  • After thought 💭, rental boat with first timer in the Helm. What about that Deep Impact ? Dope

    • The correct answer is: There are people loose in society, who either have money or have come into money, who use said money to go out and buy expensive toys. Unfortunately, money does not make you smart. If anything, it actually makes you dumber---witness ANY pro sports athelete, Bill Gates, and ANY Hollywood A-list actor. What we see here is an example of someone with too much money, NO intelligence whatsoever, committing public acts of gross stupidity. And the bonus prize is: My fellow Coasties will get to pay their rent this month because of it. Random musing of the day: Seriously....when you cash a million-dollar check for the first time, do they lobotomize you right there at the teller window? Or are you allowed to get home first?

    • 1st boat, absolutely no excuse! Endangered the lives of everyone on board, especially the kids in front. 3rd boat, enough boat to handle haulover no problem, again, stupid people at the helm. I've seen single engine whalers smash haulover no problem during low tide. Some people just don't have the brain capacity to operate any vessel, unfortunately it is going to get to the point where these dummies ruin it for the rest of us. Still entertaining to watch though.

One time I was twenty minutes late to the Lions' Gate bridge in Canada, (load, check batteries, etc.) and that 20 minutes made the difference between shooting flat water at tide change and SURFING down the backside of the waves coming into the Inlet. People on the shore thought we were nuts, but good thing I had a sailor with zero fear with me.. We ran a 17 foot Skagit flat bottom, so lots of weight for stability, but it shows just HOW FAST you can get into trouble even with the best of plans, and WITHOUT alcohol.

  • So I have two question; 1) when these boats take on gallons and gallons of water, doesn't that ruin the boats? A single bilge would take forever to remove that much water. 2) after they reach the ocean does the water calm down? Is the inlet just an isolated area of waves or is the rest of their day out there going to be like that?

    @chrisjuliano3964@chrisjuliano39643 жыл бұрын
    • 1) idk 2) depends on the day

  • As a non boat person I’m curious the trick to getting through this inlet. Like I’m sure boat design plays a big role too but it almost seems like those that blast through at higher speeds have an easier time

  • Holy cow! That beautiful woman gives new meaning to the term “hauling ass”. I need to move down there and open a business of some type to assist with all that effort. I’d hate for her, or anyone else like her, to pull a “hammy” or develop plantar fasciitis or shin splints hauling all that around. Working on a business plan, profit forecasts and strong mission statement TONIGHT! I feel morally obligated to help as someone who recognizes the potential of a nationwide crises. You’re welcome! What have YOU done for your country today?

  • It's all about the Trim and Throttle ! Many know how to use them, but not correctly !! I think just like a car. One must go through a drivers safety course. To be certified before being able to drive a boat. If not mistaken, you do for anything over 100ft.
