    • @Patrick Bateman Wrong, because he was developing his coaching, getting better each year. Eventually, he would have dominated Mich. and Ohio St. because once he won 10 or 11 games, he would have started getting the recruits, then he wins 12 games, a coach like that never goes backwards, Jim Harbaugh can't change, hes stuck with the Pro-set and Defense, that will not win in college now. Saban is adaptable, you want to run HUNH fast pace BS, well, we will do it also, and we have better athletes than you. What you miss is Mich. St. got better with Saban, then after he left, they kept a pretty good football team for the next 20 or so years, not great every year, but he changed the culture, it just takes longer at a Mich. St. than it does at an LSU or a Bama. When you win, the athletes will come.

  • Coach Saban knows where and when to play a player. Derrick Henry - Had a 2000 yard season in HS and I think 8000+ overall in HS. Coach Saban recruited Henry at RB. Tom Lugenbill at ESPN downgraded him because he said Derrick Henry would be moved to linebacker. A Heisman and a 2000 yard season later, Derrick Henry leaves as an RB. NOW? Derrick Henry just ran for 2000 in the NFL. So, he is the only RB ever to run for 2000 yards in a season in HS, College, and the NFL, No one else has ever done that.

If this didnt happen, who else out there would there be to rehabilitate some coaches while giving other great coaches a chance to win a national title and coach top quality players that they otherwise would not haven't had the chance to be around and develop.

You can tell that they are going to put the same teams in there as often as they can. So the rhetorical question is, is the ncaa in football that lopsided or are they just avoiding having teams that won't have the same level of dedicated fans that travel to bowl games? That year they purposely left out UCF was especially telling.

    @gregorylagrange@gregorylagrange3 жыл бұрын
    • They are in there because they are the best teams, guy. This ain't hard. You just don't like it. God, I'm tired of socialist football. #5-8 had a great season. Doesn't mean they earned access to natl championship shot. And we don't need another post - season layer in which to incur more crippling injuries (Trey Sermon, D. Smith, Justin fields, etc...just in two games.)

      @teller1290@teller12903 жыл бұрын
    • @@teller1290 Now how'd you get the conclusion that it's something I don't like when I just stated that it's a lame way of deciding who should be in a national championship? It's hardly any better than what they had before they only selected 4 teams. Keep selecting the same small amount of teams without any consideration to other regions or areas just to have a blow out. It needs a better playoff or just admit that college football is that lopsided.

      @gregorylagrange@gregorylagrange3 жыл бұрын
    • @@gregorylagrange of course it's lopsided. Excellence does that. You wanna have lopsided "fixed." Then have USC, Oregon, Miami, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M decide like the top programs did...generations ago...to build great programs. Don't solve lopsided by creating a circus at the end of the year, mimicking March Madness (which, btw, also makes a mockery of that sport's reg season...but we're all so used to it that we don't notice anymore), and hoping to create a pathway for a team that didn't earn they it's season to run around with two or three losses claiming to be #1. I guess for some that's improvement, but for me I'd dred it. Which means that's exactly what'll happen...and soon. Herby will cry some more and that'll be it...8 teams, then 16 teams (lots of 9-3, couple 8-4 all "vying for #1." What a joke.

    • @@teller1290 So pick the same teams over and over and get the same results? You trying to make the claim that I find it better to have a more involved playoff sounds like your own argument applies to you. That you don't like the idea that maybe there are teams that should be playing for a title but you're afraid of losing a position. It would be easy to have conference champions play in a playoff or have 8 teams play. The joke is making a claim that it's a national championship when they've made it clear that some areas are not going to be considered at all. It's no different than when they put up such huge resistance to get away from the bowl games. That's what was really meaningless. To just create another bowl game whenever they want. But yet div II manages to have a playoffs.

  • I honestly think the NCAA is going to do away with recruiting and have some sort of hybrid draft. At least for the top Maybe 40 teams or something like that. Because it's getting to the point where it's too much. Players are afraid to play them you can see it the way they tackle them. You can see it the way Alabama ball-carriers bust through there like a grenade just hit or something. It's to the point where it's a bit much. I'm happy for Alabama and the fans and everything minus all the Nazis that live down there but regardless it's too much man it's too much. At some point every one of their players will be five star. And nobody seems like they really want to stop them. The guy will literally try to rack up 15 rings or something like that. They need to be stopped.

    • I've lived in Alabama for 25 of my 35 on earth. And I live in deep south alabama where peanuts are king and cows out number people... I've never met a nazi.. I've met a few dumb, illiterate racist hicks, but never a nazi.... And don't worry, those dumb ones all live in the same trailer park and smoke meth, they pose no challenge, and are overdosing their way out.
