100% agreed. These new building sets are missing sooo much compared to the DLCs and double the price
I mean they've nailed some of the other sets, Aesir and Stormglass specifically, so I gotta wonder what went wrong here. At this stage for the game, I don't mind the higher price tag, but the quality has gotta match
@Eradicati0nn I just hate how many pieces are missing from the set compared to the mentioned sets you mentioned. Would be an amazing castle set if it had the crenelated walls and wedges. The pyramid set missing those so many pieces hurts my soul as well.
It's just been a let down lately. Aesir even. Couldve been better, shouldve been 1 set. Quality has just gone out the window. I know they gift you these sets but do they watch the videos? You make great points. Why aren't they listening.
Their thinking is if they put it all in at once they wont be able to charge you for each individual piece in the bazaar in the future
@SicariiDTenebris the pyramid set was the biggest letdown for me. Missing soo many pieces. They had to use hald turanian build pieces to make a base build with it
Already commented below your previous post about it, but what i would like to see improved with it is: - add normal stairs - make door open in both directions like all other doors - give the rounded corners stability similar as walls (currently can stack 4 or 5, then run out of stability…) - and agree to the gaps, they should get rid of them, but thats maybe just a bug coz nemedian has it now as well… - would like to get a prison ceiling too Recommendation? Currently not, maybe for the prison walls/door frame, otherwise it feels incomplete and we probably end up with paying 30€ for the full set if they add more to it…
Hopefully, Funcom’s feelings have a thick enough skin to hear the criticism and use it.
My primary base is located in The Crevice and this is the expansion pack I have waited years for. Would I like more pieces such as a stand staircase or more wall variations? Sure. But this set is outstanding and it allowed me to really add some life to my catacombs set up.
I'm also not a fan of the crypt description. It was initially offered as a standalone item, and the description said something along the lines of it being there to store what cannot be taken into the afterlife. Based on that, I assumed that it was a storage item themed to match the dungeon. While it did not explicitly say that it was storage, it was implied, so it almost felt deceptive when I discovered that it was simply a decorative item.
I didn't personally interpret it like that, but I can see how some people might. I'd like all storage items in the Bazaar to have a line of text that says "Stores X Item Stacks" just for clarity, and so you can know if an item that looks like storage is actually just decorative

they should make it work as a wheel of pain like the other new khitan torture thingy
Agreed, I would have liked to have had that as a thrall converter, it would make a bit more sense in an RP way
This bundle would have been great to add a new staircase that opens the terrain allowing you to build in under the ground. To prevent abuse of completely making a complete underground base have that stairs would have a boundary range set on the clans/players. This boundary would be the underground build zone if any build pieces touch the boundary it cannot be placed. The staircase with the boundaries cannot be placed inside the staircase boundary or the staircase boundaries can't be touching. This would make it very hard to expand the base underground. The boundary would also be restricted on not being able to get too close to anything that's already underground Caves, Dungeons, Boss Arenas.
I was really hoping that new pieces would make this set worthwhile, but it doesn't look like it helped much. I agree that this set won't see much use from me. Thanks for the review.
I'm a builder in Conan Exiles, sometimes solo, sometimes with friends on our private server. I play for the aesthetic of a barbaric fantasy first and foremost. I've bought almost every building set, and that includes this one. I will not contend that this set is really meh, but for me, who really just wants to build castles and buildings, I still bought it. Call me mad if you like, (you're absolutely right, Yog be praised!) but it's still close enough to the dungeon fantasy for me. Sometimes, plain bread needs something added to make a meal. I don't mind having a plain bread set next to all the meals in the roster.
Love having a spiral staircase. I like the vaulted ceiling pieces and the quarter pillars. Not a fan of the price point though for what is an inarguably incomplete, complimentary building set.
I am looking forward to the nemedian archer bundle.
It could be fun to build a giant labyrinth in the Crevice with it for roleplay purposes, but it's a bit pricey, and the arena set or the black ice set do the job anyway.
Well in that case...Im always jaelous when I see that everything is claimed for you in the bazaar :') Maybe an idea for private servers: complete your dungeon with sandstone pieces and with Emberlight, color sandstone to "weald" color theme and voala :D
So far there hasn't been much about Age of War that I like.
What I dislike about it, is that the walls and doorframe are looking like a foundation, meaning that your build will be massive, if you want a big dungeon. Other than that, it looks alright. PS. : The rating of the price is still 20 dollars/euros, because you cannot get less than 10 dollar/euro amount of Crom Coins. I got it only to fill in missing pieces, but I dont think its worth the price
Hmm aye I badly wish wedges and more ceiling parts like in arena for this set. I nerver build only with squares. :(
Thanks for the material. I didn't have the luxury of checking out this set before purchasing it. The first thing you notice after buying it is that you have to work hard to find a use for this set. it would be best to integrate it into a slope or a small valley, otherwise we have to accept the fact that while this set looks good from the inside, it looks like shit from the outside. There is nothing left to do but mask the dungeons with other building elements, but this also often looks unsightly, artificially increasing the size and height of the camouflaging building. I had high hopes for the dungeons and bought them with great enthusiasm, but now I can honestly say that for such a high price, this purchase was a poor decision.
Yes i can totaly agree i am more careful in the future with spending my money in conan exiles
Have you tried using the quarter pillars to hide those wall gaps?
I haven't, though I suspect it would work as a bit of an easier alternative than exterior foundation walls
I found that they hid gaps beautifully during my experimenting with the set today. I did find that there was a little bit of fiddlyness with needing to place certain items in a certain order to make things work. I also found it extremely problematic when it came to structural integrity when using the set. I was wanting to use the quartered style of pillar with the arched ceiling pieces, however those apparently offer nothing to integrity, so I was forced to throw up some of the traditional support pillars, and will need to rework my design to support a ceiling. Hoping that this is a bug, and is not working as intended.
i quite like the new set , i do agree that its a bit inflexable but i almost only use the set to make old roads with the foundations and underground parts of my builds where i build the dungeon parts first then build a literal mountain ontop of this. my main base at the crossroads of the imperial and slave roads i have upped the normal hill by 6 foundations hight and increased its slopes using the pyramide and turian sloped ceilings (the grey ones).
What I'm wondering is if they will release a third bundle to sell us the remaining dungeon decorations that are missing with this set. In the dev stream i remember they showed as part of the lost dungeon set an individual cage for your thrall and a torture device which seem to be missing here.
I think that's part of a different bundle that's also coming this chapter. It's already in the admin panel marked as "torturer's cage" I think
I really...REALLY want that spiral staircase. And the curved walls pair great with it. But at nearly $10, that's 1/4 of the total price I paid for the whole game, and 60% of it's current on-sale price on Steam and more than the entire Battle Pass! You've got to be joking me with these bizarre bazaar prices! I'd happily pay $4-$6 for an incomplete build set. I'd happily pay $10 for a full set! But $10 for this is insane, and while I CAN afford to pay it, I REFUSE to, on principle. Come on Funcom! I want to support you. I WANT to give you my money, because I love this game and I want you to continue supporting it. But please don't force me to feel like an idiot in order to do so. I hope Funcom sees my feedback and takes it to heart. I do love this game and play it ALL THE FREAKING TIME...but there has to be a balance in the bazaar vs Steam and it's just not there.
Funcom lost me when they offered a rock bench consisting of two half spheres and a flat slab for 250 CC in the bazaar. This set should've been a free update for the original dungeon set really. Especially at the pricepoint of the old DLC's.
Hi Eradication, I don't mind the set. The prices yeah they have to figure out. But i would still buy. I just wish they would do complete sets like in the DLC's of the past. Also all building sets need to have the same pieces, I really need a update to the arena pieces.
I feel like the main reason the dungeon set doesn't work is that there is basically no good way to incorporate it into a build. At least with the way Conan works. I think the set could work well if Conan was a voxel type game and we could dig into the terrain, because let's face it dungeons like this are meant to be underground and out of sight. That said there is really only one place on the Exiled Lands map that could work well with this set, in the Oasis north of Sepermeru the northwestern most lake is perfect for using this set as a sewer/dungeon that can be placed below the rest of your base if you made a small city or large castle on top of it. This was something I'd considered doing for a long time even before the first dungeon set but I'd always hesitated due to concern that it would be such a large project that it could cause a lot of frame rate issues.
There's a place called Crevice in D11 of the EL, a big hole under the mountain. You could build it there.
It needs a part three added for free.
I agree with you on this is one. Most sets can stand alone. For example nemedian. You can build an entire castle out of nemedian and you do not need to add parts for another set. Dungeon on the other hand cannot stand alone. IMO you have to mix it with other sets to make dungeon functional.
Agreed, even though I think the interior can be quite pleasant, the exterior is dreadful without masking or some very heavy stylizing

I like everyone else here 100% agree. The price is way to high and the pieces are to "weird" at the moment. It CAN work with certin other pieces, but like you said just use arena (or reinforced stone since it even has an iron bar door as part of it) instead.
Also the decoration piece "prisioner chains" (I think that is what it is called) doesn't even work properly. Most NPCs just don't even animate after the first time they are put in them which kind of defeats the purpose.
With the right technique even in vanilla i can get pillars between those wall segments to cover the gap. But then it becomes a requirement and not a choice when it comes to the style of build.
I'm confused about what happened to the other decorative items they showcased in their dev stream. I thought they were to be put into the same bundle, making it possibly seem slightly better than it's current standing.
As in the cage and the rack table? They're in a different bundle I believe, I think they probably showed them together for aesthetics, as they do fit well together

@@gerardscorzelli I got the impression that the torturer items were bundled together, though I could be wrong. I think they'll almost definitely be sold separately in the future
Whatch them try to sell a part 3 for this set. I completely agree with you. The exteriors of these pieces should be versatile but i find this set extremely lacking.
I personally don't think we'll get a part 3, I'm kinda hoping they just move onto better things and take the dungeon set as a learning experience. Then again, I said the same about a second part of the dungeon set so I could be wrong, hopefully not though 😩

I haven't planned to review the tavern set yet, though I still might. I've said to a few people basically what everyone else has said though: Way too expensive for what's included

I honestly like the set, I agree its a bit niche- but the aesthetic is one I find frequently works either as a part of a build or as a thing on it's own. In fairness though, my best builds use a variety of different materials incorporated together in a realistic way to whatever style I'm trying to achieve.
I agree. I used to spend $10 for a DLC that had an entire building set with lots of options and variety of pieces, placeables, weapons and armor. Now they want more than that for a less than half assed set of building pieces? Absolutely not. And after this last update, I won't be giving funcom any money at all until things are fixed, but certainly not for such a poor quality and expensive "building set" like the dungeon one. Money talks. I really wish more people would stop giving their money to companies/devs that don't deliver or expect outrageous prices for what they're offering. Even the battle pass is honestly quite boring and doesn't really give many rewards that actually feel worth it, at least not to me. But with the battle pass, at least you get a lot more and a variety.
you can unlock the whole bazaar freely too in singleplayer if you know where to look. I'd buy some after but i like to test it all out first for free. Mostly i just hate waiting for stuff to rotate back in. its why i give my money to other games cash shops over this game's, and use the unlocking method.

yes the dungeon set was a waste of crom coins. Very little set pieces to allow for flexible builds. I wish they would come out with: 1. Two sided wall options. Let me have stone on one side and wood on the other! 2. add circular floor/foundation tiles like in the new wood set (add them to all the sets) 3. a triangle that is half of a square.
i wish i had found thos video sooner bc i've got it and was disappointed idk if i will even build in this set bc its so mäh to build with....
Good review. Personally, I find it has too few pieces, too janky in use, and is somewhat uninspired, especially compared to Aesir. The two panel high door frame, it looks like the "door" should raise and lower. That would have been nifty. Instead... The way certain pieces do not transfer stability is just atrocious. There are maybe three or four pieces that actually inspire me and even they aren't user friendly. Maybe with the next expansion to the set it will be better.
The price points on some of these sets just seems way too high considering the entire base game is around $30
I bought the sarcophagus set the night before thinking that it would be absent from the set. Not sure if I overpaid for the set by 200 coins or paid the same amount. I wish we had a purchase history.
Purchase history would be a great to have. I'm not sure why they were selling the sarco separately the day before, though I'm not necessarily against selling individual items from bundles, though not before the original bundle releases 😂 You would definitely have been discounted on the sarcophagus, hopefully for the price you paid
Sarcophagus was 500cc by itself. Probably how they justified the price point of the bundle
Yeah, its a cool looking set and i want to build with it but it still feels incomplete. Like there is pieces missing and together with the jankyness and high price i cant really recomend it.
spiral staircase is cool but only goes 1 direction. stormglass has the same kind of stairs but there's a right and a left. if you want a symmetrical build these stairs become unusable
They’re a little bit different than the stormglass stairs. They also have walls that sit flush with the staircase so you’re not constantly falling off it
Trying to 'maximise' on stuff in the bazaar is compromising the new content I think. Because of the way that the bazaar is laid out, doesn't folllow any pattern, etc., and SET content varies so much per iteration, it is all too easy to just get frustrated and ignore. And their new pricing! Wow! Anyone (me) that has zealotly tracked (almost) all the bazaar items, sets and their rotations and prices (based on a bundle of 3,416 Crom Coins for £17.50 ast year), shows pricing is comparitively off the charts compared to the old DLCs. It's almost rude or insulting. DLCs had around 70 items per DLC. At £8.99 that means a basic cost of £0.13 per item. This was priced all those years back, but even inflation will be hard pushed to justify the new individual pricing. - Gurnakhi Dire Wolf for 670 CCoins which equates to approx £4.74 (depending on what coins package you buy). - Aquilonian Hanging Lamp for 500 CCoins which equates to approx £3.54 - Stygian Commander SET (4 items) for 463 CCoinswhich equates to £3.27, or £0.82 per item
I hate to say but, I think the DLC price point comparison is kinda dead in the water at this point. The DLC's were insanely good value, but also weren't able to fuel the development cycle they wanted. That being said, though everyone would have therefore expected a more expensive experience on the Bazaar, it is currently too expensive, especially for some of the bundles like Forlorn Crypt or Yamatai Tavern. I doubt we'll ever see DLC-level value again, but I also don't think that means the current Bazaar prices are acceptable. I'd personally slash almost all of them in half. I'd like to think they'd sell more if they price lower, but that's just my own pricing ideology, we don't know what the actual financials are like in the Bazaar's current state
I'll stick with mods... OH, that's right.. they want to be rid of mods so they can sell us this junk! Thanks for a great vid, love your builds and watch them to learn. Keep up the good work :D

This game is getting so much love from the developers recently, and it's great to see. I thought maybe they had learnt by now that if they're going to introduce new sets, they should just make them with most, if not all the standard pieces, then add the flair of new items. It can't be that difficult. I'm sure that money isn't an issue given how much they are charging for them. As someone else said, this is more than the cost of a DLC, which included everything an entire culture's worth of goodies. I really hate having the bend these sets to our will, as you say. That shouldn't happen. I'm looking to build full-on dungeon/ slavery character around this set. Wish me luck.
Most of the building sets have been alright aside from the Turanian Extension, so I'm not really sure what went wrong here. Perhaps they just wanted to experiment with something new, but hopefully it's not an experiment they're intending to continue or do again, at least not without a serious overhaul. I'd be quite happy with $8 - $10 for a building set at this stage in the game's lifecycle, but the quality of a product has to meet the premium price tag
@Eradicati0nn So after spending some hours with this set, I have to say, "Why are there no triangles?" I know they have round pieces, but they ruin the idea of circular bases. I ended up having to integrate other pieces to fill that huge gap. With the addition of round pieces, you can't make or integrate into round bases. It could be great. I will say though, I do love the circular stair. It sucks that it clips through the walls, but it's a great concept. I haven't figured out how to use the curved walls in any meaningful way though. Very frustrating.
I base all of these dlc's off the original $10 packs and if they are not of equal value I pass.......so I own none of the crom coin stuff. Each one was an entire build set, multiple deco's, three suits of armor and a weapon skin for every type of weapon for $10, hard to be willing to spend more than that for far less content.
Im sure they ad the rest of the set later if you are willing to pay extra money. It is sadly some of an monitarisation strategy to make the biggest amount of money out of you. There is no other reason to do it like this. And then you paid about 20$/€ for this set. I think its sad if you think about the old dlc expansion that you could buy for about 10€/$ and got so so much more.

To paraphrase you "It feels like it's missing something..." . That seems to be all we will ever get now. Everything they make is "Missing something... as in *Not finished... Nobody should sell crap that is not finished. I can't get it now anyway... they made an artificial scarcity of their unfinished crap lol. WHat contrived BS! If they just waited and put out a well rounded set of working DLC a couple times a year , available any time, everybody would be happy and it would be fair - now they rip everybody off. This is BS.
We've definitely had a few things that were pretty much complete, Stormglass Cathedral, the Aesir Extension and Sandstone Super (minus the missing pieces due to a bug) jump to mind, but there is definitely more inconsistency than there should be for the price tag. They most definitely won't do traditional or occasional DLC again, the finances wouldn't support the game, but if they're asking a premium price then we should receive a premium product. There's a lot of improvement needed across the board when it comes to the Bazaar
A survival game with a battle pass is like a kid with downs owning a gun. Makes no fucking sense. Sad that we pay for cosmetic over content now. Well not me, I’m not that dumb, I just recruit a sucker into my clan so I can enjoy this rip off for free! You would think people who actually bought the original copy would get some crom coins for being loyal players or some type of compensation from all the BS you put us through. DLCs were fine and all they needed to work on was balancing/bugs in the game. They add a tavern and you can’t even enjoy it because of all the bugs. Let down after let down, I keep coming back to slight improvements with heavy setbacks and day one bugs. How?
This is a totally marketing video. Funcom is milking Conan exiles by chopping a set of build to 3 pieces to sell them 9$ each.
Their prices are extortion. Absolutely absurd. Even with a discount. The battle pass is nothing short of manipulative and pathetic. As well as designed to fuck people over who spend money. Glad that I am able to see it and not let them rip me off. They expect you to pay half the price of an entire game for some small additions. They can get fucked.

Most likely an internal monetization team, I doubt any of the forward-facing staff that we see like Dennis or the community managers have much input in the pricing. It's usually the same for most monetized games
