I did this to my dog and he stared at me for a moment, and then made the logical leap that my bed was now his. He turned around, went to my room, jumped in my bed, and went to sleep.

Bailey used 5 different technics to try to get his mom off his bed, I'm impressed with his intelligence, they're so smart. He tried to bully and showed dominance first. Second, he tried vocalizing telling her to get off. Third, trying to pry the bed off her. Fourth, Smother mom. Fifth, win mom over with his cuteness and cuddling. I was surprised he didn't looked at dad for some help. I laughed through the whole video.

I'm not sure he was trying to pry the bed off her; it's equally possible that he hoped he could stretch it to fit them both. After all a bed made of a pile of blankets would have been extendable in that way. Equally in not sure you're wrong: it seems to be that both interpretations got what we saw

Yes, I think this family did it before by putting kittens in his bed and laughing at him. He is getting to know they tease him mercilessly about his bed. I don't think it's really wise. He is a patient, self-controlled dog, and it seems to me they are seeing how far they can push him. I hope I'm wrong.
@@stephenfennellI was thinking the exact same thing. For me it’s the length of the pranks that concerns me, at some point you could tell the poor dog is stressed, given that dogs are territorial animals. They can tease for a few seconds perhaps, but more than that the animal begins to literally think he’s losing his spot. I might be wrong.🤷🏻♂️

My wife & I, now at age 63, have our very own "Bailey-boy" 😁 called Mikey. What an absolute pleasure in our lives and loving companion. These are truly beautiful & loving dogs!!!

He pretends to be annoyed, but his tail never stops wagging! I think he's actually quite flattered that you've chosen his bed.
When my dog saw us put a matress on the floor (I don't even remember why), he started to wage his tail and played with us... I think he thought something like: "oh, now you humans understand this is the correct height a bed should have"
Just generally bear in mind that wagging tails don't automatically mean happy! ❤️

Nah the dog was legit stressing. The prank went a bit too far. A few seconds after he budged through the door perhaps, but thereafter give his bed back. Beyond that you testing the animal’s patience, and you stressing the poor animal out!

I did the same thing with my Husky, he wasn’t fazed at all.😆 I got his bed setup at the foot of my bed. While he was downstairs, I called him up to my room or should I say our room.🤣He walked in and stared at me for a few seconds. He sniffed me and said, oh well dad’s in my bed, so I’m jumping in his…and that’s what he proceeded to do.😆
Sounds about right for a husky, they are epic characters😁 I watch Sherpa and Key'ush the stunt dog on here too, highly recommend them👍

Yes, that's my husky on the profile pic, sleeping while bathing & soaked in water & soap. & I went out to ran errands for a short time. I came back & looked like he opened the gate again & escaped, there's a huge padlock hanging on it. I came back he's tied on his leash at the gate, my neighbor seemed chase him to tie him. The gate was open wide. Huskies really are on another level of escape artists & spoiled brats. 😭.

He immediately knows that you are messing with him, and he's playful with mom, but it's also clear he really does want her out of his bed!
That wasn’t really playful. The dog legit wanted his bed back. It’s ok to tease him for a few seconds, but beyond that you’re frustrating the poor animal. This prank was way too long.

@@Turtleback8024 That would not have been nearly as much fun for ether of them. They were playing. I understand your issue. I try not to treat the least of my animals in the way you suspect is being done here. You really might want to pay attention to some of the ways people especially children try to play. You will see that they can be using something that would otherwise be considered negative. It's more about the intent. Dogs probable understand more than most people realize. They were playing and both knew it.
@@redbirdln254 I respect your view. However, I must say… I’m still not convinced, especially if you pay attention to the end of the video. Maybe watch the dog’s body language. Even us human beings have a tolerance threshold when being teased, beyond that things can potentially go south quickly.

@bart simpson yeah as a kid I had a half lab and doberman. She would like to make us laugh all the time and would also come into the room just to see what the joke was. So intuitive and kind.

This video makes me happy and sad at the same time. It reminds me of the golden retriever I had when I was a kid, he'd react in a similar way, though he'd do a bit more nudging trying to gently push us off. Best friend a kid could have. 😂

First time I've ever seen a Golden so "passionate". Even hearing one growl like that and bark loudly right near you is so uncharacteristic of them. He was biting and pulling at the bed but never at Mum. That dog wanted HIS BED!!
