Honestly the fact Colby said between rounds his jaw was broken and he went out there and went full force not moving back was absolutely insane

@meankronen82173 жыл бұрын
Respectfully disagree. Defending wrestling is easier than wrestling offensively. When u got 2 elite mma wrestlers with maxed out endurance and toughness, neither one wants to be the one initiating a wrestling match. And while both of these guys have very little KO ability for championship level fighters, they have overall pretty decent striking game and good pace, so it was quite obvious it was gonna be a good fast paced kickboxing match. The ending was unfortunate and questionable from a sporting perspektive, but can't say i feel sorry for Colby xd

Not to oversimplify, but that is more or less the extent of Colby's range as far as game plans if you take wrestling out of the equation. Dude is an absolute cardio/stamina monster and absolutely no slouch in the grappling department but at no point in championship rounds was there a moment where I thought there was really any additional insight to be offered. If any of the coaches or Colby himself thought that at any point during the camp there was something to be gained by wrestling w/ Usman, there would've been at least 1 take down attempt at SOME point regardless of whatever was or was not said in the corner between rounds. It's not like Colby is going magically gain years worth of experience in the boxing game and start slipping Usman's straight punches, and lets not forget that the score was arguably 2-2 going in to the 5th round (where Colby cane out pretty strong IIRC, even though I personally had rounds 2, 3, and 4 for Usman). His entire skillset is geared towards wearing fighters down and being in a better position in the championship rounds, and if he was arguably sitting on 2-2 going in to the final round, what additional advice or changes to the strategy were there to consider?

Respectfully disagree. Defending wrestling is easier than wrestling offensively. When u got 2 elite mma wrestlers with maxed out endurance and toughness, neither one wants to be the one initiating a wrestling match. And while both of these guys have very little KO ability for championship level fighters, they have overall pretty decent striking game and good pace, so it was quite obvious it was gonna be a good fast paced kickboxing match. He was injured, it would be negligent to push the fighter even further. Don’t destroy their hopes, but don’t send them running in.
I worked at Panera Bread in Las Vegas and one of Colby's guys came in the day after the fight and got a soup LOL. He had a UFC shirt on and I asked if he saw the fight yesterday and he said, yea this soup is actually for Colby haha.

This fight and the build up was incredible!! Respect to both warriors for going all out
Gotta admit tho. Colby is tough af can fight. Like he can fucking fight. I want the rematch if they don’t hurry up with Masvidal vs Covington
Yes he can. Masvidal vs Covington, two ex bf’s fighting it out. Like Tito and Liddell. Let’s make it a trilogy
@Michael Best How can you say something so stupid?
Masvidal is ducking covington
What do you say about usman? Usman destroys him again faster this time.
I think he can talk trash better than he can fight.
Larone : "ALL THE CONTENT"
This man is a gods gift on earth zero ads too when he could bank but he’s doing it out of love, plus I don’t think he wants to get a copyright strike or anything 😂
@@Muerte1917 seems to me he rewatches every event, and makes the best out of it meanwhile which is awesome! I would do the same if i could but me and Technology dont get along very well xD
ALL DA BELTS
@@Muerte1917 Yea, if he monetized this content, they'd go after him harder.
On a serious note Usman definitely has the strongest mind in the division and chin too!
He could very well end up being the greatest WW of all time, but goddamn I wish he could say something and not sound like a fucking idiot. All I ever hear from Usman is that he's "real" and then proceeds to imitate Conor McGregor in every way possible, "green panty night," fuck outta here
@@dontreplyyourestupid136 I like Usman him and Colby are my favourite fighters but yea that green panty night line was so cringe lol
Colby talked all that shit and got his jaw broken! Classic ending.
That emeil mick line had me dead. "Emil mick" "Who?" "Exactly" fn lol
This some shit off a movie XD
there needs to be a rematch.
what the fuck do you think would change, its a wrap

Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington had a iconic rivalry, from their trash talk to the animosity, build up and both matches were amazing 👏👏👏👏👏
“haha good joke... not” has to be one of the cringiest lines i’ve ever heard in a UFC press conference.
It was so cringe it actually ended up being funny lmaao

Usman trying to get the crowd to say “Shut up, shut up” was even worse 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Yeah I'm here looking at fireworks, truly great stand up fight...wish Usman did this more often
@@saltgenerat0r he might with burns cause there both wrestlers
"I've always been real." - funniest shit Colby has ever said. He rehearses his lines and still fucks them up half the time. Would love to see him try and trash talk Bisping again. He may actually cry. 🤣🤣🤣
Usman kills with how he drops the mic 🎤 after everything he says & waits for laughs or applause 🙄💯
Some dudes in the ufc are just a lil bit gone in the head they are willing to die and prepared to kill.. Colby continued after a broken jaw🤧
Most dudes... fighters are a different breed
His jaw wasn’t broken
Colby said it wasn't broken though
@@Elia_9400 yes it was broken lol
Take a look at the x-rays, it was absolutely broken
Colby literally says it during the press conference. He wants you to hate him. It's a business model. As soon as I realized that I stopped hating on Colby his whole persona is entertaining imo
6:51 proves he's a great guy. You can tell he was genuinely happy to talk to that fan. That is the real colby. The one we see on the press conference with the maga 🧢 is just him trying to sell a ppv.
That’s pathetic. Nobody liked him and he couldn’t sell, so he needed people to hate him
@@brainexplain1636 I wouldn’t necessarily call it pathetic lol. He was a winning fighter that was about to get cut. The man did what he had to do to get paid.
I totally agree with you😂
I understand that in front of the cameras its a huge act, but all interviews I’ve seen from other fighters say hes genuinely a bad person behind the scenes as well.
Who's here after Colby vs Usman 2 got announced?
Covington faught that last round with broken jaw. And he was still throwing some significant punches. That's something we have to respect about him beside trash talk.
Last 2 rounds
last 2 rounds, and won the round 4 by unanimous decision i think

Faked nutshot
The fact his jaw was broken but yet he continued fighting earns him my respect.
Fighters have continued to fightbwith broken fists, elbows, faces, eyes poked, broken ribs. Its not like a broken jaw is something special.
@@GoodStuff1992 a broken jaw can effect the fight extremely, same with everything you’ve mentioned. Getting hit in his jaw continuously after the injury could have given him long term or possibly permanent injuries. So either way,I will praise him for going through with his injury.
@@SYNvGh0st yeah because he talked too much so he needed to fight
Too slow to avoid the punch, respect?
Yeah but who broke that jaw? Haha
Colby is a beast and fought insanely well, Kamaru was just so dominant at that point in his career. It’s funny how much people “hate” someone who they’ve never met before
Colby landed a lot of good shots and Kamura walked through a few of them. This fight was just epic I can’t wait for the second fight
When the dust settles this will be looked at as one of the greatest fights in the history of the ufc.

He got Whooped.
I love how bad Colby is at trash talking or even talking in general. He stumbles and stutters over every line😂😂😂
You can definitely tell how much he has to put his shyness aside to keep it up
"When I'm done with him hes going to have to drink smoothies through a straw" lol
It's so forced. Trashing talking his opponent is whatever but he gets too personal with it and it's because he isn't as creative as someone like McGregor
@@SirEnzo371 he gets no where with the trash talk not personal just stupid like "hes going to have to drink smoothies through a straw" like what is he talking about? But yeah hes forcing them
@@carsoncottrell4435 He'll get personal sometimes. Like with Usman when he brought up his dad randomly....when everyone knows Usman's dad has been locked up for the last 10 years. Not a huge fan of Colby, but to fight with a broken jaw for over a round earns serious respect. And he gave Kamaru a serious fight.
