Canvases Who Quit Mid-Tattoo 🛑 Ink Master

2024 ж. 25 Мам.
11 610 081 Рет қаралды

Every Ink Master human canvas comes with difficulties, but the worst might be those who quit mid-tattoo. Or, in some cases, before the tattoo even starts. All these canvases quit - or were removed - during their tattoos.

  • From someone who couldn't take a whole tattoo on the chest in 1 go, I understand their pain. The tattoo's pain is not an instant pain, as many people think. It's all about endurance. The more hours go by, the worse the pain gets. In the beginning, you don't feel a thing, but After hours, it feels like a razor knife.

    @williamei3166@williamei3166 Жыл бұрын
    • That's interesting, for me it was more the opposite - it started off really painful but after an hour or two turns into a burning numb sensation. Funny thing is though, even though it hurts less at the numb stage, I also had trouble with shakes and hot flushes, so the body was still reacting worse as time went on just the pain got less.

    • Honestly? It was the complete opposite for me. I have a chest tattoo that took 6 hours (not fully finished yet due to another tattoo currently being removed to make room) and the first hour was quite sore, but then the adrenaline took over and my body started to get accustomed to the feeling. It was definitely sore after for a few days and bruised, but it definitely wasn’t too bad. It only starts feeling rough if you take a break a few hours in because that gives your adrenaline time to wear off. Of course, people’s pain tolerance can completely vary so it’s definitely a by-person thing but it’s quite strange how different your experience is to mine.

  • I got my first tattoo today. I was quite stupid, going in with no pre knowledge on tattoos or anything. Got some writing over my ribs, which was a bearable amount of pain and discomfort. I got a really great tattoo artist who somehow managed to deal with me constantly moving and changing the agreed placement of my tattoo, first it was my collarbone which I really wanted but my tattoo artist was dead against because I’m 17 and she was worried my skin would grow and ruin the tattoo then it was my arm which I wasn’t happy about but everyone (tattoo artist, friends and parent) all said I should do but right beforehand my tattoo artist noticed I seemed upset and recommended we do it on my ribs. I immediately agreed because it seemed a lot better to me than my arm but unfortunate she forgot to tell me just how painful rib tats are. In the middle of the tattoo, she tells my friends that she’s too scared to get a rib tat (she’s covered in tats btw) because of the pain. Anyway, this comment means nothing I just wanted to tell someone about my experience. *EDIT:* I’m 18 now and heading back to the same artist for two more tattoos, this will be next week. She still refuses to do my collarbone, which is a sad but my new tattoo ideas will definitely not be on my collarbone anyway. I’d like them on wrist and on my forearm (different arms), my tattoo artist has said she thinks the wrist will be too painful to tattoo and possibly grow like my collarbone (so won’t do it if she thinks it hasn’t grown since my last visit) and my forearm might not be bigger enough for what I want do. But we’ll find out when I get there, and if necessary hopefully be able to move it to another place I like. My current tattoo is 9 months old now and healed amazingly, some people on here are saying I should of taken the cover off sooner (I left it for 3 days) and had water on it sooner (I waited 2/3 months and covered it when I showered), whilst you maybe right, that’s what my artist adviced. And she was right because it didn’t get infected or heal incorrectly. I’m a body piercer now so I know some people can get really luck (do everything wrong and it still heals fine) and others can be really unlucky (do everything right and it gets infected) but this is what worked for me my last time and as I have no other tattoos and am not a tattoo artist (yet), I’ll got with what the artist says because she was right before. I usually don’t follow other more experienced body piercers just because they have more experience but that’s because I’m a piercer and I’ve seen all their bad habits and mess up someone badly before and get away with it (can’t sue body piercers or tattoo artists in my country after you filled out a consent form). But I’m not a tattoo artist and until I am one, I’ll go with one who I trust. *EDIT 2:* Got my second tattoo two days ago. Still have the wrap on and going to wait another day before removing it. It’s extremely itchy and looks like ink is seeping out, this didn’t happen before with my first tattoo. I’m going to follow the same aftercare which worked really well for my first tattoo but several things look very different which makes me nervous. What should I do if ink is coming out? I’ve seen people with ‘bags’ of ink and those did not heal well. I showered yesterday and my tattoo got wet a lot but the wrap is still on, should I be worried about that? *EDIT 3:* Just removed the wrap, a few hours earlier than planned to so technically only had it on for 2 and a half days. It looks bad, lots of ink missing and almost looks like a temporary tattoo. I don’t know what’s wrong. I put a coco butter lotion on it immediately after removing the wrap, then realised the lotion contains Vaseline (was told not to use Vaseline by artist) and panicked. Also used a cream my mother gave me, forgot the name but the ingredients looked fine to me. I really hope this heals but I’m very worried, the healing journey is completely different from my first tattoo which was way smaller. Also this tattoo is itchy and burns a bit.

      @Tonyseil@Tonyseil9 ай бұрын
    • @@Tonyseil Thanks! It’s been almost 5 months and fortunately it healed really well, most tattoos take at least 6 months to heal but I’d say mine is already healed. And i didn’t do that much, mainly just putting coconut cream on it day and night and avoiding water on it for 2/3 months. I’ve completely stopped with that now and it still looks great and overall I’m really happy with it. I’m eager to get another one, a more planned out one, but it’s difficult as I’m still 17 and had to go out of my country to get this one. I think I’m just going to wait till I turn 18 so I can get it where I live. Also tattooing my ribs was definitely uncomfortable but really not that bad, I’ve definitely had worse with all the piercings I have. I’m also not worried about the pain of my second tattoo because it won’t be on my ribs which is the most painful place to tattoo. I’m kinda happy I started on my ribs, even if I definitely should of known how painful it was before, because now I have tattooed the worst place to tattoo so the next one that won’t be on my ribs should be a breeze. Hope this helps!

She was definitely right about your collar bones, that area grows a lot, especially for females due to their breasts. I'd wait till you in your mid 20s or until your sure you wont grow anymore and then you can get a collar bone tattoo 😊

    • @@stitchedmouthgirlYour tattoo was healed long before five months. It's good that you kept your skin hydrated with something else, but unless the water you would be using is dirty (and I'm hoping that's not the case), there's zero reason to keep water away from a tattoo for 2 or 3 months. Really, anything more than a day is unhelpful, because then you're just layering in more and more lotion without cleaning properly, and that's a huge infection risk. Water is the enemy in the first maybe 18 to 24 hours. Beyond that, it's fine. (And by water, I mean the stuff that comes out of your faucets. Not a pool, not the ocean, etc.)

    • A biomechanical tattoo appears as if parts of the human body are made of mechanical parts. It sounded to me like he was looking to have a tattoo that was more robotic (as if everything was made of mechanical parts) instead of biomechanical (parts of the body are mechanical and parts are human). She was obviously worried she would loose the challenge if she did a robotic tattoo instead of a biomechanical tattoo. I definitely see where she was coming from. Volunteering for this competition as a canvas isn't just about getting a free tattoo. The artist is expected to do certain types for each competition. You can't be told to do a flower tattoo and have a canvas who demands an animal tattoo. You'll loose that competition if you do what they ask.

That's why I agree that this shouldn't even be a show (as entertaining as it is). HOWEVER, being that it is a show, the canvases sign up for BEING a canvas. Its not supposed to be the same as going into a shop and getting a tattoo. Its gonna be kind of rushed, and it has to meet some criteria. You shouldn't sign up to be a canvas if you're not cool with that.

    • ISATOU CEESAY it’s hard to describe and it depends on where on your body and how long you have been in the chair. The first first five minutes of outlining on your shoulder feels like a slow cat scratch, the 6th hour on the chair getting your elbow colored in feels like someone stabbed you with a knife that is vibrating while they are pinching all your nerves at the same time and punching you in the bones while on fire with a thousand red ants eating an open flesh wound. It hurts, really bad. Anybody who tells you it doesn’t hurt either has a really small tattoo in a not painful spot, or they are lying. Some places hurt a lot more than others and the longer you are in the chair the more it hurts because your adrenaline starts to wear off and your body starts to feel the pain a lot more. That is your breaking point and everybody has a different breaking point. For me I start to get tired around 3 hours and after 4 hours I’m done. Some people can sit there for 6 hours like a champion.

    • Tyler Syn hurts no matter what and it’s like an earthquake every hour after 4 hours is 10 times more painful. So hour 5 is 10x worse than hour 4 and hour 6 is ten times worse than 5, etc. When people who have one 15 minute tattoo are like “tattoos don’t hurt, I know I have them.” I just want to be like.... no, no you have tattoos, you have your astrological sign for Gemini that took 10 minute and you have no idea. Until feel the outline, then the shading, then the color you don’t know. Until you have had them go over your elbow, which hurt even more then my ribs, 5 times because the color isn’t taking, you don’t know. Tattoos hurt, really really bad.
