Wow I was so stoked to start my research after seeing your video! Thank you Dr Stapleton
Andy, great information for students and faculty alike! I like to emphasis the difference between 'writing about what is in the literature' as compared to 'reviewing the literature.'
When he said the Google scholar was OG 😢😩 Whilst I remember using card library catalogues 😅
Hey Andy. I have hit a big roadblock in my PhD journey. Coming up to my confirmation, this has helped massively to find momentum again! Thanks :)
I'm so pleased I could help!
@@DrAndyStapleton?? 😢😢
You Rock Dr Stapleton!! thanks a lot
Thank u. Saved. Relatable i m starting lit review for my masters.
You are one stop shop for aspiring academics like me who have spent decades in the professional world and seeking to make that switch to academics.
Thanks for your support! It means a lot to be seen like that...thank you!
Thank you very much for this amazing video, Andy! I'm a first-year PhD student and this video just came in at the right time. Now I know how to go about my LR much easily😊
Glad it was helpful!
The AI tools are really helpful Dr. Stapleton.
I need to do this but within 800 words. But this has definitely helped! Thanks
I need to explain every use of AI in my undergrad thesis. Although the school let's me find limited value from these tools, I will still continue to use them far after.
thank you!
Great video! I had no idea about the paper explainer.
Thanks for watching!
Wow. Brilliant find for me. Thanks very much.
You're welcome!
I'm currently on my Masters degree, our Thesis has been cut down from 15,000 words to 12,000 words, however, the last unit is dissertation, the assignment, which is a literature review, has a 3000 words count. I've always found this restictive as your footnotes are also included.
Excellent!
Sir kindly do a video on review of literature for thesis using ai theres a difference between literature review in papers and review of literature kindly do one video
Super useful, thanks
Hi Andy! I am a bachelor student in the engineering field and this is the time for me to write my bac thesis. I´ve never liked doing any literature research or writing in general, but your help and explanations really change my mind and make my workflow better, more understandable and the best thing, more pleasant! Just wanted to say a big big thank you!
this is very helpful -
I just need this for my Literature Review section.
I'm currently preparing one for a research proposal (masters), how many pages or words would be adequate for the literature review?
This is timely! Just about to start digging for my dissertation proposal, this stuff is solid gold! Quick question though - is it ethical to use Jenni or Yomu autowriter for academic writing since technically you didn't do the writing? Will they wreck your Turnitin scores?
I was wondering if you have some examples of well written literature reviews vs poorly done ones? I have buckets and buckets of references now I need to start reading though and Storting through so I'm going to read those but don't know if I should read everything before starting or go section by section EDIT : I also do have a full structure of what I want to do. just feel I don't know how to execute the plan its my first go
I love it, the way I am struggling to put my study literature together... This will solve my problems. Please, provide links, I can't see them, I am an amateur in computer literacy and AI use.
Thank you for this. Also scholarcy is another ai.
There is a video where you recommend mendley or zotero for reference manager but I couldnt find it can you send it please
I think it's worth mentioning that not everything on Google Scholar is peer reviewed, since at first glance it looks like it is but it isn't. This may be obvious to you and me, but to a lot of people it's not.
You are a creative designer, bringing those trump photos to show us relating to words. Bravo!
As a middle-aged grad student who feels so out of touch with tech options available, I greatly appreciate this video to help me reduce the amount of "reinventing the wheel" that I have been doing. This gives me more time to do the best part which is the actual learning and sharing of my knowledge! Thank you! I feel a huge weight off my shoulders.
You're very welcome!
My university disqualifies anyone uses AI for research. How do I go about this without getting disqualified?
@@oarabilejongani9736 I definitely think having AI do your research and writing isn't going to meet criteria for ethics but I would suggest only using the tools that don't cross that line. For instance, help drafting an outline can give you ideas to explore further or inspiration for how you might want to organize your ideas, but you still have to do the research and the writing yourself.
@@pattywood586 Thanks so much
Sir, you are a legend. You made writing literature review from boring to easy and exciting for me
The literature map seem fancy, however, in my experience, it easy to let me lost in endless literatures. Can you provide some example how to use it correctly?
Perplexity AI also is great for lit review.
I've got a video on perplexity for research coming in two weeks!
Hello. I am a teacher in Greece and I have completed 2 and a half master's degrees (I am working on my thesis I my 3rd master's). I am very bad at meeting deadlines so I am not good at working with others, including supervisors, even though my work usually ends up good. I wanted to make a literature review and try to get it published, so in the future, if I try to move on a phd, to have something to show for it. Do you believe that by using these tools and by reading a lot could someone get his literature review published, without a supervisor or a university? Is it this even possible? Thank you in advance!
hy I want to know about heading and sub heading in literature reveiw
Hello sir, thanks for putting out these great contents. I want to ask, is literature review you entire thesis, or just a section or subsection in the thesis? I am asking this because you showed your entire theses as your literature review. I will appreciate your further clarification.
It is usually your Chapter 2 in your thesis.
Could you please make a video on how to read/avail peer-reviewed articles or research articles, preferably open-access ones, as a phd scholar in social sciences, i am trying to navigate myself in the academic world.
Exceptional video!! Anyone would think your a Phd graduate!! 😂😂
😂
Without a doubt, AI tools are revolutionary in terms of literature review and research
Do I have to review the credibility of every / most sources in a single research article?
Where do you get your amazing shirts from?? 😁
I make them myself!
Hello!! How many articles we need to use for literature review?
There is no set or expected number. It depends on the topic and scale of the prior research.
Shouldn't you have mentioned Scopus and Web of Science along with Google Scholar?
I have a dead line looming and way behind in my lit review, it’s like a mental block and panic 😞
Go through the steps in this video and the one recommended and you'll get there! Start with a structure, find literature to talk about in each section - start formulating your own connections between them all . Little by little you'll get there!
Thanks for the reply, yes been going through all the little review vids and realise I have left it way to late while sorting it methods etc for my assessment. Love the vids they always help 🤓👍
He didn't give or show the link for ellicit, illicit, elict?? Can someone help? Don't even know how to spell it!
Elicit
I cannot believe you put my president as thick sooo uffended!!! lol
i mean it is a great help all these tools and I am sure I will use some of them, but gosh! we are certainly getting dumber than our parents/grandparents who studied without all this.
Ermmm parents more like. Even older siblings!!
It's streamlining the process because there's so much info out there

didn't you use to make beard content or am I thinking of someone else?
Yeah! I started a number of channels to see what would work - the beard one is one of them!
I don't know if this is the safe way to complete a literature review. The person is supposed to be analyzing the literature for deeper understanding.
