The peasant woman is actually one of the best recruits to get because the skill tree lines up with the only troops that can get plate armor.
they're expensive tho, even though the armor is great and weapon choices are decent, it's not cost effective to fill more than a few of them.

It's simply a great delivery. The gameplay is fluid and fair, you can make the game as hard or as easy as you want it to be, the progression over time is great. That's why Bannerlord is my most anticipated game since... Well, i'm not sure.

yeah dont know about that part the last three times i got raided right at the start (after the tutorial quest) but will see thanks for cheering me up
A huge part of the game is figuring out which fights are opportunities and which ones you need to run away from, a good rule of thumb is you will be faster than an army larger than yours, and slower than a smaller force. One of the tracking skills modifies this, as well as the horse-to-foot composition of your army, how high their morale is, and how much swag they're humping. A good way to win early fights is to use a reach weapon (spearlike is better than blade, blade can be tricky to time right) from horseback, with a fast 1hand and shield to switch to. Attack their archers from the side/rear, and you can solo 10 - 30 enemies pretty easily this way. Check taverns for friends to recruit, and get them horses ASAP as well, gives you a good early task force.

Of note is that, if there is a burnt village, they always give you a burnt village. Otherwise, upon becoming a Vassal, you just get the poorest one.
