  • Pat isn’t underpaid (by a lot.) All the other teams are overpaying for their QBs and can’t surround their QB with good enough talent for a Super Bowl. If you want to win a Super Bowl, you can’t overpay your QB. Most teams overpay their QB because it makes sense financially. A good overpaid QB brings in fans which brings in money. They deliver winning seasons and have a shot at playoff wins. The Chiefs want super bowls and you would think Florio and the rest of the media would prefer that but instead they use it to take cheap shots. Just because a lot of teams overpay their QB for non-competition reasons, doesn’t mean Pat is underpaid.

    • @@brianmurray7980 😄 because he was in double coverage at all times & until Rice was good enough between the numbers to draw focus like Juju had before etc. he had zero chance. Check out Big Red's interview with Peter King on this. Also, Kurt Warner's breakdown of the KC offence in the first half of the SB. That will show you what was happening all season & it had nothing to do with Trav. The other players were combining a complete lack of discipline to assigned routes, with a total lack of awareness of both the coverage and what the other route runners would be doing. Trav didn't just have to do with the best in the NFL gameplanning just around him. He had to deal with his teammates running defenders into his space constantly.

    • Florio has been obsessive about Andy Reid retiring and how Clark Hunt has spent his money for years. It's really weird, because KC is the only franchise he has these terrible takes about. Far worse organizations and bad spending from owners out there. Far more underpaid and overpaid guys. Up until a couple of months ago, Reid was the third oldest active coach but there were no "he is retiring after this year" segments the last few years about Belichick or Carroll. Everyone has the same salary cap, but the Chiefs are cheap. It's been really strange watching Florio just stick by these 'out of left field' takes the last four years. It's like some uninformed scout told him that Clark Hunt is cheap and Andy is retiring at the combine 5 years ago and instead of asking these people directly, he just makes stuff up and runs with it. Very weird behavior for many years. He gets mad if the Chiefs don't pay, he gets mad when the Chiefs pay. He gets mad that Andy is still coaching and he'll get mad when he retires. He gets mad that Chris Jones was underpaid and he gets mad that he got paid because it wasn't another team that paid him. Weirdo.

The more they pay the stars, the more guys will get league minimum, and the more mid level veterans will get pushed out for cheaper rookies. You're hurting the ones who really need the money so that the ones who are already raking it in get a little more. So hypocritical for someone who is constantly bitching about the owners turning a profit.

  • If the Chiefs don't win it all this year, I'm betting he retires. If they win again, I can easily see him, Mahomes, and Jones on the field after the game saying, "You know? No one has ever won four in a row before." And if I remember right, the other teams didn't get a chance to off Jones so much money he had to leave. I think the Chiefs closed their deal before the legal tampering period started. I'm sure he knew he could make more money (possibly a LOT more) if he had waited for other teams to jump in, but from everything he said on the field after the Super Bowl to the parade, he really wanted to stay in KC. I think the Chiefs have been really lucky that except for Tyreek, all their biggest stars have been more interested in their legacy and winning as many Super Bowls as they can than they are with squeezing out every dime from each contract. Their big three, Mahomes, Kelce, and Jones have all been underpaid, and while all three have had increases in their pay recently, all of them could have probably earned a lot more if they really wanted to put the screws to the Chiefs or, in Jones's case, waited for free agency. Probably helps that they all seem to really love the group they've got going on, both in teammates and coaches. I know if I was there, going to play for any other coach, would sure seem like a step down from Reid.

  • You forget the added revenue he brings in atm. Imagine him holding out a few months or demanding a trade. Hey New York or LA got a spot on your roster for a man with a Girlfriend and all her friends?

  • Kelce lead the NFL TE';s in yards per game this year. Sat out 2 games and missed 1,000 yards by 16 yards. And he dominated the Playoffs. But he isn't good anymore? Clown. With the worst WR group in the NFL.

  • If the presence of Taylor Swift in Travis Kelce’s life can add hundreds of millions of dollars to the NFL coffers and foster the increase of the salary cap, the Chiefs can pony up some for Travis Kelce. Just saying

  • Kelce wouldn’t really be the super star they’re talking about if Taylor swift weren’t dating him. No offence to the sports guys, but they’re not really understanding how the rest of the world aka entertainment industry are seeing Travis Kelce - it’s not OMG this guy is so good at football.. it’s OMG this guy is Taylor Swift’s most handsome, talented and suitable boyfriend
