  • I've been watching exploring videos for years waiting to see if any of my dad's poker work showed up. Today in your video it has. My dad did the poker work designs on the toilet seats. The duck and the fox. He passed away 11 years ago.

  • I thought I wasn't going to crack this one.... but I did ;) Believed to have been built in the 14th Century. The cellar of the house was used for religious services at the time of the Reformation 1517-1555 ( or even to 1648 some sources say). It once had over 300 acres of land but it's been sold off piece meal over the years to just over 50. The last owners purchased it for £171,000 in 1985, when it was up for sale in 2020 they wanted £2.5 million. The last owners aren't dead unless they died very, very recently and they lived and worked there. Looking at photo's from the 1950's it looks as if the wall with the large chimney breast had to be more or less rebuilt in 1986. In various adverts for sales of livestock between the 1860's- 1900's it appears that shorthorn cattle and Southdown sheep were mainly kept. It still didn't have electricity in 1955. Finally, shall we have a whipround to get Ed a padded cap? And Alex I'm afraid you can't put your classic car collection in there because that's where my imaginary horses are going... sorry mate 🤣🤣

    • Good work! when a property is left like this... with dishes still on the counter etc., and so many belongings left behind it always makes me wonder what made them leave? I can picture like a medical event where an ambulance is called and they never go back, right? But who knows, still the history you did find is so interesting. Thank you so much!

    • Incredible location! I do think Eddy ought consider the padded helmet. Either in insane asylum off-white or any colour of American Football would do (j/k lol) Loved the video, mates! Still wondering whether we're on for snooker after we've drank all the Jagermeister Oh, alright. Yes, I started without yous. Pensively pondering the garage door tracks and electric opener with no garage door in sight. Hmm...who's to say any of it must make sense?! Loved the garden, Muzak room (complete w/cello, accordions & trumpet, amp no guitar??), koi pond, really loved the sauna, hot tub/Jacuzzi and pool! These people obviously knew how to be entertained. Keep those videos coming. Merci

  • Those stoneware bottles were used for either blacking or ink. The man in the photo with the hat, i think that's max miller, comedian from the music hall days, he was a bit risque for the time. The small shotgun cartridge is .410 calibre. I believe that hanging a wheatsheaf was an old custom to bring fertility.

I saw a picture my mate had that looks suspiciously like the main building frontage, Patricia Penrose acted alongside Mr Maynard on a few things, the Blue and the red badges are from the Royal Sussex County Hospital ( RSCH ) if that also helps. ? • My wife and I always enjoy watching these videos of a Sunday evening as they are much better than most of the rubbish on telly. The gentleman with the glasses (not sure if he's Ed or Ned) is much more knowledgeable about houses, antiques etc than most explorers and there's no silly 'paranormal' nonsense. It breaks my heart to see these places lying empty and going to waste on such a small, crowded island.
