Joe Esposito - You're the Best Around.
From The Karate Kid soundtrack.
ANNOTATIONS to some of the London Tekken players/personalities, and hopefully inspiring a new D1 Daniel-san to take them on!
They may seem a bit strange if you're not familiar with the Tekken (it's a fighting game created by Namco) community in the UK or Europe. Feel free to disable them (see above)
Next ranking battle: www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/forums/...
Try to be best
cause you're only a man
and a man's gotta learn to take it.
Try to believe though the going gets rough
that you gotta hang tough to make it.
History repeats itself,
try and you succeed.
Never doubt that youre the one
and you can have your dream!
You're the best, around
nothings gonna ever keep you down,
x2
Fight till the end cause your life will depend
on the strength that you have inside you.
Oh, gotta be proud, standing out in the crowd
where the odds in the game defy you.
Try your best to win them all
and one day time will tell
when you're the one that's standing there
you've reached the final bell!
You're the best, around
nothings gonna ever keep you down,
x2
Fight till you drop,
you never stop,
can't give up until you reach the top.
(fight) Youre the best in town. (fight)
Listen to that sound.
A little bit of all you got could never bring you down.

  • I couldn't watch these reruns because The boy Daniel looked so much like my son Wes and it just made me cry. I lost him Aug.31, 1994. Now I love to watch, remember him. Of course he looked like Ralph Macchio when Wes was 12 yrs old. Those big black eyes! So proud of the great guy Ralph grew up to be. Watched him on Dancing with the Stars. One can tell he is such a good guy.

For years I thought I was the only 1 who thought Johnny's kick at 1.11 was far better than the Crane Kick. Obviously I was wrong. This really is a brilliant film with so many sub-plots and details. The reaction of Kreese as he realises Daniel is a threat. The little convo between Johnny and Kreese when they're watching Vidal. The truly psychotic nature of Dutch. Could go on forever. I'll never get tired of this film.

    • My name is Daniel, this movie always resonated with me. I was watching for the first time in many years a couple of nights ago. I saw this movie at the theater in 1984. There's a scene where Danielson is wearing an '89 San Diego Charger jersey, the scene before he goes to the Halloween dance, and Mr. Miyagi has a few pumpkins. My Son is born All Hallows Eve, my Great Pumpkin (The Great Pumpkin), Jason is born in 1989, the fall of communism. These are more than montages for me, they're my real life. The first time I was arrested was Halloween night 1976 because I took a BB gun out to get payback on the teenagers who would throw eggs at the children and shoot us with fire extinguishers. My dad left me in jail overnight and I had a chat without our Creator.

    • For whatever reason, it seems like montages are either more difficult to me now because of the set precedence, or directors these days are just not creative enough to make the right. You hardly find movies with awesome catchphrases like SWEEP THE LEG or GET EM IN A BODY BAG JOHNNY. Just not the same

Jonny never hit when Daniel was down ( He always shows mercy ) but daniel provoke him to be without mercy ( sry 4 my bad english )

    • MultiGhetto15 SMFH so Daniel shouldve stayed back and let Johnny be a jerk to the girl when she didn't wanna talk to him and then when he tried to help it makes him the bad guy? Honestly Johnny started their first fight by shoving him which was not necessary really.

    • Tricky _ Would love to see more Miyagi resurgence in the series along with Kreese redemption arc. Miyagi always knew Kreese was a lost soul, a war torn soul, and as a WW II vet he understood the inner conflict. When he faces off with Kreese it is never out of hate but pity even if Kreese is consumed by it. Which is why when he saves Johnny at the beginning of KK2 and has Kreese down instead of knocking him down with revenge in his heart, he has pity and just honks his nose like saying "No room for hate bro." One more lesson for Daniel-san.
