Engwe X26 - 50 mile review

The X26 is a vey capable backroad traveler. Has no problem handling fields and unpaved roads and paths. I was skeptical about a "folder bike" being able to handle the rough terrain out here but have seen no structural issues with it at all.
I will probably replace the pedals since I don't intend to fold it up. But this one is a keeper for me.

  • Good review just subd 👍 I have an Engwe I've put 1200 miles on my X26 in 8 weeks But I prefer long distance pedaling from the rear seat - beach cruiser style , works ok with a aftermarket 130mm handlebar headstock extension to give laid back riding position. pump rear shocks up around 120 -150 psi depending on terrain for extra damping. I like the Engwe cruise control when initiated holding up button 3 seconds, cruise also keeps it below 200 watts @ 9-10 mph in eco/ normal pedal assist mode 👍 X26 Problems in 8 weeks hard riding = 1. auxiliary cross bar battery rattle if not stopped leads to battery self-destructing - the terminals disintegrate. fix = wrap 50mm gorilla tape around front of battery to eliminate rattle. order new terminal block from Engwe!! 2.Main seat post Battery drops when riding over rough terrain = leading to connection bottoming out on frame and battery connector self destructing because it passes the minimum height setting😬 fix= order new battery connector from Engwe prevent battery bottoming by putting a stop bolt underneath the battery just above it minimum height setting 🤦 3.standard 26x4 " fat tyre inner tubes are very prone to punctures ,had 4 punctures in 2 weeks 😬 fix = installed heavy duty 6mm thick motorcycle inner tubes , so far NO more flats in 6-700 miles 🤞

  • Neat bike. I do RAGBRAI ( bike ride across Iowa), I'm really surprised that these companies that market these bike don't include ( in my eyes the most crucial safety item) a mirror tethered to the front left fork or the front left handlebar. It's critical to always know what's behind you at all times. You guys rock!!!

    • I used to ride a lot, did some triathlons. But never worried about a mirror because I could hear a car coming. I might put a mirror on these bikes because the big knobby wheels definitely make some noise

  • Damn, that's one of the nicer looking e-bikes I've seen, but sounds like it's not a good option for us lil dudes.

  • Awesome review! I just my x26 delivered a few days ago. Does it have a way to show the percentage of battery you have left while you’re riding? I haven’t been able to locate it if it does.

    @slloyd25@slloyd259 ай бұрын
    • Mine shows percent at the very top of the screen

    • @@breakheartorchard4761 ok. I’ve seen that, but I’ve ridden 20+ miles at a time and it still shows 100%. So I attributed that percentage to the console percentage.

    • @@slloyd25 i rode last week for about 14 miles and did about 15 today without a recharge. Didn’t have to go to the reserve battery but was down to 42’% when I got back. Are you riding flat ground? And how much throttle vs assisted pedal?

    • @@breakheartorchard4761 I'm using sport mode, pedaling about 60 percent of the time, and engaging the throttle about 40 percent. I get the power up to about 1100W until i get up to about 24MPH, then i relax it and repeat. The terrain has about 15 large hills, and plenty of flat spots also.

  • hello just curious do you recommend the heybike brawn over the X 26? great review

    @badennis@badennis5 ай бұрын
    • It depends on some factors. I love the brawn. It is a great bike. But, at 6,2” it is just slightly undersized for me. Inseam 34. I just feel like I cant the full range of motion that I need. I love everything else about it. Now, the X26, I didn’t expect to like it because I had seen some other reviews that focused on the the limited range of the triple suspension and the quirkiness of the folding feature. But every ride, I like the X26 more. No, it isn’t a bad ass full suspension that you could use on big downhill drops, but on dirt track or backroads, it soaks up the bumps more than any other I’ve ridden. It has huge battery life and its big enough for my frame. It all depends on what you need.

  • Matthew 9:20-22 King James Version 20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. Gods blessings over you .
