Somaliland: Lost world | Deadliest journeys

2024 ж. 19 Мам.

00:00 It is a country that officially does not exist. You won't find it on any map. Yet Somaliland has its army, its entry visa and its government. This "no man's land" as big as England is wedged between Djibouti and Somalia and is one of the trade routes for neighboring Ethiopia. Every day, dozens of outdated trucks cross
4:06 Inflation Is a major problem in Somaliland
16:22 Darkness Beats These 2 Drivers
20:39 Only Escape for the drivers are drugs
24:25 Mining Is the only solution for these villagers
Selling Camel Milk and leave are the only source of income

    • Narrators simply read a script, if there is a translation error it has nothing to do with the narrator. Also this doc was made in France so was most likely first translated to French and then from French to English, at which point it’s a game of telephone. We don’t know where the translation deviated from what was actually said but consider that the original translation was probably done by a Somaliland local who spoke French as that is much more common than a French person who speaks any African language.

Somalia as a whole has a population of 20 million and the growth rate is high and yet there are no well functioning government institutions providing services such as health, education and water. there is no proper infrastructure here. the people are divided into clans and each corrupted has a large support from his clab

But what they are doing is not working. Honor and a selfless push to create a better world is not happening there. Its more of a grab for what they can and care little about how the end result will be.
