Mario Kart Wii FlounderFest Season 4, Episode 5! (S4E5)
ALL EPISODES ► • FlounderFest | TWD98
In this episode, we played using modded max-stat vehicles. I used an inside drift kart while Nick used outside drift karts and we put them to the test against each other.
Every Monday, Nick and I race until one of us wins 7 FlounderFest events. There will always be a punishment for the player who doesn't get to 7 decided at the beginning of every season! Each week is a completely new set of rules!

  • There was 1 BAM! Shock Dodge at 15:02. Shock Dodge wetstreak: 1 ... ... Loving the vehicle showdown content! I think this was the first GP tie in the history of FlounderFest, so it was interesting to see the solution for how to proceed from there. 4-1 now... Nick's come back from these before.

  • I just had a cool idea for a custom track: it would be a really long track with lots of items and offroad cuts, and it would be designed around getting the shroom glitch so on the last track everyone would be taking the shroom cuts

    • Essentially, if you grab enough item boxes in a row while in first place, the game will only give you mushrooms for future item boxes. I think it has something to do with the game not knowing what place you're in, so it defaults to giving you a single mushroom. Anytime the game doesn't know what item to give you, that's what it does.

  • Haven't watched it yet, but this will most likely come down to track picks. Tracks like the Bowser's Castles favor outside drift, while tracks like Waluigi Stadium favor inside drift.

  • I think we might have learned something here, the outside drift helps with snaking but since the orange miniturbos last so long it basically doesn't matter: you just get one on the turn before the straightways and it will most likely last for the entire lenght of it anyways

  • Idea: Suzuka circuit (CTGPR - pencil cup, Formula Kart Wii mod, 400cc mod, items off, no bumping allowed, everyone in the F1 medium weight vehicle (whatever its called), minimum of 2 pitstops in 1 race. So basically, a real F1 race in MKWII. P.S. if you would ever do this, I would be more than happy to join!

  • Believe it or not, if it had true Plat. Runner speed, 91, instead of Jetsetter speed, 86, ur able to beat 25 no-glitch/shortcut WRs, instead of just 3: all but Rainbow, Summit, Waluigi, Bowser’s C., Dry Dry, Gorge, and Factory. (Most tracks are difficult to get laps on pace.) Don’t underestimate karts, even w/ super tight drift and inside drift making it hard to get super m.-t.’s. (and impossible to snake). I was able to test this using Maxed Kart Wii by Joeblase, which accurately recreates Atlas’ Plat. Runner mod. I highly recommend it; my 1 complaint is the karts are a pain to use b/c the camera acts like they’re still outside drift, causing u to not be able to see where you’re actually going when u drift hard (lol). I really hope Troy will use this or another mod to try this very fun and perfect challenge - for real this time.
