@I boop ur nose Lay, like Victoria, publically tweeted their support for China in it's dispute over the Nine Dash Line (and the phrase "China Must Not Get Any Smaller"). There is a lot of negative feelings towards China in Korea, which is why both Lay and Victoria have stayed away. (Of course, the fact that they make A LOT more money in China is another reason.) Remember also that the other three Chinese members of Exo - Luhan, Kris and Tao - left Exo and SM. Fei and Jia from Miss A felt that JYP only cared about Suzy and gave up on Miss A because it had 2 Chinese members. Amber (Fx) who is Taiwanese-American, has complained about the double standard Korean companies have towards non-Korean members. I hope Lay will one day rejoin Exo but considering Victoria hasn't promoted in Korea for four years (leading to F(x) abandonment by SM), I wouldn't hold my breath for a return anytime soon.

After 1 year answering if you still don't know. Lay is from EXO yes. He was part of Exo-M (of the Chinese members) when the group was full 12. Then Lay was removed from the group because of his country, if I'm not mistaken. But it's still part of EXO.

@@unidentifieduser Because South Korea built THAAD a few years ago China was angry and banned Hallyu (korean culture) in China. Lay is a prominent figure there and is the representative of his province so he can't promote with EXO. now that the ban has been lifted Lay will probably promote with them later.

Although Zhang Yixing is separated by thousands of miles from the rest of the EXO members, clearly Yixing is pursuing a different journey as he cultivates his M-Pop movement introducing traditional Chinese instruments and elements with modern contemporary music. His Chromosome Entertainment Group that he’s the CEO and original creator of definitely takes up an enormous amount of his time as he mentors and trains young wannabe Chinese idols. Added to that his pursuit of more dramatic film projects and preparing for his upcoming World Tour.

I miss all EXO members so last night, I slept late bcs I binge-watched every funny moments they had that I find here on YT but the fun they had doesn't stop me from tearing up. I came across this video, but refused to watch it as I don't want to cry myself to sleep and wake up with puffy eyes few hours later so I just saved the video and thought I'd watch it at daytime hoping I'd cry less than I could have at night but no. Watching this in a broad daylight still pains me. I'm ugly crying my heart out, bawling my eyes with the wheezes and all. It pains me that Lay couldn't be with the members whenever he wants to. It pains me that he can't be having fun with them in the same place, day and time. It pains me to think they aren't under the same skies bcs they are separated oceans away. And it pains me so much too that they all miss Lay and Lay misses them too but can't go see each other that instat. We're down the last 3 days of March 2022, and their 10th debut anniversary is fast approaching. I know that Lay's contract is expiring (from what I know, K members contracts are extended due to military enlistment but Lay doesn't have to enlist as he's Chinese) and it's still uncertain if he's going to renew or not and to be honest, I am afraid of the fact that he "might" one day depart from the group given his busy schedule in China. But whatever his decisions are, I am going to support him like how I'll do with other members bcs he deserves it too. Yixing stayed with the group in spite of members' departure and despite going through so much, he remained one with them by heart that's why he deserves to be acknowledged too. He deserves the love from EXOLs -Xingmis or not. (Thank you Lay for staying. 🥺) Also I hope he remains friends with the members and may their friendship lasts 🥺 I am praying he's part of their comeback and may he sees his members again. I don't know if he'll be there in the upcoming #1ΞX0 event but I rly hope he can come. Okay I'm out, gotta cry. 😭😭😭😭

Juanis Kawa bc of the tensions between Korea and China and also the fact the he is a youth ambassador (a sort of gov position) so tht makes it even more difficult to promote with exo.SM already risked it when they included lay in the tempo mv. The thing tht makes me happy though is the fact that lay visits Korea frequently to see his members and the fact that they still talk on the group chat. I do hope that one day he can fully promote with exo and he wouldn’t have to worry abt the Chinese gov

And because of Lay being the Youth Ambassador in a province in China and EXO being the K-Pop's Representative, "Nation's Pick", EXO can't do activities and promotions with Lay.
