Chihuahua's are the most hilarious dog full stop. It amazes me how such huge, loud sounds can come out of such little creatures! And the howling ... never gets old, love it!

Chihuahua's are simply the ideal pet - They are all Front and think they are 6ft tall but they are not only funny but very smart - I would say the ideal pet as long as they are the long nose breed.
Curious about the long nose over the apple head type. Have you been studying them? I don't have either, but think about it for down the road.
@@nealierose8794 Only reason is to avoid potential breathing problems that some have but also a lot don't have any problems whatsoever. Just do what I did and let the Dog pick you if you ever decide to get one but I never thought I would tell anyone to get a chihuahua 10 years ago yet alone have one.

@nealierose8794 Long nosed are “deer heads” cause their skulls resemble little fawns, and they’re less likely to have breathing/nasal problem because their nasal passage isn’t as crammed, eye pressure problems bc apple’s domed heads tend to be more prone to causing it cause for same reason as the nose (not that they can’t), and just most other problems apples commonly have in general, and while deers live 15-20 years on average, apples live = 12-15 on average. Deer are larger on average = 6-10 lbs and apple 6-9lbs. And the longer the snout, apple head or not, the better. But dome head and the pressure problems associated with that are kinda unavoidable if you’re going for apple, it’ll be prone to it compared to is deer counterpart. The dome head shape puts pressure on the eyes and can cause what’s called a “cherry eye” but just rubbing some Vaseline on/around it will make it go away in a few hours! MRegular vet visits, exercise, diet love and attention can make any live longer than their average tho! Hope this helps! I’m actually on my way to pick up my new puppy as I read this lol…. Unfortunately after my deer head of 17 passed away a few week ago in an accident. I wish you the best with whatever little baby you choose in the future! I love them for their sass, smarts and you’ll have a friend by your side for a very long time no matter which you choose!💕 And “teacups” just refers to size, it’s not actually a different breed (not are deer vs apple which just refer to head shape and about- some of which can fall in between). But I would avoid teacups as they tend to have the most health problems and shortest lifespans out of the 3 bc their bones are smaller and more fragile. Apple or deer, you want a chihuahua whose weight is 6-9 lbs. bc anything under 6 is a teacup. Breeders are obsessed with 6 and under bc the show dog associations are, but those are the ones that tend to have the worst life spans/health so shoot for 6+ if you want one who will be a friend by your side for a very long time! Teacups are also more likely to fall to injury because their bones are so petite/fragile compared to apple and deer in falls the other would be safer (not immune) to. Each being bigger than the last = teacup -> apple -> deer Always ask when adopting if their molera or “soft spot” has closed up! About half of chihuahua’s molera do but this hole in their head can leave them very vulnerable to head injury and even death if it doesn’t. Moleras occur to allow for the puppies to squeeze out their mother’s already small birth canal, which is why most chihuahua puppies are born C-section. Oh and watch out for the MERLE gene in chihuahuas, it can hide! I just found out about it myself! Look into it! It’s a gene that’s not suppose to exist/not naturally in chihuahuas but it has serious health consequences. Any chihuahua that has a parent with a “Merle” coat or blue eyes (ghost/cryptic Merle) has genes that cause an increased risk depending on which allele pairing (ex: MM, M/m, etc) of severe health problems, depending on how far down the line it falls in their lineage- the gene is a defective dominate gene rampant in the chihuahua population so it’s hard to avoid. I’d just do my research and be careful of it to know what to look out for! But if it’s far enough down the lineage it should be fine! Your chi should never cost more than $300-$1500! Even a Chihuahua with no Merle coat or blue eyes can be a hidden Merle but again the gene should be far enough it’s not a concern. Just another thing I thought I’d warn you about that can affect how long your little friend stays by your side! I think that covers just about everything there is to know about chihuahuas? lol. Sorry for the long read, just wanted you to know let everything you needed to make your best decision for a buddy who’ll stay by your side for a long time! Best of luck!
We adopted our rescue chihuahua when he was 7, I wish I had known him as a tiny pupper!! Not only would he have been adorable but he would not have been abused as we suspect happened. 😢

I got lucky ours had corgi daddy... legs strong and will leap fly 8 ft. Neck strong too but looks just like a chihuahua. My sisters have long hair chihuahuas and it freaks them out to see mine leap fly.

while admittedly these videos are funny, chihuahua's have inherent leg and hip problems, so the one jumping off the fence or off a bed, or trying to jump into the pool, trust me, in a few years the vet will tell you what mine told me: $1,500 each hind hip to have replaced...
I’ve had a chi for 6 years and I’ve never heard they have hip issues, sure they jump off the furniture and bust their legs often but it’s typically the larger Breda that have back end issues,,,als if you spay or neuter young before joints are fully grown they can have issues with joints too…

I have one and she is so sweet, loves everybody but kids. I don't know why she doesn't like children, we are a older couple and all my grandkids are grown so I'm guessing she isn't around children much. She is just a mess.

a lot of this isn't funny- especially 2:21, the dog is walking like that because its hind legs most likely have a luxating patella, and it's too painful for the dog to use them.
Oh how I missmy dogs but at my age I'm afraid of where they might wind upso I watch all shows on the Chihuahuas just toget my daily laugh. Thee dogs are to smat fr teir own good. My Mom had a sewing basket that Tippy and Boomer wanted toget into so Mom moved the basket to the bedroom. She placed on a shelf and left taking the dogs with her. When she went back to watch tv the two dogs were making like mt.climbers. she decided to put the basket in a cabinet.
