Woiii....my mum really deprived us of the most beautiful thing about the core of who I am. Kwetu hatungeskiza kikuyu, ukiongea kikuyu sana she would see it as ushamba. To this day I crave to experience my true culture. I find myself looking for old kikuyu songs( we had bags and bags of Kikuyu CDs- over 200 that my father had bought before his untimely passing in 2013. Sundays akiwa home tulikuwa tunajua TV ni yake) I just pray I get a good hardworking Kikuyu man to marry. I have never even dated one but at my very core I crave being in a totally Kikuyu union. Much love my fellow tribes men and women❤️

I used to cry everytime my parents would tell me that this song had played on radio when I was absent. When they sent me anywhere they'd say, 'usikae, hii ndiyo masaa ya wimbo yako'😂 Hearing it on Citizen TV Inooro advert makes me happy

I'm a luo and I love this tune. This is my 2nd best after Cucu wagakunga. Funny how these songs are giving me goosebumps and I can't understand what he is singing about. This song brings back a lot of childhood memories..when my dad would come home late night drunk af anaweka hii ngoma kwa ile radio ya cassette full blast then anaamsha mathe saa nane ya usiku mbuzi ichinjwe🤦🏽‍♀️ back then i would enjoy so much but now that im grown i know how mum felt... anyway now my dad is a born again Christian who is so so deep in salvation...i like this song so much though
