How to Build The Asmund Leather Armour - Part 2
A step by step look at how to put together either one of my DIY Leather Armour kits available through our online store at Black Raven Armoury or also available as Digital Patterns via my Online Academy, where I run various online courses teaching the entire design process.
As always, any questions, please just comment and I'll help however I can.

  • This is so beautiful! As others have said, I'd love to see more of your patterns on here as demos. And also seeing them on an actual person would be cool too to see how it all moves. Amazing work.

    • I’ve never really done the videos to keep the cost of the pattern on my academy down. Instead we invested the time to make the print ones that detailed I rarely get questions. As for models… I’ve never used them as it’s a bit fake… plenty of people wandering around the events in our creations. If you haven’t visited the Facebook page, we have quite a community.

  • Amazing work! I cannot wait to dig into your book!=)=) About how long does it take to build a piece like this from start to finish??

  • Alex have you considered doing a build tutorial for your other patterns as well?

    • Sadly between the volume of students in my Academy and the client projects, lack of time is our enemy. This said, I’ve seen hundreds of these and other designs of mine built, proving the videos really are a bit of a luxury. Personally I’d rather invest the time creating more courses and patterns than go over old ground too much

  • I tried doing the steel wool in the finest I could get 0000 and it gives the leather a matte look and removes the shine from it also makes it look faded and not popping like you have. How do you keep the shine whe using the steel wool?

    @heathneptune2330@heathneptune23302 жыл бұрын
    • I teach people to only use medium grade steel wool, but the actual key is to seal after staining, which is what gives the shine.

  • You're missing out on a substantial revenue stream on KZhead doing tutorials

    • Thanks Jason, never really was a you tube bunny and free videos don’t pay the bills ☺️, thankfully I built an online school www.blackravenacademy.com/

    • With the amount of viewers you would have for pattern tutorials. You would be monetized... unless you dont know how this works. So " luckily you have an online school " sure ..... and fyi. I was one of the first ppl to sign up years ago. And then signed up to by your patterns ... just looking to offer a suggestion to keep supporting you. 🤷‍♂️

    • @@jasonmundt4206 thank you, genuinely that’s appreciated, it’s just KZhead doesn’t pay out the way it used to… we looked into this & the market simply isn’t large enough to get millions of views per video ☺️
