There is absolutely nothing wrong with generic fragrances.
But I've heard lots of feedback from many of you that you're either tired of seeing the same mainstream fragrances in fragrance content over and over, or that you're a little jaded with the mainstream designer market in general.
This video is merely meant to serve as a reminder that there are some gems out there! I'm highlighting just 8 of them here, and I hope you enjoy them if you're able to try them for yourself.

I would add most of the Guerlains to this list
I second and third that motion.
Crazy how such an old house is still somehow “under the radar”. My first was Idéale Cologne and it was love at first smell lol
Pie is really nice
Guerlain is a niche house
@@Alritealritealritethat’s not by Guerlain
Tom Ford Noir is a niche fragrance in a designer package, truly creative masterpiece.
I had given it a quick sniff a few times in store before whilst trying other scents and not really thought much of it, but I sampled it again recently after hearing Justin rave about it and wow… it really is interesting stuff. I totally get the hype. 🙌🏻
@@SirSillageSniffington the thing about it is you need to experience the whole fragrance from start to finish, as it changes so much from first spray until the dry down. which is why it's one of my all time favs
Damn, what a list. The fact I own 3 of them made me go looking for the rest. Guilty absolute is my favorite divisive frag ever. My gf and a lot of people around me despise it but i cant stop using, I really love it, it's so different. Also it was made by Alberto Morillas, king of fresh scents, so I like to think the one day he decided to say ''fk it' and made this one.
I find Encre Noire A L'Extreme so sophisticated yet easy to wear with a hoody on a cold day. I find it to be introspective as well as Gucci Guilty Absolute. They have a 'grounding' effect.
100k in sight
I'm always on the lookout for fragrances non generic....purchased a few on your recommendation and been pleased with all of them
l'intense is my favourite from the l'homme line, only thing that i wish was the longevity was better
Just got the Guerlain L'Homme ideal intense last week, and it blew my mind away, haven't smelled anything like that, great longevity and projection as well. def. one of the best fragrance I have tried.. Gotta try the Hermes L'ombre.. Haven't tried the original TF Noir EDP, but I have Noir extreme EDP and Parfum.. Tried Black Orchid Parfum, it's too dark for me lol If you like Gucci Guilty Absolute, you gotta try Bvlgari Man Terrae Essence, it's one of the best woody, earthy fragrance I have had. great video as always.. 🤍
This is what frag comm is all about…..introducing us to unique, wonderful fragrances!! Thank you JC because most of us are already dropping p*nties and getting compliments! 100k before the summer! 🤞🏾💯💪🏾
Haha! Appreciate you!
I absolutely LOVE that Pasha Noir Absolu!!! It's BEAUTIFUL in the AIR!!!
Noir edp.... Grew on me too.... And now i love it... Its beautiful.......
Great video with some great choices in there and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day
Hello Justin, great job I'm digging the video and list! TOM FORD NOIR IS a favorite of mine. Stay safe brother
Great Video. Much appreciated.
i love guerlain That's the fragrance that got me into creamy fragrances absolute masterpiece
I have and love both Encre Noire À L'Extrême and Gucci Guilty Absolute. The Encre Noire is definitely classy and is all business. The Gucci Guilty Absolute seems like it could suit either a bad boy vibe or an authoritarian persona. Regardless, it's one of the more interesting fragrances in my collection. I picked up both for a steal!
Gucci Guilty Absolute is my Winter go to for upscale occasions. I value your opinion JC and I'll definitely be getting my nose on these
Merveilles is next on my list of Hermes. Such on overlooked house. Recently picked up Voyage Parfum and un jardin en Mediterranee and loving both of them, especially Mediterranee. Such an amazing juniper, cypress and fig combo
Yeah the Pasha Noir is 🔥 woody smoky caramel with the pasha dna hinting in the backround. Also how it's own uniqueness and identity is formed. I blind bought this and was impressed. I might add this may not be for everybody and recommend getting a sample.
Great topic great talk great picks as always
Much appreciated
Perfect explanation 👍
Thank you
Love Gucci guilty absolute in the winter. It’s my go to when I get tired of all the sweet scents
I tried Bottega Venetta mostly thanks to you and really love it. I love pine and juniper.
Great to hear!
Stunning list....
Well appreciated 🎉topic
I'm glad to see Black Orchid Parfum in the lineup. 100k sub count coming soon, congratulations!
Thank you!
Video idea: If you could have one perfume line for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I have and love both fragrances from Tom Ford and the one from Hermes. The last two are on my wish list for the near future.
Noir and the Gucci are outstanding 👌
Love this video. L' Homme Ideal Intense is one of my favorites in my collection and my favorite cardamom perfume. Love Botega and I had a bottle years ago that I used to the last drop, now I can't find it. TF Noir EDP is lovely but very powerful, love it, never owned it though. Encre Noir a L' Extreme and Gucci Guilty Absolute are both among favorites in my collection. Both very polarizing. I smelled Pasha Noir absolu, I think it is interesting but maybe not enough for me to get it. It is a bit cloying, but I do like (not love) it. Black Orchid edp is nice and I do like it more than the original, but still not enough to get it. I smelled L' Ombre Des Merveille a long time ago, but it didn't move me much, can't remember the experience now, so maybe a revisit soon.
Apparently Ojar is now available in the US (judging off of your screen recording). You’ve got to try them, they’re amazing. I have Wood Whisper and Infusion Velours. I believe you might like Red Redemption (lots of clean rose) and Eagle Eyed Stranger (smells a bit like Quentin Bisch’s style)
I bling bought Ideal Intense because of you. I loved it right away. I have the EDP as well but the Intense is more my style for the smoke and spicy notes. Thank you very much for preaching the intense for a while now Also, im pretty new to your channel but I can say you're the best. Honest, down to earth, and reminded me that we started this journey for ourself not for others so wear what you like!
Thank you Christian!
Hey, JC, I have one different designer fragrance to recommend too! L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Pour Homme, I just tried it recently and it blew my mind. A walk through a forest besides the sea, it's a short way to describe it! Many say that it's discontinued but I see that it's readily available here in Greece. Also +1 from me for Bottega! Keep up the good work!
Sounds great! Need to try it!
I like this spot you you recorded in
Thank you!
L´Ombre des Merveilles is a really relaxing fragrance for me. Beautiful. I like Gucci Guilty Absolute and Lalique EN L´Extreme, but I like No Limits by Philipp Plein even more.
Fantastic choices here. I'm so tired of niche snobs (and I speak as a niche fan) pulling out the "designers are generic/boring" argument. There is absolutely a way to wear designers and still stand out from the crowd. 👍
Lalique Encre Noire a L'extreme smells similar to YSL M7 Oud Absolu. It's when I sprayed it M7 on that's what came to mind immediately but M7 is more wearable
IMO most of Guerlain, Cartier, Issey Miyake, Lalique, Hermes & Gucci are quite interesting 🤔. Nothing generic about them. Sometimes Kenzo too.
Funny enough I purchased Tom Ford Black Orchid EDP two days ago. Smelled it in Sephora and it blow me away. Had to get it even though it's months later
Hey Mr Copeland think you might a have Guerlain Lhomme Ideal Parfum review coming out shortly?
If I can get it!
”This is not a fragrance that smiles at you. This is not a fragrance that makes you feel welcome.” 😂 Now i HAVE to get Tom Ford Noir!
Hand bags in the forest, audio engineering allusions, and incredible descriptions... this is about as close as it gets to perfection for me. Bravo sir, and many blessings!!! Let's go 💯 k!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, thank you!
For me I saw a good bit of a breather when I got Kenzo Homme EDP and Guerlain L'homme Ideal EDP and EDT (yes I have a problem lmao)
TF Noir EDP has long been one of my favourites, I've run out and been searching for alternatives, Matin a Mador is apparently one that bears resemblances so I have it ordered and I'll give my opinions on how it compares. Hermes Mervilles L'ombre is also probably my favourite from Hermes, beating H24 EDP and TDH EDT for me, reminded me to pick it up since I finished all my Hermes offerings. One that isn't on the list but I love is Bvulgari Terrae essence as a vetiver fragrance slightly similar to TDH but more masculine, smoky and petrol-like. It's bitter and gives a bit of lipstick from the orris note. I love it to death but a bit hard to wear.
Hermès definitely makes unique fragrances 👌👌
Just bought Cartier Déclaration EDT for 95CHF which is around 100$ which is ridiculous for this level of quality. I also had several bottles of Déclaration d'Un Soir. guys the Déclaration line is at another level for scent quality as well as their longevity. it is definitely a designer fragrance line that doesn't smell generic.
L' ombre des Merveilles is outstanding! Its the signature scent of a female friend & so mysterious, sexy & unique! Simple but complex at the same time. The tea & incense combo does something I cant explain. Like a Black Widow fragrance... A masterpiece by Christine Nagel!
@Justin, do you have interest on Cartier - L'Envol Parfum?
Yes I do
I totally clicked on your vlog bcos I’m so damn nosy 👃🏽to find out what to add to my list of decants… is that ok with you? 😌 lol On another note (no pun intended) My fav Guerlain fragrance currently is Santal Royal heavy rose, but amazing. I also love to layer it with so many of my other fragrances.
😆 Santal Royal is great!
@@stayfreshproductions glad you agree! Spring is here alas! can’t wait for some of your spring/ summer collection reviews.
Pasha Noir Absolu reminds me of a confident, middle-aged university professor. I can't wear it, but I hope to be able to one day
I heard Noir described as what a vampire would wear. That made buy it. Love it.
guilty absolute is so good
I would add Torino 22 by Xerjoff. Not a huge Xerjoff fan, but Torino 22 has me in a choke hold. Bought 3 bottles immediately after sampling it. Not designer per say, but worth a mention imo
Can you make a video about the dangers of perfumes? I love frangrances and I have a collection myself but sometimes I just doubt the fact that they are safe for your skin.
I’ve been asked that several times and have considered it. There are different, conflicting theories/explanations about that. Unfortunately I don’t believe there is a definitive answer.
Guilty Absolute is easily my favorite Gucci. The Encre Noir A l"Extreme is wonderfu,l, definitely one of the kings of price point choices. And... I think to me, I'm already saying too much by mentioning that Pasha flanker in this sentence.
Question. JV Vintage related, I’ve smelled it and want it, what is the best price point I should look to buy this at?
40USD max. Likely find little cheaper.
Definitely under $40
Cartier's Pasha Noir Absolu Parfum should not be confused with Pasha Edition Noir, which is an edt quite generic that reminds me of Dylan Blue or any other typical blue edt. The greatest from the line is still, for me, the Pasha edp. Another greatest one from Lalique, beyond the most well known Encre Noir series, is the pour Homme Equus (the Horse), sometimes found at incredible prices.
I think L' Eau d'Issey Intense can easily be included in this list
Idk Black Orchid dont appeal to me I think I might have unpopular opinion. But I been really enjoying The Godfather by Alexandria fragrances which is meant to be a clone of Baraonda by Nasomatto Thoughts?
I’m not really a fan of clones myself
@@stayfreshproductions I’d say its inspired by rather than a clone
But do they last a year like Sauvage elixir doe?
To be honest, I think you are holding back when talking about these fragrances. I know most of them and they are actually excellent options. I like to see how your good taste has evolved. I always look forward to your content.
I’m not sure I understand what you mean by holding back. But thank you
I am a 28 year old male and have owned the same TF Noir for many years now. I just never wear it. I can't find an occasion to wear it. It was giving to me as a gift so the bottle is completely full. Just collecting dust which is sad. Maybe it'll grow on me.
I dont understand why you dont describe TF Noir as powdery especially.
That’s ok.
@@stayfreshproductions great video btw!
, Gucci guilty is something you gotta get your nose 👃🏾 on sweet leather scent but not for everyone but if you like leather give it a try
Have you tried Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Parfum? The addition of the cardamom note intrigues Me.
Years ago! Good stuff.
Guerlain is designer? Which products? 🙂
Beauty. Not exclusively fragrances
Pasha De Cartier Noir Absolu is Niche quaility! I've tried it a couple of weeks ago and it smelled like Caramel drizzled in an ashtray that is full of cigarette butts. Absolutely yummy..
👍👍
I think Guerlain is niche
Blurry lines
Love your content, but not feeling this one. It's almost summer, and most of these picks are not wearable right now. I am looking for content that is relatable.
I think he had similar videos in the past. I wouldn't fuss too much tho, contents like these are still heavily enjoyable 😬
Lol. Cool.
@@jasonadi2003 of course is enjoyable, which is why I am subscribed and watching. BTW, I can't find anything summer related from him from this year. Perhaps my approach was wrong, which I can accept. Point being, it's just about summer. Please share opinions on fragrances that are appropriate for today, not 8 months from now.
