  • Kyle, the little brachiopods would make great "worry stones", also known as palm stones. People love those. Also, the really small ones I drill a hole in and make pendants after a bit of polish. Guys like them when strung on 5-mil pieces of leather and a few ceramic beads. You can't always find just the right size to polish for a pendant though. I once spent an entire day one summer on a Mich. beach and only found 6 that were the perfect size, lol. Good thing I enjoyed the great sunny warm summer weather that day so it wasn't a total waste. I tried grinding away 1-2-mil of the white lines on one once so the spots looked 3-D, and it came out very cool looking. But it took so long to do, and I went thru too many bits, to ever be profitable to do. So instead, I made a cool1 necklace for my 23-year-old nephew who wears it all of the time. That was worth the time as a gift. Another cool video!

  • It is amazing the amount of rock and fossil knowledge you have. I enjoy watching you and learning things. Near where I live in Colorado, Littleton, we have what is called the Hog Back. It is called this because when this ridge was pushed up, it came up almost vertically. From the air it looks like the ridge on a hogs back. Where it was cut through for Interstate 70, you can see the many different layers. Along part of the ridge a bit away from this, dinosaur footprints have been found. It is called Dinosaur Ridge. (You probably know about this.) I know you can't take anything away from here, but I have seen people taking rocks from the cut for I70. I don't know if there are fossils there or not. When you showed the hole in the clouds as you were eating your sandwich and said the sun was coming out, it reminded me of when I was in the Air Force. I was in Air Weather Service working as a forecaster and we called those "Sucker Holes" because they made you think the sun was coming out. Most of the time it didn't, thus the name. Just a useless bit of information. Lol
