A weapons manufacturer and former Soviet military translator, he used his multiple companies to smuggle arms from Eastern Europe to Africa and the Middle East during the 1990s and early 2000s. Bout gained the nicknames the "Merchant of Death" and "Sanctions Buster" after British minister Peter Hain read a report to the United Nations in 2003 on Bout's wide-reaching operations, extensive clientele, and willingness to bypass embargoes.

That the conditions of her time in prison were not to a better standard for her time there. To relate her situation as a mistake, like leaving your keys in your car. Yes, that can happen true enough by being irresponsible in a moment. But she broke a law in a foreign society and now she wishes to profit from it. Turning lemons into lemonade. I will pray for her to examine herself and take the Bible and follow God's plan for her journey to the right way of life. As I will pray to examine myself. The user will most likely keep this most cherished product in their pocket, or possibly a bag, BUT THEY DEFINITELY KNOW WHERE IT IS. And then throw in the activity of traveling to RUSSIA, where she knows it is FORBIDDEN! No no. Sorry girl. You thought that there was no way you would get caught, and you were most likely very successful in your smuggling in the past. Sorry, deserved anything she got. A person is VERY stupid for trying to pull this off. And the biggest reason for that is that marijuana withdrawal is not that bad, at least compared to some other drugs. • S"he" has shown us over her whole career who she really is- guns, abuse, jail, drugs... if this was an NFL player this wouldn't be a book or on GMA. GmA should be ashamed for giving Griner two days on the morning show...

  • She skipped the line. I give her credit for not lying and claiming it was planted on her but that means this situation was completely her fault. She should have been forced to stay over there and be the second or third American citizen to be set free. I am glad she is advocating for others now that she is home but that is the least she can do. She was not “ wrongfully detained “ as our government was saying unlike some of the others left in Russia. She was arrested with cause.

    • You can criticize your country and still love it. I think if you really love your country, you would point out ways it needs to improve. Unless you think your country is perfect? Or your satisfied that it’s better than here or there or how it used to be?

  • One country demands all other countries must follow their laws. Respect the laws of the country you visit, regardless who or how ridiculous they are.
