Hey brother the Nitto Trail Grappler you called it a Terra Grappler big difference between the two
Sorry!
Ho a have toyota tacoma 2019 off-road wich tires will you recomen me
@@CampusautoCo Hi! you're stating in your video that the Toyo Open Country MT looks different on each side, and it would have different profiles so the owner can choose which look to prefer and pick one. but does the tyre really have different side profiles? it doesn't look like in your video and I can't find anything about it on the official toyo homepage either referring to @11:25
Do you have a 3PMSF rated tire you’d recommend? Or a favorite?
“ This is my favorite tire that has a lifted truck but never goes off road” LOL
Lol
Ha ha m.. This is me
😂😂😂😂😂 most of them in here Texas
@@PankajMohan I believe it
Yeah percent Sema trucks never do go off road
"This is my favorite tire for guys who think that Falken tires are good". Loved that.
Lol
Thanks for taking the time to compare, I found your opinion valuable and you've obviously got a good amount of experience selling tires. Thanks!
Good review. You spoke to the common guy like myself that doesn’t know a lot about tires. Thanks a lot.
asptrooper: I totally agree, Just got my first awesome 4x4 and needed a little understanding of what to look for in a tire. I'd rather be educated and not go in blind getting 'holed in the sidewall'...
Thanks for watching!
I wish I could like this review more than once, great job at explaining the technical features also great job on your verbal articulation of the tires. I was able to watch this in normal speed and enjoy it.
Hi have KM3 50k and couting mybe more 20k
Matt, love the review and the “Freeman Motors” comment. I also own Trail Benders Overland and we run the X3’s and love them. Keep up the good work!!
Right on!
This is the best description I have ever seen on tire design....and then wraps it up with priceless overall summaries.....Great video.....
Glad you liked it!
Only thing missing from most tyre reviews is the road noise factor. I know he touched on it briefly in this video, but for me, a decibel rating would be a great addition to any off road tyre review. Great video, thorough & unbiased.
I do want to do that and do some more real world testing. Stay tuned!
The best tire video I’ve ever watched. Informed opinion with an solid explanation of features and comparisons between popular tires. Also, the Nitto comment was great.
Thank you!
I have the falken mt and I love my tires. Id buy them again. They work great in Glamis. Highly recommended
What kind of terrain?
I've ran Falken AT 2's and 3's and never blew one out, and i ran a few of them till the cords were showing. Excellent tires.
"these are my favorite tire for the guy that wants to looks like he off roads but doesnt" hahaha love it! great video. still cant decide between km3 and grabber x3. but lots more information
I would go with the X3
I just put the km3s on my truck. Sunk it in mud 3 hours after I got it home and it barely spun. And I was trying to not spin, just crawl through it.
Too many mall crawlers here in FL too. Guys with snorkels and 22" wheels every aftermarket piece you can think of but never seen a piece of dirt
I've been a BFG guy for years but those X3s are calling my name. Thanks for the great reviews.
Right on
I bought the general grabber x3 after watching a bunch of videos and I have to say I love them. 33 12.50 on my jku 3 in lift. Great life so far after 15k miles still tons of tread life left. Get around everywhere I go as well. Great traction in snow mud and rocks.
Awesome!
I have a set of 35" KM3s on my Tahoe and absolutely love them! They are expensive but very quite on the road and great traction on a slick boat ramp. I highly recommend them.
I appreciate this review as a Land Cruiser 100 owner, you were straightforward and told it like it is ... I appreciate your honesty and opinions and my research happens to line up wit a lot of what you said. I'm subscribing!
Thank you for watching!
Falken has the thickest sidewall so you can run them at a lower psi and won’t cut them. They’re especially good here in Hawaii where we drive through very sharp lava fields.
Bfg m/t km2 had them 10yrs still on my truck half tread love um
The first set of MTs I have are the Master Craft MTX. Going on 5 years with over 45k miles and I still have tread left. Going for 35's next. Thank you for your educated opinion on these tires. I have been looking at Mickey Thompson MT's, Maxis MT's, and the Grapplers (your favorite ones.)
Stay away from Mickey Thompson’s I had soo many flats with them
I had those tires on my ram 2500 and I got 35k out of them and still had probably 5k left when I got rid of them. I wish they came in a load range E tire in 35" though.
We (our family) appreciate your video. I love how in depth you got with the information with each tire. It will help us out a lot when deciding which tire to go with. Right now we are running the Nitto tires and I have to disagree with you on the comment of we just wanted to look good. I swamped my Jeep into a mud pit that's been blocked off for over 10 years so the mud was caked at the bottom. These Nitto's done extremely well and did not leave us hanging. I was fully expecting to get stuck and we have the winch ready but these Nitto's pulled us right out as if there was no mud at all. We even stopped in the muddle of the pit to take a few videos.
Thanks for the real world feedback! I know many people who love Nitto Tires and they work well for them. I was just kind of joking about that. I know that they are pretty good tires.
@@CampusautoCo lol we get it. It's always good to have humor! Live love laugh. I just started this KZhead channel for our family. It's me and my little girls. They do most of the work. It goes to show not all younger generation is lost to everything tech. I will be posting those videos up in a few weeks of us playing in a semi deep hole. As for now video editing takes time and patience.
Excellent video. I’m trying to figure out what tires to put on my JK and now you just made it harder for me 🤣
Planning on those firestone mt2 for my next set. Right now I'm on nitro trail grapplers like the ones in the video, and when they were new until about 1/2 tread they were awesome in the mud and anything else I put them through. Fairly stable for towing too but I'm hoping the firestones will be better. Only complaint about the nittos is that they are bad about holding on to pieces of gravel
Good video. Would like to see the Maxxis Razr and Cooper SST Pro as others have said.
Excellent video. I love how you gave a lot of detailed information and then gave your personal opinion.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, and absolutely SAVAGE in parts! I cam here 'cause I didn't know what tyres I should get for my 1994 Toyota Hilux, and I think you helped me settle on the Generals! Cheers from Australia!
Thank you!
Cheers for vid, I know you can’t do every tire, would have loved to have seen the new Maxxis Razr against these esp the General and KM3, cheers
I have the Firestone destination mt2's on my Dodge 2500 I love them so far. Low road noise, and awesome in the mud and sand. I have no complaints so far plus they are affordable
Same truck same tire, I did get to use them here in Tx during the big freeze with the studs and they were exceptional! Pulled alot of emergency vehicles back on the road with them. Yes they great in mud too!
You tow with them?
Love your videos. Good job on this one. Very informative and straight forward without the commercialization. Thanks. I’m looking for a set for my newly lifted (AEV 2.5”) 2017 JKUL Recon. This helps.
Really enjoyed the video and the in depth look at the tread. Don’t know why everyone has something negative to say all the time. I personally run BFG ko2’s on my ram 1500 since I live in the desert and hardly see much mud. If I ever were to buy mud tires, it would have to be the Toyo’s. Great video
I've got 33X12.50r15 X3's on my lifted Jeep XJ. Best tires I've ever owned and I beat them with everything from mud to rocks to snow. Nothing slows them down
If you don't mind me asking..Are this tires noisy? Got a 79 CJ7 am about to get done with after frame off rebuild and I am going to be needing some nice looking tires. Im not planning on going off roading with it for a few reasons but I do like the look of the aggressive tires. Thanks.
@@MrElPoderozo1 The Grabber X3 is very quiet compared to most mud terrain tires. They will wear on the highway amazingly well. You can't go wrong!
@@PirateJeep Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.👍🏽🇺🇸
I have KM3’s and don’t have a bad thing to say about them, great on wet muddy rocks and on the beach, quiet on the road and still plenty of grip in the rain, I’ve done 20 000km on them and they still are holding up fine
How about every day drive freeway or around the city are the loud
@@pedroelizarraraz3145 they are really good, also in that conditions.
@@pedroelizarraraz3145- they are relatively quiet for mudders I’m closing in on 50k miles on mine and they are getting lauder but still have great tread left I’ve rotated them regularly but have pushed them hard on and off road
Thanks for this video! Very informative and thorough analysis about the differences in the tread patterns and compounds.
Thank you!
I went with the Firestones thanks to this vid I was able to pull the trigger on a good deal with these. First experience with MTs. They are phenomenal in mud. Decent in dirt and gravel but predictable traction. Ride extremely well over bumps for being an e rated tire. Very noisy since I came from an AT tire. Wont be testing in snow, they don’t like hard packed surfaces, probably crappy in most snow types. They look amazing. Most of my off-road driving is not well maintained gravel and mud and can say this has to be the perfect tire for such terrain. Last point. Aired down in mud the Firestone MT is unstoppable.
I have the x3 and highly recommend them
Where is Mickey Thompson, Dick Cepek, or Cooper tires?? I'm sure i forgot one or two??
I have had 2 sets of the Nitto Trail Grapplers on two different trucks. They were by far the best mud terrain tires I have had. They were very quite on the road and pulled great in the mud. The BFgoodrich KM3 I had once too. They were great off road, but pretty load on the road and had a lot of vibration.
I live in Pulaski County, Virginia! Didn’t even look to see the KZhead page that posted this, just looking for a mud tire review. Pretty neat! Go Hokies!!
Awesome! Thanks for watching.
SUBSCRIBED FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT AND EDUCATION. Love the honest comments.
Thanks!
Love the military look of the Firestones. Very cool
Love the FJ Cruiser shout out. I agree, I bet those Generals would work pretty great on mine.
I think so too!
Thanks for the good detailed look. My 1st choice was nitto trail grapplers but after waiting 10 months on backorder Im looking for a backup. Even the price has gone up 75$ each since I ordered them. Km3s or toyo m/t are on the radar I'd I can find them in stock.
This was a really good break down and comparison !
Thanks!!!
I had the the destination m/t from firestone they are the best tires I have ever put on my yukon 96 had them on it 5 years and never have a flat on them , the best part about them is that most of the time I didn't even put the 4x4 on to get out of the mud ,highly recommend this tires though someone else my have different opinions on them .
thats good to hear, I just put these on my 93 k1500
One of best tire reviews Ives seen . Thanks for all the info. I’m looking into the Firestone Destination MTs or the Generals. I have a 2000 Ford F-250 w/7.3l in her . Mostly road but when needed it’ll be muddy woods or Illinois corn fields getting deer out . From your review sounds like the Firestone’s . Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks
I think any of these tires would be good. Pick the one you think you would like the best. You can't go wrong.
I have had the x3 and they preformed great in everything that Florida had to throw at them. So swamp and sugar sand, also great in a rain storm on the road.
Cool
Trail grapplers do great off-road! I have ran the toyo mt, nitto trail grappler, km2, and the grabber. So far the trail grappler has done me best off-road and mileage wise. I have the Toyos on now so we will see how long they will last, but I’d never doubt the trail grapplers man they are great tires !
I would be interested to find out about how those Toyo's do.
Thermal AE maybe try Buckshot II’s mine have done me extremely well in all types of terrain mud, snow, rain, and even asphalt, I get almost 2 years out of them running between 20-30k miles a year
Campus Automotive Inc I’ll let you know! I have them mounted on a silverado. It’s on my channel! Got about 10k miles on them so far.
@@CampusautoCo ive been running them for about a year now super quiet amd really good for mud. My truck is heavy as hell but just crawls through with no problem.
So stick w the TGs or do you like the toyos? My last nittos got me 25k miles :( on my 2500 cummins. I was looking at the KM3s, but they are almost 1/8' less tread and 4.9 lbs lighter than TGs, and mk2 seem like a better tread pattern w bigger lugs. maybe the km3's closer lugs are more quieter and wear less like a AT so they are pushing that spacing boundary
Good review based on everyday observations, I does not matter where tyres are made so half the comments are stupid, Your basic facts are more than enough to point people in the right direction So well Done there, I started fitting Tyres 40 years ago and the basics are still the same even if the technology has advanced, WTG Good Job.
Excellent vid, thank You! I use Grabber X3-s on my Land Rover Discovery 1, and I found right what You said about them!
Cool. Thank you!
Have liked them? I am thinking about get it.
Yes, I like them very much! I think You will not regret the decision of buying a set of X3-s. I think I will buy a new set of X3-s when these gets worn out.
Tried Hankook Dynapro M/T, Toyo Open Country A/T, soon Toyo Open Country M/T (waiting to mount them) we'll see how they hold up. Have friends that are running the new Falken Wildpeak A/T, Nitto Trail Grappler, Nitto Ridge Grappler, General Grabber A/T along with all the other chinese "m/t" the local small tire shops are selling. Wish I had the time to do a review on all these tires, keep up the good content!
Thanks!
"Falken tire. These are my favorite tire for the guys that like falken. I wouldn't spend my own money on em" 🤣🤣
Michael D some good laughin to wrap up the video
I guess Jeep likes them. They are a stock choice on the Gladiator.
This was the best part of the video. I seriously loved it.
i have a set of at3 falkens. my prior tire experience is all i have. 5 sets of 5 BFG all terrains. my best tire ever. also ran 5 firestone mud down to nubs. both are outstanding tires. now to rate the Falken....low price but a top quality tire. great in snow on my Cherokee. and 33 in tires for 150 each delivered from amazon. try and beat that price on any of these tires. it is a price for 33's at a 31 in price. and for tire ratings....anyone purporting to rate them, needs to run each for 50K miles and then report back. otherwise is hot air, and all you can do is rate paper specs and price.i have stated my first hand experience on 3 brands of tires. paid for by me, and ran fully to wear out by me.
Falken Wildpeak best AT out now.
I have the Falken MT. it does great on rain and sand. Have not tested mud but im sure its great. the tread is one of the better looking ones
A lot of people either like them or dislike them.
I ran the Red Clay Rally last year on Falken Wildpeaks AT3s. Guess who didn't get stuck on the same trail as my teammates?? This guy. Guess who did? A 4Runnner with Coopers STTs and BFG KMs. Just saying!!!!! I drive a slightly built Second Gen Tacoma. I'm sticking with the Falkens. But good review!! Even though you hated on my Falkens!!! lol
This has been a great comparison Loved it .. I'm just waiting for my Grabber X3 tires to come in for my lifted Diesel Grand cherokee
Right on!
Well done breakdown video. I have toyo mt on my tundra and they perform great on and off road. They’re heavy but roll smooth once you get em movin.
Ilion Atroya Awesome! I have had several people tell me the same thing.
Those Firestone MT are growing on me. Just wish the side wall looked a little bit more aggressive..But tread design looks awesome! Also the General MT looks cool also! I had the KM2 before and i got way over 30k miles on them and probably could of went 50k miles out of them. However i feel like to many people have the KM3. I want something different no one really has.
Right on
I have Firestone M/T's on my Jeep Wrangler from the factory. I'm not a big fan. They seem to be wearing fine but the ride is bumpy and they are noisy.
“This is my favorite tire for a guy who has a lifted truck and doesn’t go off road.” Priceless!!! 😂😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
Lol
😂😂😂
Why would i take my everyday driver off road when i have a side by side and 4x4 quad? Idiot. Trucks suck ofd road compared to sxs people that still wheel trucks are too poor or too stupid to buy a sxs.
Gsfbffx Pdhhdf first learn how to spell 😂 second trucks off road great when set up right sxs’s break easier and need modifying to run the stuff a good truck could run
Kickass vid, man. I couldn't agree more about Nittos, LOL. I'm running those Toyos on my Jeep because of your video. Thanks for the advice.
Thanks!
very informational and educational - thank you. i'm gonna consider the general grabber x3 because of your recommendation
Awesome!
Reminds me of my toddler.. " and this is my favorite cause this , and this is my favorite cause this, and this is my favorite cause this " 😂
Correct. They keep it simple!
The only 2 tires I would consider out of that list is the Toyo and Trail Graps and those are at the bottom of mine. My top 2 that I have used and seen perform are the Cooper Discover STT Pro and the GoodYear MT/R Kevlar. Im currently running the GoodYear in a 38x14.5/r17. Other top contenders on my list also include the Maxxis Razr M/T and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss for radial/bias ply tires. This is coming from east coast wheeling which involves a lot of mud and slick, wet rock that is often covered in moss, leaves, and more mud.
I like the MT/R.
I run km2 35s on a 2dr jk w 3” lift and well tuned suspension and I LOVE those tires! Absolutely best versatility I could ask for - tame on road and beasts in the dirt and rocks. Sticky enough to get me everywhere I’ve tried. I might try the Grapplers next just for the variety. Always wanted to run a set.
Try the KM3
Campus Automotive Inc probably will - I want to try some grapplers too though. Guess I’m gonna need another Jeep. Hahaha!
Thank you for an honest opinion. Finally someone who is willing to give honest advice.
My Pleasure!
Surprised that Yokohama Geolandar M/T wasn’t in the bunch. A highly rated tire that’s similarly priced to the Firestone M/T. Enjoyed the comparison on all these higher end tires. Would like to see a comparison on the budget friendly M/T tires.
Next time!
I've run Dick Cepek tires on my Jeep since 2009 & they have been great! I've never gotten stuck with them & they have eaten 2 nails (goes in a ways, bends over, & wears down to the tread, with no leaking).
Another excellent video. Your tire knowledge and recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Glad to help!
That was a great unbiased honest review - Thank You!!
Glad it was helpful!
Best set i had on my TJ was 35" Super Swampers. They would walk through anything I put her in. Rode great on the road as well.
Back in the day I know they are what everybody had. Now there are a lot more options.
But they really suck on pavements.lol
not one of these tires will even touch swampers……..in the mud.
This commentary is awesome. I was laughing at the end.
Lol. Thanks for watching.
Great Tips, Good Stuff👍🏿😄 I was looking at set hybrids but these M/T has improve a lot more👍😀
Thank you for watching and commenting all of the time.
great in-depth review! still aiming for km3s!
Awesome!
Just bought the x3 haven’t got to put em to a test yet but im hearing lots of good about them
You will like them!
My buddy have the same size tires. I have X3s and he has KM3s. We both have around 25k miles on them and we both use the same tire pressure (33psi). His KM3s are already at the wear line and my X3s have worn about 6 millimeters
I thoroughly enjoy mine. 33s. Great in snow and mud. Great traction on dry road and in the rain too. Not very loud.
Just bought a set of X3s So far, I’m very satisfied. They’ve taken me through mudbogs I’ve had to be pulled out of with Hancook Dynapro AT/M Unfair comparison? Maybe. It is MT vs AT And I’m not knocking Hancook. They wore like iron & for the most part, not a bad tire. Just don’t go too far off-road with them
Just bought a 4wd Honda Pilot with those Grabbers already installed. Yay me.
Awesome!
Very helpful review. I have a Hummer H3 and I will choose that Toyo Open Country M/T everytime for terrain and conditions in the Ohio Valley Region.
Thank you for a honest review
Should do a durometer test on the tires. Personally would like to find a really soft compound tire
That would be cool. I would like to partner up with the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute and see what we could really test.
@@CampusautoCo That would be awesome!!! I know soft rubber sticks like glue in the offroad (in my case dirt bikes where durometer numbers are used for tires with the new expanse of sticky rubber hitting the market) example is on Lite Brite channel and their test of the Milestar Patagonia M/T and they make a point of showing the rubbers softness and relating that to traction vs no traction/slip. Mall cruisers do not need soft rubber so having real durometer numbers can further help people decide what tires are best for them for their usage Subbed now.....
The Kumho Venture A/T 51 is an all terrain tire with a soft compound that is quite nice, even in snow, though deep mud might be a bit much. My second favorite tire after Falken Wildpeak A/T3W all terrain.
If comparing Mud Terrain style tires, and Kuhmo, then the Kuhmo Road Venture M/T KL71 has been quite and smooth on the pavement; yet soft and aggressive enough to perform have well off-road the last two years on our 07 JK. Just know that they are directional tires.
Not bad.... But would’ve really liked to have seen the Buckshot mudder compared
I’ve always bought BFG cuz they are so popular with off-road teams, general public etc. I’ve had 3 (1 AT/ 2 MT) bubble and go lopsided. Had to warranty two brand new AT’s for being out of round from the factory. Bought a OBS CCLB4x4 that the guy had brand new Falken AT’s, wasn’t too stoked at first but now I love them! Quiet, smooth, ROUND lol, and do great off-road. Take it for what it is.
Man, I'm sorry to hear that.
Awesome video. Thank you sir. My Wrangler Unlimited Willy's edition came with the Firestone 32'' muds. I'm going to upgrade to the 35" General's
Very nice!
I had Big O mud terrain on my jeep I got a side wall hole while on a 4 wheeling trip When i got home I went to the dealer for warranty and found out the tire tread pattern had changed After discussing that I wanted matching tire the Big O dealer replaced all 5 of my tires no charge what so ever My Big high 5 O to Big O 😀
That is truly impressive in this day and age!!! Kudos! -> Big O!!!
Bfg km3 are by far the best tires I have used for offroading. Theyre pretty good on road as well, very quiet for a mud. Downside is that they are not cheap.
Very True!
How about the noise on the city are they loud
Sounds like a very informed and honest review of these tires
Thanks!
You had helped me to decide new tires for my Dmax ... thanks
My pleasure.
Lmao! Perfectly done I agree with you, I’m getting some grabber X3’s thanks for keeping it real bud.
Thanks!
Got the falken wildpeaks. Great grip on all terrains
That's what I hear.
Great comparison on MT tires. I have always had AT tires on my '99 Ram 1500. I now have an '07 Ram 2500. Living near the Chesapeake Bay I am more prone to using AT tires that do good on the sand at OBX. Very little mods on my trucks other than usual tire upgrades. These definitely open up the range in uses. I would like to see a hybrid tire comparison.
That's right on OBX. Don't be a clown, air down...Ask me how I know.
@@CampusautoCo I usually don't air down until I hit the sugar. I have seen many that are unaware of the air down clown, so it's fun to watch. If I lived inland, I would consider these tires. My ex is from BSG, near Norton, and I slipped a couple of times going up High Knob. Air down clown...lol
I did get stuck last summer on the sugar at Hatteras in my Ram, I had to air down and dig out a little to get free. They have signs up there.
Great informative video. I fall under the category of “ I should get the Nitto MT “ hahaha but i just love the looks of the Toyo mt the best.
Right on!
I only run mt's! You get exactly what you pay for. Let me have the original bfg mt back from the 90's
I prefer a directional tire that cleans the mud out from both sides for my mud bogging.
Those aren't mud terrains, those are boggers. A mud terrain tire is what you see in the vid, something that is great in light mud and most terrain but also solid on road. Mud terrains are for a daily that also goes off road not a dedicated trail rig.
Tsl radial super swampers .. or the swamper bogger
Just got General Grabber X3 33/10.5/15 couple of months ago and it's the best tire I've run. I've had Hankook,BF km1,2&3, Mickey Thompson,nitto,ect...this time I went from 32/11.5/15 Hankook MT to the X3 33/10.5/15 ,they cost more but are well worth the money if you hit the trails and hwy drive a lot... they are amazing 😊👍
Awesome!
I run the toyo open country mt’s on my 2500hd pickup. They do very well in the snow and wet roads. Great tires.
Cool
devoncoolman88 I’m glad to hear this I have a set on my 96 f150 but it’s my toy so it stays out of the salt I am planning to get a set for a Toyota Tacoma which I got from my dad for the winter truck it has bfg at right now and they do good but I want mt it’s between them and the bfg mt
Agree on the falkens, Two broken belts in two different sets and nearly impossible to balance.
Thanks for the feedback!
Absolutely junk, I bought them not knowing any better, cheap garbage tires. Spent the money on Toyo M/Ts, money well spent.
Funny I replaced my bfg's with Falkens on my superduty and they perform much better. For a heavy truck tire they carry a load much better and still works awesome while driving down the beach or over rocks. The bfg's didn't did well when I had a good load in my truck ad the sidewalls tend to be soft under a heavy load. Example, when I am hauling two yards of crushed granite, the Falkens feel secure and my bfg's never did.
Awesome. Thank you for your feedback.
The Firestone Destination M/T is so amazing. I can’t endorse this tire enough. Put some 35s on my truck and felt I could go anywhere.
Awesome review! Very informative! I'm split between the Grabber X3 and the KM3's. I'll get whichever has a better on-road manners because I use my FJ Cruiser as a daily driver.
Probably the KM3
Probably cooper st pros but yet not reviewed here.
Those were Trail Grapplers my Friend!
Yes sir, you are right. I'm sorry about that.
@@CampusautoCo And also, you got the side walls wrong. The "aggressive side" has the centre lugs "peaked", or "v" shaped if you like for better side grip in ruts... the other side has them flat.
yup they are.. !!!
I like how nearly every tire is your favorite tire 😂
What can I say, I love tires. We haven't even got to my favoritest tire yet.
emi123nem this is my favorite tire because........lol was funny
Grabber x3 is my favorite in this group. I'm running Goodyear duratrac right now and it's fantastic in the mountains.
I think you would be happy with the X3 once you tried a set.
I have bfg mt 2 with about 30 km on them on a 2700 lb tracker . They are 80 percent and work well. Friends with duratrak do just about as well in mud and better everywhere else .
Great job Matt! I had the Nittos on my Raptor. Excellent tires.
Thanks Ron!
Consider tread depth and actual height measurements in the next videos.
Ok
The best mud tires would have tread blocks a full inch deep or more. Kinda like some russian tires I've seen. If you look at the tread on aggressive heavy truck tires it's much deeper than these. I know they run higher psi and probably have a harder rubber compound because of the higher ground psi, but they could easily make a mud tire last 80k if they put more rubber on it.
True
I have a 78 Suburban 3/4 ton 4x4 and use the Toyo Open Country tires on it. I have used them for many years and they have performed well in mud, sand, ice, snow, and on the open road. I have not had any real problem with the ride noise and that is important as I also have my ham radio equipment in the vehicle and my hearing is not the best. All said I have used other tires and always come back to the Toyo M/T as it performs the best in my situation. As for the people in Portland, OR., I love to see them come to the high desert in the winter as I can make a large amount of money off of them when they get stuck or slide off the road in the heavy ice and snow of the Central and Eastern Oregon high desert.
Lol. You need to watch my video on the new Hankook MT2. I think it would be a good tire for your application.
