Collect ALL 1,000+ Pokémon in ONE Binder (GEN 4 Pokemon Card Challenge)
I must beat Steve the clock and collect every Pokémon in Gen. 4 in 107 minutes, or I will give away all the Gen. 4 cards I collect and start again from scratch. I’ve lost these challenges before; and I don't want to be even further behind on my ultimate goal!

Thanks for the shoutout ( 6:03 )! Another strat that helps me is to prioritize 1st stagers. That way you can quickly find the next one down the line. I can also send you my spreadsheet if you need the help for future Gens. Also what helped is to group mons together that you know are related.
Hey Pat I suggest taking the pieces of paper out once you’re done adding the cards in those slots. Just to save on weight overall. As it’ll all add up. lol 😅

My man im loving this series!! and I think I can help you to sort your cards a lot easier for the next generations to come so that you can find the pokemons easier, fill the binder and you may dont even need spreadsheets and flashcards anymore. Hear me out.... 1) You see the pokedex screen record you showed at 2:09 ? well....screen shot that and then just print the screenshot. 2) Cut the screenshot page in squares by pokemon, and then put it in the binder instead of the flashcards. 3) You can also print them twice and that way go around discarding the ones you get just like you did on 20:42 but without taking out the ones in the binder. Mybe even send soem people for them. Now you dont have to write the names and pokedex number on flashcards because you can just print them with the name, number and image, so even you have a visual reference of who is who, as well as all your fans and helpers, as they may recognize them better by picture.
Definitely would love to see you upgrade each Pokemon with their best respective Pokémon card once you complete the entire Pokédex. Would be so cool to see! Keep up the great content, always look forward to your videos.
You can hire some friends to help, like 1 to put the cards in the binder, 1 to find the cards, 1 to keep the check on pokemon It will make everything easier, and there can be more than 1 people to find the cards!!
pat if you didnt already notice the card numbers are in the middle of the card next to the weight/height but this doesnt work on full art cards

Awesome video!!! When you finish the gen 9 challenge (even if you lose overall) you should totally do a slow pan over every card in the binder, because it would just be so insanely cool to see which specific cards were in the final binder!
When I was a kid I tried completing the whole Pokédex (at that time it was the sun and moon era) well time passed and I ended up giving away 98% of my cards. But watching your series, has rejuvenated myself to try again and complete the whole Pokédex! Thanks for the content and inspiration!

Same here, I wish you luck. If I have to suggest, definitely invest in trading with people. I've been trying for 10 years with my brother and we're still missing 89 Pokemon (granted 11 of them aren't in cards yet). Otherwise, good luck and have fun with it.
I haven't played/collected Pokemon cards since the 90's as a kid, and this channel has led me down such a rabbit hole with the modern TCG! The vibe of the community you've created is amazing Pat, and I was crying at the end of Gen 3 with the army of helpers. I'm invested again! You were so close! YOU'RE GONNA DO IT!! I believe!

These challenges give me so much anxiety watching but they are so much fun to watch. You made me want to complete my pokedex binders, yes binders since I dont have a Chad of my own, always wanted to but hadn't gotten around to it until these videos started, now im just waiting on Twilight Masquerade for the newest cards.
Love the series! Im personally 8 cards away from my complete national dex not counting those without cards yet.(Nihilego and 7 unown forms) They’re all basic formatted “window” cards and some sure were tough to track down! Good luck with the challenge! Even though the torterra theme deck wasnt the best option to use, it meant a lot to me as that theme deck was my first pokémon card product I ever got.😃
As someone who started on this challenge at the same time as you, I was really excited to see how Gen 4 went, as all those baby pokemon were suchhhhh a pain with such limited versions in the entire TCG which is insane when you think about it. Thanks as always Pat
Would like to see a trade up challenge against someone where you both start of with an ETB you can only use those cards to get the most expensive card possible.

Thanks Pat for the wonderful idea of a pokedex binder as collection goal. I got into the TCG only recently and didn't really have a collection goal until I saw this series for the first time. Now I am well on the way to complete my own 'carddex', though I'm a bit more ambitious than you (with no time limits though). I also want a card for every regional form. So far, finding older (pre-sworld/shield) bulk cards is the most challenging. Most don't have those readily available for me to search through I'll find them in the end though.

Also you got the amazing gold card from crown zenith wich I need so badly because I’m trying to complete crown zenith. Plus the zamazenta is great wich I also need! I love your channel pay keep up the great work❤. You had such good luck with the ETBs CONGRATS! It’s just a shame you didn’t complete gen 4. Good luck for next time though👍
*Tip:* You can color the flash cards the color of the Pokémon types.
Gen 3 and 4 are my favourite but wait till you get to Gen 5 Pat!!! It’s going to be a huge hurdle!! 😭 Also I’m learning a lot from your Gigabinder series! Your storytelling is so awesome!! 💯💯
I'd personally would recommend one additional thing for your next attempt, I'd make/print 2 of each of the name/number place holders for you. This way you can have one in binder, one to quickly have in a need pile. As you fill them out you can either toss the 2nd one or maybe put a smaller version of them on a flash card key ring and tear off the ones you get so the key ring serves as an up to date slim and easy version of what you have remaining to obtain.
That's such a short time limit but I was really rooting for you to complete! But yeah you should upgrade the cards to ARs, full arts and SARs. That would look crazy good

I think the best way to do it. Is go in order via your list. Start off at both and ask if they have it. If not move on. Get what you can in a few minutes at each both. Or start off with splitting the list in sections at each booth. Once you get what cards you can move on. Fill in as needed
dw man you got this. you definitely gonna get it next time. i only played a few pokemon games on my gba when i was a kid. havent touched anything pokemon related since then. but after coming across your channel, i decided to collect pokemon cards for the first time in my life. i started 2 days ago, with the sav 151 set. im trying to do a master set and have so far only opened one etb. i hope to complete the set soon and move on to a different set. loved your video on the 151 challenge as well and felt really good to see how kind and caring the pokemon tcg community is. 🙂
Can’t lie, I like this series for filling out the binder with one of every card. Rushing to finish before a store/event closes is one thing - but I don’t think the timer was necessary. I don’t know I just want to see the binder filled out

I was wondering, where do you get those little card thingys to put in your binder as placeholders, i'm also trying to complete the pokedex and it would be way easier to have them. one thing i do to remember what gen the pokèmon are from is to memorize the pokèdex number of the first and last pokemon of that gen and it allows me to know what gen each pokèmon is by knowing weather the pokèmon is inside or out side that range

Pat I suggest making double pieces of paper with all the pokemon names and the Dex number. So you can throw the ones you have away and still having them in the binder, so you won't get confused.

you can try flash cards whit the image of the pokemon. en have the dubble one for in the binder and one for in your hand. maybe alfabetical in your hand
On every pokemon game I've played I try to complete the entire pokedex, but I never got it, and since I started to see your videos I got motivated to start again with that challenge, but now with cards. Obviously, without time limit LOL

I was literally telling myself this morning I hope another one of these videos drop, I wanted to watch it this morning.
Mantyke was such a good pull at the end man, up until Paradox Rift there was only a SINGLE card of it, from Diamond and Pearl base set!
I wonder if there are any team up cards you could use to save space for the new gen. Both would have to be from the same gen, and the dex order wouldn't be right but whatever.
Love the series. It inspired my daughter and I to do our own Pokédex binder. We had over 800 cards in our bulk!
So suggestion for next time: Two (2) number-name cards in the binder so you can pull out the number-name card and check what you have and still have a nn card in the binder. Or just use the alpabetic list to use ;)
Im from the Philippines and i really admire you and your videos,, i always wanted to try to collect pokemon cards but i cannot afford to buy and start collecting a pokemon card,, school expenses comes first,,, and im really happy to watch your videos it's like fulfilling my dream of collecting my own pokemon card,, pls continue doing videos likes it really makes me happy 😊
You know it's really a team effort tryna find all the cards needed, I was thinking you should do a team off, two teams vs each other trying to complete a certain set or gen, that would be so fun, timer ofcourse & maybe some way to decide what team you get placed on, think about it please this would be so fun

Great job. Me and my brother got to 109 left to get. We haven't even gotten 1 gen finished nor 1009-1025. We are two away from finishing gen 1. Vaporeon and mew. The hardest to find are final evolutions of starter Pokemon. And legendary.
Gen 4 is actually one of the hardest challenges to do. Baby Pokémon, third evolutions, and rare fossil Pokémon all make this generation probably the hardest one to complete
I'm glad everyone came together to help inform, especially on my home gen, so I'll give eveoyne a fun fact. If you attempt to do this challenge, in english cards, there are 11 pokemon that don't exist in card form as of today's date. Those pokemon are: Dipplin, Poltchageist, Sinistcha, Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti, Ogerpon, Hydrapple, Archaludon, Terapagos, and Pecharunt. When Twilight Masqurade releases on the 23rd, only the last 4 will be unavailabe in english. Good Luck to eveyone on their quests.
Just as a kind of post edit for those who are curious about the Japanese sets: In Crimson Haze, the cards Dipplin, Poltchageist, and Sinistcha are available. In Masks of Change, every card except for Hydrapple, Archaludon, Terapagos and Pecharunt is available. For the new set that, unfortunately, releases on June 7th, Pecharunt is the only one we know about. Happy hunting.
Thoughts on making two sets of flashcards where your can stack them in the giga-binder so when you do take them out you'll still have 1 set in the binder

My partner and I are loving watching each episode of this collection challenge. We haven't been collecting Pokemon cards, just enjoy the show/games, but i would love to get her some Growlithe/Arcanine Cards.. any suggestions on sets with nice looking Growlithe/Arcanine cards?

Pat you should make 2 sets of the name cards 1 for the binder and 1 for reference that way u won't have to figer out where thay go
I think deep pocket shouldve put 2 sets of flash cards in the binder, so he could remove one from the binder when he needs it
You should make 2 cards for each Pokemon in the binder that says their name and number. That way if you need to pull the cards at the end you will still have the second card to show where to slot
Can I suggest a suggestion Pat hehe. I think would be more adventure if you open a booth with ur binder challenge there and check on the end of the event whether success or not.
With the list use a sharpie to help black out the ones you got so you don’t have to take the number placards out of the binder.
