Everything About Living in Space

2016 ж. 13 Қаз.
1 738 346 Рет қаралды

With only five minutes but an unlimited number of questions, you can find out what it’s really like to live on the International Space Station-if you also have NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman, who spent 165 days in space during Expeditions 40 and 41 in 2014. Listen as Wiseman answers the questions you would ask about real life in zero g: how big is the space station, is it very hot or cold there, was the food any good, did you prank-call anyone from orbit, and many many more.

    • First I go to the NASA ISS web site and put in your area code for when you can view it. I have seen a dozen times here in Memphis. It will always come from the west and looks like a really bright star moving fast and can usually view it for 2-4 minutes just after sunset and before sunrise. The way you can tell it's not a plane is if you do not see any blinking lights. The space station does not have any external navigation lights and what you are seeing is the suns reflection off of it. 👍🏻

    • Are you going to Mars? Lucky we can't get out of lower orbit, NASA says. Radiation levels are too high, to go through van Allen belts, I wonder how we did it 6 times in 4 years going to the moon. I guess the tech was better back in the 60s and 70s. Wait did we fake it, did we fake space travel, well not this time, not mars cause its closer than our moon. Wait its further away? what's going on here, am I being deceived? Could they be taking our money 1/10 of a penny from every dollar earned, from every working citizen in the country and giving us Walt Disney Garbage? I guess if you can't make it, then you better fake it.

    @stevoofd@stevoofd7 жыл бұрын
    • True, time passes very slightly slower in orbit than it does on Earth. However, we're talking fractions of a second, even over the course of months. On the other hand, the stresses of space travel age astronauts noticeably faster, due to adverse effects on their bones, muscles, blood vessels, etc.

      @Adaj.@Adaj.7 жыл бұрын
