Brownie your comment about too many luxury players is absolutely BANG ON. You look at Ipswich with Luongo and Morsy in the "engine room", speed on the flanks with the option to change on the hour - and a proper Centre forward. The only oddity is their main dead ball specialist being the left back. Leeds have no goal threat from centre midfield - NONE!

Hi Connor, amazing how both you guys read my mind on performance. The Swansea game is not talked about enough as it was the best game Ive seen Leeds play. QPR have played the same amount of games this season. We bottled it. Our defence was crap. Meslier was crap. Attackers had loads of space. This was like last season all over again.

What I do worry on Saturday is that Southampton target Summerville or Rutter for an injury for playoffs.
I thought Hull out played us at Ellend Road the other week. We're very good at counter attacking with the pace we have and even though we dominate possession most games we miss a lot of chances. We now have the added problem that we look soft in defence, Cooper and Rodon for me with ampadu back in def mid.

There have been a few contributing factors this season we don't set up defensively when required. The scheduling the decisions against us and the gifts to our opposition. Let's face it we are just not liked and that's been a hangover since the 70s. You need to be top 4 in the prem to not be ignored and favoured by the league. They want teams they can sell abroad ambassadors if you like of English football and we are not liked.

It has taken so much to get back up there and it’s taken it out of us. 8 games in the season we didn’t have a team so if it’s a level playing field from start we win the league.

i think some of those players just want out of the club for bigger contracts, bigger than Leeds can offer even after they go up, during the break heads turned, agents whispering in ears, transfer gossip etc and Leeds will have to sell if they dont go up, cant refuse offers
Yes Gray is great going forward at right back but the biggest problem is that in heralding Gray’s talent. We fell for those shouting that Grays best position was centre midfield. Instead he’s like a kid there… and midfield is porous…. Putting too much pressure on the defence. Need to shore up midfield and stop over reliance on Sommerville and Rutter. Teams are doubling up on those two. Use Joseph, Gelhardt and Anthony more.

I think that Joseph will want to go in the next transfer window. He had a lot of teams that wanted him last Summer. I wouldn't blame him, he's hardly had a look in, he's scores two goals away at Chelsea and he's not been given a fair chance. Poor management. Also, Piroe has really dropped off, since Bamford came back in the team in January. Piroe's confidence is shot to pieces.

Where does that logic come from? Struijk was in defence and Ampadu was in midfield for the first half of the season, up until New year. And we were an inconsistent side who were 17 points behind leicester and 12 behind ipswich at that time.
people keep comparing farke and bielsa, however bielsa was roofless he hooked players at half time on multiple occasions. Made wild unpredictable changes by playing players out of position ect. Farke is one dimension also but doesnt have the rooflessness or take the risks bielsa did. Bielsa would 100% of started joseph

At the moment far too many problems with this team, and its complex. The same parallels are there from last season, the players have clearly fallen out with each other and the manager, and we saw the prelude to that with the spat with Piroe and Cree over the penalty kick, the attack is playing with three players Rutter, Cree, Gnonto, nullify those players and you have no other options since James is now out and was an outlet on the right hand side. Farke is equally responsible I don't buy that the bench is so weak that he won't play them, if that's the case what are they still doing here? Anthony as with Joseph has hardly been used, that leaves Piroe, darlow, gelhardt, Creswell, Shackleton, Cooper, Kamara, Bumfluff and others. Anthony came from the premier league but he cannot get a game?? Gray is now 18 years old and has been overused he's been poor lets face it, but he had options to ease the burden on him, Joseph scored two goals against a premier league side and gets charity minutes, Creswell has been publicly ignored since his old man spoke out, and Dramah was treated likewise and forced a move, and we loaned two players to Boro. Farke is incompetent, we have relied on our luxury players as brownie says but when they cannot produce the wheels come off you saw that at BB and Sunderland. If our luxury players are getting "doubled up on" then wouldn't be intelligent to switch the play since logically there would be more space in other areas? No we still pass it to the three amigos, that's on Farke, this is then compounded with very poor in game management and utterly stupid late subs, and equally bad management with regard to managing rotation, and don't get me started on corners and fee kicks. For me all we needed was to win two more games out of the last seven and we would been promoted!! we had our chances, not just once but several times, and still the glaringly obvious problems have never been fixed, at the last game he sat sulking with his arms folded during the last game and did nothing, he should go end of. The team is completely unbalanced not enough hard workers, when the first goal goes in heads go down, and all the front four don't get back, we are far too mentally weak, just like last season we have two different teams playing in the same team. If you really think this team will win the playoffs you have another thing coming! Ipswich will win at Huds, no reason for Huds to play and even better for them to roll over to spite us, Ipswich will go all out to win on Tuesday and then its done! If we don't win at Saints as I think we won't. As far as I' am concerned you can sell all of these luxury players and put together a team that will be more durable we don't need passengers! and we certainly don't need Farke. Lets stop the narrative of "90" bleeding points the team that gets promoted needs to win more games than everyone else it's that simple and we have not managed it, and we have had plenty of chances, its time to face the harsh reality, just like last season remember??
Do not know where Brownie gets his optimism from. We just lost to the 17 placed team so top six teams will see off easy as Farke has no clue.

I Can’t help but get frustrated with these discussions some things get completely missed 1st thing- Connor puts the good defensive record down to the unit in front of him not meslier but then goes on to say that the bad defensive record now is down to meslier, 2nd the conversation of going from a throw in in their half that was brought up and going back to the keeper. Of course this is an instruction. The idea is to bring a team back out due to the low block so we try to drag them up the pitch, This is why you get gruev going back a lot it’s to draw teams out. Now I don’t agree with Farke’s tactics they are far too passive and whilst it’s easy to go in on the easy targets as fans do. It’s the approach that is the problem. It’s far too slow and passive and when in a low block it’s always in front of teams it doesn’t drag teams out and it is easier to defend against. Rutter has been poor because teams have packed the space and he can’t play with his back to goal and doesn’t know when to hold it and when to give it & ends up giving it away regularly. As for Piroe, he also can’t play with his back to goal it doesn’t mean he’s shit he’s just being asked to do something he isn’t good at. He’s better in a 2 working off the the main 9 The reason gray was put into midfield is because Farke’s passive possession style was becoming easy to defend against so we needed extra midfielder to join in the attack but that has come at the expense of the 2 holding midfielders and that’s why we’re conceding more chances. Also Farke’s style doesn’t set out to go for the win from minute 1 it’s a methodical wear teams down style and then sit on what we have once we go in front. It’s great if we get the first goal then teams have to come out at us and we can catch them on the break. But the longer it goes on without scoring teams dig in more. The lack of going at it from minute 1 allows teams to settle into a low block and gives teams encouragement the longer it goes on Now for the qpr game the plan was all wrong we wanted to play patient & passive build up play where as qpr got straight in our faces we should have setup to be hard to beat with 2 holders from the start. the same happened at Huddersfield in the first half Coventry and Watford also. Bullied in all of them. But the crux of it is we aren’t aggressive enough from the off in terms of being on the front foot pushing them back, if a team is brave enough and strong enough to press we wilt under it. If teams sit of us since the break we’ve been far too passive to pull teams out of shape to find openings. This isn’t to say the players don’t need to have a long hard look at themselves… they are ones that are allowing themselves to be bullied physically and not standing up to it The system relies on individuals skill to unlock teams rather than the system creating openings which is what we had with Bielsa. Teams couldn’t handle the movement and unfortunately it’s what Ipswich have. Teams are scared of them so back off and eventually cave in, which is why the score late goals. We play in front of teams with no real plan if our front 3 aren’t on it
You're not far wrong in anything you've said here.
So from your analysis, i can see that the system is poor at breaking down the low block and worse at doing anything against a team playing on the front foot and attacking us. correct? If that is the case may i ask how we have picked up so many wins over the season and what exactly we have done well? Is it just individual players doing their own thing and nothing to do with what farke wants them to do? From what i can see, and its not in as much detail as yours, is that from halfway through the season, teams have doubled and tripled up on summerville, creating space for other players if he would just lay it off. The fact that he wont do that and plays straight into the defenders hands is just madness. Fair play to the lad, he has had a good season and scored some nice goals, but what do 10 other pro footballers and a manager say to him when we have waited to counter and he slows the attack down with a sloppy half arsed backwards pass or gives the ball away so many times running into a wall? If that was in my under 7s team id be pissed off, never mind Leeds United.
@@dannytyler8771 we've scored many goals earlier because other sides have something to play for and are more expansive, the run we witnessed where they clawed back Leicester and Ipswich's lead saw us play many sides in the top half if you'd care to peruse the fixtures, Ipswich and Leicester have smashed the lower half sides which is why they'll be promoted, don't they low block against them, of course they do? Farke has used the same approach and it doesn't work, homework has been done on his inflexibility by other coaches and as we've seen, it's simple to negate us in sideways/backwards negativity, wake up!

Lots of theories banging about and this myth of the international break being our Waterloo. Absolutely bollocks we were not very good to be honest as a team looking like there was no tactical philosophy the thing is we were winning our games so the cracks were painted over. I’ve made comments that you can find since Christmas this manager just doesn’t seem to have any real footballing knowledge, when this is all over the truth will come out and I would like everyone to give me the respect and apologies I deserve. On Saturday no matter what happens on Tuesday between Coventry and Ipswich this manager is not good for this club we need to find a manager that comes in to manage from the top to the bottom a culture changer. This type of manager is the only one that can drive the 49ers project forward. Not to mention the Joseph situation, going by the way this manager is we are going to do the same on Saturday, we’re going to blow this game.
