Buried in Snow W/Frozen Pipes | RV Renovation :
In today's video, I take you through my unique situation: Living in a trailer with frozen water and buried in snow. I'll take you with me as I show you the problems that I'm dealing with and what I do to fix them. It's going to be a cold winter, so stay warm out there and thanks for watching! later
I think people who repair and build using their hands and tools are amazing and explain their procedures. Thank you! 💐💐👏🏽👏🏽
This man is talented
Thank you!
@@Dualex_Builds you're welcome☺
I agree
@@biancaegypt6100 and beautiful 🤩
I agree too
That 2 minute intro was a cinematic masterpiece
Man you should be known nation wide. Love all your builds.
All jokes aside just finished the video. This dude is a genius. Saving this video so I can copy it later
I just love this young mans mind. God has really blessed him
Been there. Good job. Some hillbilly tips: Wood ash on the snow acts as a solar collector and helps to melt snow and ice off your road (makes a mess through), Insulate and heat tape your lines when it's still warm (doing it in the cold sucks), putting some kind of wind block skirting around your RV will help it stay warm (you can use any kind of board material, or even bales of hay), Insulating around your freshwater tank and installing an immersion heater (like used for stock tanks) will keep it from freezing. Blocking drafts around doors or windows with clear plastic sheeting still allows light in, but keeps in the warm air. Back when I was a poverty stricken college student, these tips helped keep me from freezing to death. Good Luck.
Very useful ideas but the thing I was most impressed with was that you go to the gym every single day to work out at 5 am. Impressive and I admire your self-motivation.
He is so intelligent and hard working man. He really deserve only the best in life.
Those ideas are so simple. Thanks for show us that it don’t take a lot or a rocket scientist to have water. This is the best way to not worry about outside pipes freezing up. Love you work.
Didn't even finish the vid yet but you know it's serious when he puts on the work boots. 1:27
This man needs to be cloned, he’s beautiful and amazing!
Warm/Boil pots of fresh snow on the stove... instant clean water 💧.
THIS KING IS “GIFTED” IM CHECKIN IN FROM MEMPHIS,TN!!!!!! I TRULY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!
How blessed to be an all round person. You need to start doing a survival show DualEx. How Amazing!!!!you really are...👏🏿🙏🏾
Use a garden hand pump sprayer til the pipes unfreeze . Just attach a hose spray attachment like the ones you water plants with in the garden. Take it with you in the shower with hot water added. Thats what I used to use during hurricanes.
Honestly I see you owning a design company one day, just started watching your videos.
Frozen pipes suck. I love your videos, you are so skilled and creative. Wishing you all the best.
I hope summer gets there fast.
Me too!
Oh my gosh. You are the hope for mankind. If I were 30 years younger, um, um. God bless you.
Jesus someone give this man a million dollars he Will absolutely turned it to trillions of dollars 🙌
Good thing is, you probably shoveled so much snow, that you did not need to work out that day, right? :-)
That’s exactly what happened
@@Dualex_Builds 😄😍
Every time you amaze me. Your talent is on a different level
You can put a rv skirt apparently it helps alot for winter. And plug in a light bulb underneath the camper and storage areas.
A 100 watt light bulb in my pump house works wonders. I imagine it would work on a travel trailer too. Also, an aquarium heater might work too
Stay rested. Man. LEGIT. Man. SPEAK.
Been waiting for another video in his trailer. This guy is insanely talented. Good luck brother in your future endeavors!
That's one way. My way is to wrap heat tape around pipes, heat tape and insulation around water tank. Apply plastic on the ground under camper and all the way around the bottom to skirt it or plywood skirting to go around. Putting plastic on the ground makes for a freeze barrier. Even in 30 below temperatures you can keep your water from freezing. Otherwise keeping your water running at a trickle all night helps keep it from freezing to.
Watching from the UK! Fantastic channel.. A dream to build my own mobile camper/office one day. 👍
Story telling is key to great content and my boy... You got it. Keep it going. Keep being great.
This was good. Very informative. Good sir you are a man of skill in your craft. I was going to say he can shovel my drive way any day but hubby would feel some type of way so............
🤣🤣🤣
Thanks. Great advice. Unusually heavy snow even in UK at moment. 😎
If you put a heat lamp under your trailer with a removable box cover around the tank and some pipes. It will keep it going. I have 20 degrees of weather for 6 months of the year and thats whats been keeping our pipes from bursting or having no water in the house. So, you honestly didn't need to do all that work.
I love this idea, so all your pipes & tank metal? I"d be worried about it getting to hot and melting, which creates another problem.
Welcome to NY. I was just telling a friend about your videos. Love the van transformations. Maybe I will look to do one when I retire in a few years. Your knowledge and ability to explain and show how things are done is excellent. Keep producing as they are fun to watch. Thanks and keep warm out there.
When you said,"I need to shovel my truck out of the snow"😳😲 I was wondering how can one human shovel all of that snow. 👀👀I couldn't even see the road. I was thinking what road is he going to even drive on. I'm truly impressed that you shoveled all of that snow. I didn't think it was a good idea for you to tackle that by yourself...But you did❗❗❗👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆🏅🎖🏅🎖You deserve an award❗❗❗
Man I been watching your video for months now. I used some of your ideas and some of mine. I live in a Toyota sienna 04. I live in Colorado it get cold . I got solar power. Tv even a heat bed . I keep my van at 65 cause its a small space . I have running water even a small freezer. I wanted to say thank u for making all the videos and even the ones u show u missed thing up on . I personally learn a lot from them . . When Finnish I would like to make a video in hoping a little feed back . Thank a million
DualEx- You are a Inspiration and Motivation. Respect.
something tells me this guy works housing and knows a lot about builds already... I'm grateful for him sharing the wealth of knowledge he has, none the less.
That snow shoveling song is my Jam. I didn't know anyone else listened to JazzJop (Yes, that's a word I made up.)
Who is it and what its called? Its nice
I was going to ask what happens in winter.... I got my answer! @DualEx you're the man!
Been A Subscriber For Years Bro I'm Enjoying The Growth Of The Channel & Your Projects, Continued Blessings King 🙏 👑 Salute From Virginia(DMV)
Being in a cold climate, do you have heat tape around your pipes under the trailer?
What I use for camping is a water jug with a basic built in spout dispenser. Sort of like those ice tea jars with the spigot on the end. That seems to work well. It only holds 2.5 gallons. But I have back up collapsible water bottles I can refill it with. I use that water while camping for cooking and hand washing and getting water for dishes. Can rinse dishes directly under the spigot. Nice how you built it in. Good ideas for emergency water in cold weather
Have you thought about having another truck, with shovel, in front. Also what about putting a cover around your RV sides to insulted from snow, getting under the botton just a Thought!?. Be Safe
My thoughts too. Skirt it and heat it
Well I thought the same way but like he said it came abruptly he did not know it was going to snow that much. Or not at all.
Yeah!!!! Loved the zero build option.
Couple things you can add to tank are heat pads that'll keep them from freezing. Heat tape and foam insulation. Also if you leave your cabinets open heat will get in and help not to freeze inside. If you do freeze up fast way to thaw is portable heater facing into cabinets and go get a funnel for cars that's flexible you can then heat up water and poor into holding tanks, don't boil it just warm it up. If you skirt the trailer you can leave a light under the camper and that helps too.
add a heat pad and foam insulation to your outside tanks to weather protect them
Wow d St o sorry to hear what you are going through but unfortunately it’s a dilemma that a lot of people are dealing with across the country I live in St. Louis Missouri we are accustomed to the cold temperatures and water pipes freezing so I feel far you friend it will get better be safe stay warm 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🌈🌈🌈
Oh I’m in New York I’m used to the snow too. I just never look at the weather report lol
I never look at the weather report what is the point it’s Mother Nature and we don’t have any control over it anyway well you being in New York you definitely are used to the cold and deep snow well be safe stay warm I think your solution is a great one take care 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🌈🌈🌈
We lived in an rv in Minnesota 1 yr and new hampshire 1yr all you gotta do is skirt the bottom! But also our rv had the water pipes in a heated area so that probably helped..
And they have these new blow up skirts for RV's to help keep them warm/colder.
I really appreciate a man that can cook. ☺
I love watching this dudes videos he shows the whole process but sums it up with great detail.
You truly are so talented. You can also tell how humble and kind you are.
This video brought back some old unpleasant memories.. Coming out of the RV, looking around stepping in the snow. Son of a b****. I laughed out loud on that. I know exactly how that feels. In my full-time RV days. Great video.
What made you stop the van life if you don't mind me asking?
I am a full-time filmmaker. I shoot commercials, shorts. And I have my own equipment. I say this because I was pulling out sea stands, light stands, cameras, I mean everything out underneath my bed. I made this really cool 2-ft high box, where my bed lays on top of. And at first I thought I could minimize my equipment. However, it got to the point where it started to become a headache. We're shooting something became irritating. The second reason was driving my RV. I bought a 1996 Fleetwood Storm. Even though I replaced A lot of my steering parts underneath. I still was white knuckling it when I drove even in 9 mph winds. It never really became natural to me. And I found myself dreading the drive, and that's kind of why I bought the RV in the first place. I do have to say that I do miss it in a way. I don't think I'll ever go back to full time. However, there's something about living in a RV that is special. Waking up somewhere different every other month. Was amazing. And I'll always cherish those memories.
7:15. Very GOOD. Showing your viewers, options. LEGIT.
Keep Winning it !!! Win Win Win !!! 😎👍
Thanks, for sharing your gifts with us.
Get an aquarium water heater and leave it in the bucket.
Wow, thanks for sharing this information. Sorry your pipes froze but I glad you were able to show us how to adapt to frozen water issues. Blessings my friend.
You are blessed with an amazing craft. I appreciate how satisfying your videos are... thank you brother!
I love your videos!! I like option 3 I think that’s the easiest one and one that I could do! You’re so creative too!
That is the most beautiful view ever!!! Sorry about the pipe/water situation.
So so so talented! Wish we had more men like you!
Great job DEx, my back began to ache watching you shovel.
I learn something every time I watch one of your vids. Thanks man.
I love your vids, so inspiring! You make repairs look so easy for RV living. I too have an RV in WNY and all my pipes froze. This is really helpful information.
Don’t know if your plans are long term but they have air skirting kits for the trailer and a couple of drop lights would keep everything thawed out in cold temps
Thanks for the beginning of the video nice. Hope the water thaws soon for you
Very good idea 💡 about the water lines freezing 💧 issue , thanks for sharing your awesome information 😊👍💕💕💕
And with all that snow you can melt it to have water for your dishes etc...
Exactly what I was thinking 😎
Lol no

@@jamessherman7570 Terrible idea
Absolutely amazing
This was very relaxing to watch! Nice job!
Make longer episodes please!.. I admit I have no glasses on right now, but pretty sure i'm not seeing a Patreon link.. WHYYY don't you have a Patreon link?.. Don't tell me you don't have one!... Sweety, i think I speak for us all when I say all your subscribers love you and would gladly support your work... I love you so much i'm tempted to buy an old van, just to be able to pay you to do it and get to meet you lol.. TRUE story lol.. A Sportsmobile Classic 4x4 van that is in great mechanical shape, but the interior suffered significant water damaga and a bit of fire damaga.. It only affected the interior camping part, so the van itself is pristine, under the hood.. The Sportsmobile even has front and rear dif lockers! Yes I am into overlanding
Oh no... ice anyone? You could be the Noah of our day. 😁
Talented and creative!
I love watching you build😊😍
Sir, you totally rock!
Keep water running in winter to prevent freezing or wrap hoses/pipes with heat tape. Skirt your trailer if you are not moving.
As soon as the video started I got a popup ad for heater repair. lol
Shoot shoveling all that snow is half your workout. Don't overdue it Make sure your frozen tanks are not cracked once they are unthrawed.
Love your channel Sir. Always fantastic content and great editing.
You’ve been such a big inspiration, thank you so much!
Wow! Thought this was a long complicated process to set up. This king of thing would work well in a garden. Have water pumps to have water on hand. Awesome informative episode!!
This man is blessed
Amazing, Brother you have no idea how Much proud I am of someone I don't even know. Keep up the good work
Great simple video
Good and simple and cool story telling!👏
Great Series DualEx!
Genius at work
I was wondering whether or not you were going to put up skirting around the base of your travel trailer for the time being all things considered with being in E. NY until your girl gets back and you head south again. But now you have a backup system for those just-in-case moments. As always you've done a great job!
You are so inspiring and incredibly genius!
DualEx you rock
You are genius! I had a friend of mine that put a propane heater underneath his trailer where the pipes were and started the thaw process. your way is much better.
Wow this is so helpful!
Stay safe!
NC..... BE SAFE🙏🏿🙌🏿
This guy is too cool. Great creativity man
LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEO 🤗
Awesome as usual! I have also seen people use sheets of styrofoam insulation as a border around their Rv's and trailers to cut down on cold and wind underneath. A good old fashioned hair dryer works on those pipes too.
Great content! Keep up the excellent work! 👍
Will do!
Amazing another sick dope video 💯💯💯
