have 500 M? Alot of these important details seem to be missing..

    @samuelj2408@samuelj240829 күн бұрын
    • All those details are well documented if you look into this online you will find them. I dk why the show didn’t mention it.

    • There's a curse. I think the Atocha must bear a powerful curse. It's like the lord of Harrenhal in Game of Thrones. It is impossible not to notice when Mel Fisher found the mother lode of the Atocha, days later the terrible tragedy occurs and his son and daughter in law drown and die. Because of yet another storm.

    • Not sure if you are aware of that but you are touching on a very difficult topic that is addressed differently country by country... whether a shipwreck is to be considered an archeological site, a burial ground or a national monument. no easy answers

    • @@nenge_mboko Well, the Spanish tried to salvage these shipwrecks, WHEN THEY HAPPENED, so why should our "morals' or "beliefs" get in the way? The Hunley was an archeological treasure; confirmed a long unsolved "legend" about one of the crewmembers; gained vast knowledge about the craft and the crew were laid to rest with Military Honors.

  • SES Lord of The Constitution reporting. Diminished morale was quietly observed. No exceptions were made our work stayed steady through the dissidence.

  • I have one of the silver coins that was found on the trail to the mother load. Back then they sold them off to pay for gas and food. I also have the certificate of authenticity hand signed by the whole crew including Mel Fisher. It was found many years before they found the mother load. I’m going to bring it into the museum someday or I might even sell it.
