Dave2D review of the HP Omen X 2S - the world's first double screen gaming laptop. This is the best gaming laptop from HP but is it legit?
Available Here - amzn.to/2JW9VoC
With an RTX 2080 MaxQ and i7 9750H, the HP Omen X 2S is a VERY powerful gaming laptop.

  • I spent HOURS trying to use that zoomed sniper scope feature. Do you think there's a game that would make use of this? Thanks for watching!

Was getting some throttling and used a -.110 under volt and now nothing, CPU temp was peaking at 90, now 82, most of the time in mid 70’s during games, overall a great product, I’d recommend.

It's like a dashboard in a car, really useful to have to troubleshoot any problems. I would use this laptop in a similar way. Although running Twitch or other videos would be great for some games too. It seems like a poor use of space though. They could have put some grills on the sides & improved airflow a little. Liquid metal is a good move though. I'm running Conductonaut on my MSI GS65.

  • I think this double screen laptops are actually great for developers. You can have your main content on big screen like your editor or browser and your terminal in the small screen.

    @dccommesse4373@dccommesse43734 жыл бұрын
    • Nope. Like most devs, I simply run dual displays. Second 24 inch screen can be really cheaply bought, and you'll usually have your IDE on screen 1, and your browser plus multiple terminal windows on the second screen. The second screen is way too small to be useful on this laptop. This laptop is vastly overpriced junk for developers (and I've been a software dev since 1981, so I have a little bit of experience.. :))

  • I think that secondary display issue is mainly because of the angle the eye has to rotate, view and rotate back. An inclined movable hinge feature for the secondary display might solve the issue (sort of like panning it closer to the primary display at an angle). I would be interested if any OEM implements that.

  • It seems to benefit those twitch or other game-streaming people, which they can see live comments from the secondary screen, which they normally get an additional monitor to do so.

I mainly use the Asus Pro Duo for creative development, but if I had to choose a laptop for gaming I would probably still choose Asus. Hoping the HP Omen will innovate in the future though
