  • The video is both interesting and entertaining. The way you've displayed the "building" process truly shows your skill and creativity as a content creator. It's fascinating to witness the transformation of the pawn into a queen, and your attention to detail throughout the process is commendable. Keep up the great work! Btw. • The cleanest way to do this problem is with the vertices: 1) Each vertex on the pawn maps to a vertex on the queen (you might have to assign them by hand, but since these models are homeomorphic, you can automate it- but automating the assignment isn’t something I know how to do yet). 2) Once each vertex on the pawn is mapped to a vertex on the queen, interpolate: lets say your transition has N = 60 frames, then each vertex on the pawn will shift towards its corresponding queen position by a factor of 1/60 (linear interpolation). (The animation might look cooler if you do a non-linear interpolation, which is just as easy to determine). 3) Reconstruct the mesh with the new vertex values. Ideally, none of the faces do anything unexpected. And v’aula. perfectly animated. This process will work for any of the chess pieces- as well as any object that has 0 holes (G0 manifolds)

    • The pawn could simply wear a tight-fitting rubber suit which, when inflated, has the shape of a queen. Yup, a rubber suit sounds kinky, but it fits the fact that the homeomorphic transformation also also a homo-morphic transfaormation. After all, the pawn becomes the "mistress" of the king.
