  • Before you comment, check this out: ⬇ 1. The Sony A7SIII DOES have a touch screen. It was a simple scripting mistake that wasn't caught before posting. Still would keep the same rank though. 2. The R5C was backordered, so we weren't able to get our hands on one for the comparison. We plan on using that for the next shootout. 3. The Sony does have a native ISO of 12,800 and would blow the others out of the water, but we wanted to see how it compared on their level of 10,000 ISO. (It Still Won) 4. The GH6 does have a "tripod mode" which does perform better when walking. But we just tested everything with their standard IBIS 5. For all of you Nikon and Fuji fans, we have content coming out for those as well. So don't worry. :)

  • I think it’s worth mentioning that the BMPCC Pro comes with Davinci Resolve software. Which is crazy. And it has the best denoiser on the market. This is a proper cinema camera that is used on Film sets across the world. When you start shooting with a real cinema camera vs a hybrid you can’t go back. You get used to having everything for video right on the camera vs having to map the buttons for film.

    • BM6KP is by all means a stellar cinema camera for anything film. and a buddy of mine uses it with the riser plate and raveneye on the rs2 no problem. But, nothing beats the Sony as a workhorse in the videography realm. the capability to shoot a whole event, wedding, or anything really with the a7siii on gimbal and have sharp autofocus is like a comfortable armchair compared to lugging around one’s beloved cinema camera in that situation. mainly because of the weight, and the need for some type of follow focus. but when you go outside on a sunny day those internal ND’s are certainly nice.

  • The 12-35 mm lens for Micro Four Thirds is the exact replacement of a 24-70 lens on Full Frame. The 2X crop factor of MFT is easy to convert. Just divide or multiply by 2 to convert from full frame to MFT. 12mm on MFT = 24mm on Full Frame. 35 on MFT = 70 on Full Frame. This should not have been an issue, or even confusing to people that know and understand crop factor. To purchase a 35-100 for this comparison makes no sense. It is a full frame equivalent of 70-200mm. Come on guys....

    • Yes, exact replacement for the focal lenghth and for luminosity (at f/2.8 both lenses), BUT the bokeh is not the same, because of the sensor. Don't expect have the same depth of field (the depth of field of Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 is f/4 equivalent on full frame).

      @bogdanpopescu8406@bogdanpopescu8406 Жыл бұрын
    • @@bogdanpopescu8406 Correct the depth of field would be different on a lens designed for a smaller sensor despite the aperture values being the same. I think for the purposes of this video it would have been fine. Also, the 6K pro is a cinema grade camera. That is the reason why ibis and continuous autofocus are not present. • This was really just clickbait right? 30+ minutes wasted to pretty much plug their course? The testing seemed so out of whack that it had to be a piss take. Using different glass on each. Not knowing or using native ISO. Not understanding how properly set up autofocus or stabilization options to yield optimum results. Not understanding how rig the BM on a gimbal. Shooting in standard picture profiles to compare color science. On what planet does Sony or any other camera here have 15 stops of DR? And how was this verified? No understanding of crop factors? You "needed" 2 lenses for the GH6 to cover the focal range when the 1st lens clearly does just that? They even showed the equivalent focal range on the B&H screenshot contradicting was they were saying! Best self own was at 4:06 "If you buy one of these cameras and don't know how to use it, it's essentially worthless". Pretty much summed up the presenters abilities to properly test, compare, use and understand basic camera differences. If this was a joke, then haha. You got me.

  • This is a great comparison, so thank you! I think the one of the most attractive of the bunch is the GH6: I mean think about it, Pani-boy is like $1000 less than the Sony, which would allow one to purchase the Sigma f1.4 trio with that extra cheddar. Also, how about the anamorphic desqueeze modes in Pani-boy (I am sure Blackmagic does too). I don't have any Panasonic cameras, but I have been researching the GH6, so I am not trying to take sides; I am just pointing out that a micro four thirds loser sensor is not doing so bad keeping up with the Big Boys. I have an Olympus and a Sony (I have had Full Frame and have APS-C Sony), and I can tell you if you want the best lenses for less money (and less size), Micro Four Thirds is the way to go...do love that Sony dynamic range though, it is legit.

  • Nice video. Just a few points - 1. Comparing the video off different cameras with different brands of lenses isn’t a fair test. Lenses affect the image most, more so than an adaptor. 2. BMPCC 6K Pro CAN BE used with a gimbal like RS2 / RSC2. It is left heavy so you simply add a Smallrig counterweight at the right side. In fact DJI Gimbal systems acknowledge BMPCC and its Raveneye is compatible as well. 3. Leica SL2-S should be somewhere in that lineup. It’s colour science is said to mimic RED while stabilisation is smooth. 4. It’s worth emphasising that unlike the other three, the BMPCC is a cinema camera from ground up: it does not have a DELETE button alongside stabilisation or continuous focus on purpose (RED or Arri do not have them also). It comes down whether convenience Vs test of skill matters for the consumer. We really can’t rank hybrid cameras (photo/video) on top in these categories although price points wise BMPCC is in the bracket.

    • I'm pro Canon as well, but this comparison is confusing. They said that the overheating was only a problem when shooting in 8K. Which no one will use anyway. They seemed to hold Canon to a different standard because of the 8K feature. They should have just ignored the 8K marketing gimmick and stuck with how it performs at 4K 24 fps. Then again, Canon is the most expensive and should deliver on the 8K promise. Canon needs to drop the price of this Camera if it can't perform to the specs as promised. With that said, I'm still in the dark as to its 4K 24 fps performance over a long shooting day. Does it still overheat or not? They said that it didn't, but then at the end implied that it might.

  • I'm going to put it out there that I shoot weddings and the Blackmagic 6K Pro is SO much fun to shoot with at weddings! Manual focus is second nature to me so it's pretty easy to do on the large screen, but having ND filters built in has made shooting so much more fun. I do also have a Sony a7IV for gimbal work/autofocus when I need it (venue shots, real estate, speakers that like to pace around a lot), but the majority of my footage is captured on the 6K Pro. I would hardly say it's useless at weddings.

  • The one category not here and rarely thought about in reviews is the cost of changing systems. If I have $20,000 of lenses, doesn't matter which system, then the only affordable option is the camera with the mount that fits your lenses. When selling lenses you are doing well to get 60% of new cost when selling, so that 40% (or whatever percentage in individual sales) is an added cost when needing to buy replacement lenses from the other system. Added to that is the lower cost of buying a MFT lens collection compared to the larger format brands. This means that the cost of switching to MFT is dramatically less than going the other way. I discovered this when I switched from Canon to Panasonic two years ago. While easy to find lenses that are similar in price, at the wide end and especially the tele end, MFT lenses are way cheaper. I point this out because the cost of a camera is just a small part of the cost of buying into a camera system. As a result the lower price of the GH6 is just the beginning, the cost of several lenses is also lower, making it by far the most affordable of these three cameras, and considering how good the Panasonic colors are, and how the MFT sensor is comparable to full frame sensors in dynamic range, the GH6 remains a strong contender for an indie filmmaker on a budget. In many ways this is like the film days, when 35mm was the expensive option, but lots of indie filmmakers chose the 16mm Bolex because it was the affordable choice despite some compromises. Even today, the Bolex has a cult following because they like the Bolex look, and dream of being like a young Kubrick shooting on his Bolex. MFT is the 16mm of the digital age. But for those with Canon EF or EF-S lenses they need to choose Blackmagic or the Canon. Someone with E-mount lenses needs to choose the Sony, and those with MFT lenses needs to choose the GH6, or its even more affordable cousin, the GH5 M2. Changing systems, unless you only have a couple of lenses, is just too darn expensive.

I am still learning and am glad I got the 4K as the user interface is amazing. Especially with the latest update. One less thing to have to struggle with while learning everything else. I wish Sony would take a lesson on UI design from Blackmagic. The price point was also 1/3 of the Sony. I still have an Sony A6600 which I love, primarily for photography but it also balances perfectly on my Weebil S Gimbal and gets pretty good video in 4K 24/30 HLG. • (29:53) Totally agree, which is why IMHO from the selection of cameras in this video, the Blackmagic 6K Pro or the Lumix GH6 or even the GH5II would my tools of choice based on their video feature sets for filmmaking. As a hybrid camera in the sense of run and gun or event filming, the GH6/GH5II have served my situation amazingly well. (26:11) Stabilization: This was completely out of left field from personal experience. But then too, that is from the GH5II, and though I have a set of cinema glass like Zeiss CP.2’s, third party glass such as Sigma Contemporary, and Voigtlander Noktons, the main native glass we use are M.Zuiko Pro’s. Recently acquired the set of Leica 1.7 zooms, and so far have never experienced anything close to what is being conveyed in this video… Also: wanted to mention a bit about the low light test. The majority of people on KZhead tend to get this wrong. When compared to full fame, a crop factor needs to be considered appropriately. If you have an 26,600 ISO set on a FF, the sensor size is four times larger essentially letting four time more light on the sensor. Which means on the µ4/3 sensor the equivalent would be ISO 6400, relative to the f-stop which is basically the only metric that would be consistent… Lets be honest regardless of camera, who really films above 6400 realistically ever… …

    @superzero4250@superzero4250 Жыл бұрын
    • The surface area of a full frame camera sensor is 4 times larger, but the amount of light focused on and MFT sensor is not greater unless you are using a speed booster with a full frame lens. A full frame 24mm 2.8 and a MFT 12mm 2.8 with the same lens coatings, etc will give you the same amount of light on their respective sensors. Throw a .71x speed booster on the same full frame 2.8 lens, and then the aperture changes to 2 and you end up with more light. The ratings of the lens are based on the surface area it was designed to project onto. This is why MFT lenses can achieve the same results in a smaller package.

      @ElMundoDuro@ElMundoDuro Жыл бұрын
    • @@ElMundoDuro I agree with almost everything you said. However, an ISO of 6400 on a FF sensor is not the same on a 4/3, its equivalent is 1600. It’s basic math. ISO 6400 is spread out over the entire sensor. µ4/3 is a fourth of that size sensor, therefore one fourth is 1600 ISO. The only thing that is not cropped is the f-stop, unless you factor in bokeh, which is not even something that has ever been quantifiably measured, it is subjective… So when people say a µ4/3 f-stop of 1.2 is 2.4 in FF they are referring to the perception of Bokeh, not the actual light coming through the lens… The reason a speedbooster works on µ4/3 is because the FF lens is in fact larger, hence 24mm not 12mm, using your example. That is why a Lumix G 12-35/2.8 lens is significantly smaller than an EF mount 24-70mm/2.8 L. That same 24-70mm/2.8 with an adapter (not focal reduced) on µ4/3 would be 48-140mm/2.8. Everything is relative… It’s simple really, if you have a FF camera and a µ4/3, snap pictures side by side. 24-70mm/2.8 and a 12-35/2.8. Snap pictures both at 800 ISO, then snap both at 200 ISO and compare. What you will find is the the FF snapped @ 800 looks the same as the µ4/3 @ 200. If you were to snap the FF @3200, it would look like the µ4/3 @ 800. Pixel peep to your hearts content, then lets discuss… …
