Vondrousova is such a good player, and plays with variety but she often loses to players ranked below her. Hopefully she can have a good run on clay.
If Vondrousova’s body would hold up she would easily be top 10. Former Rome semi finalist, Olympic finalist, and RG Finalist. This girls has one of the toughest games to read and a real talent. I hope she stays healthy because she has a big game
True. Her and Muchova are my favorite Czech players and it is pity that last two, three years they did not stay fit the whole season and was struggling with injuries. What I also like at Marketa's game is that kind of prediction of the game. When I watch her, so many times she just knows what the opponent will play. Some players don't have this talent. 🤔
The most important tournament of the year for Maria, the prestigious RABAT slam, is beginning next week, so Maria is clearly focused on that. :) Go win Rabat girl!!

This is a woman who is ranked in top10 WTA ranking, who stated she had aspirations to become 1-3 number in the world and won only 1 tournament 250 level, a good few years ago. I am not surprised she struggles mentally at this point every time she comes across an easy draw or plays semi-final (or even final). At this point, after so many blown chances each and every of us would struggle mentally and self-doubt about own capabilities and talent so I am not surprised it went into her head. Especially that she is Greek and Greeks (similarly to other Balkan natives) are known of having not the strongest psyche, overanalysing and oftentimes having a temper. She is definitely overhyped player, although nice. But being a nice girl is not enough to win tournaments, it can only win fans' sympathy.
@@marcinpapke WTA is kind of a joke. IMO, the WTA died with the mid Serena era, when the best after the Williams were crap players like Sharapova. I miss the era with Clyster, Henin, Mauresmo, etc.

Vondrousova is very talented, with a lot of variety in her game. Hopefully she stays injury free. As for Sakkari, at least her bad record in semis won't get worse this week 🙃
Well is she had won today. she would have had Rybakina in R16. If she went through she would have had Swaitek in the QFs, she would have got near the semis.

This match just showed why Marketa has been in a GS FINAL already and what a clever and intelligent player she actually is. 😻🥳 Nothing more but congrats and all the best for the further tournament course and the rest of the season! 🙏🍀❤️ On the other hand, this match also showed how limited and average in her shot selection and game plan Sakkari actually is. But somehow, is is enough for beeing a top ten player at the moment, like many other players (Gauff, Kasatkina) on the WTA Tour, also. I hope, that this will change one day and tennis will get less one dimensional in term of the playing style 🥴😅
Marketa's got many skills to win top players on clay and with popform she might be on finals or semi's and why not R. G. Final too !!! Sakari's missing some few tactics but still competitive to go far on Chlems this year
I continue to be baffled why young women think putting peculiar blobs of ink on their beautiful bodies holds any meaning, but I disgress. Marketa is a fabulous player. She sure made Sakkari look mediocre in this one. Marketa looks like a serious contender. Love watching her play and wish her luck!

IMO only Sabalenka and Pegula were upsets, Ons coming back from injury, playing an in-form Badosa, Garcia is just terrible, was crying on court, Sakkari lost to Vondrousova, we know what Vondroušová could do on her day.

Just like Coco (except Coco is much younger), Marketa can’t catch a break neither can Sakkari actually. Both Marketa and Coco are Grand Slam finalists except Coco has more titles and Coco has been in Grand Slams in doubles even making it twice to a Grand Slam doubles final. I hope Sakkari, Marketa, and Coco can all win a big WTA-500 or WTA-1000 level title one day. 🎾

Marketa on form and with her deadly drop shots too much for Maria. Sakkari really needs to adopt a better tactical game, and a new coach might help.

Vondrousova is easily a top 5 clay courter. Injuries have kept her from fulfilling her potential. Glad to see her back winning big matches.

@@23Echeo She's an unsportsmanlike player. I know what she did twice in matches against Pliskova. She couldn't admit that the ball fell on the line and that she touched the ball with her racket. And on top of that, her terrible screaming.
