  • Whether you like Guy Ritchie films or not, he understands casting for chemistry. His characters are always bad ass and funny at the same time. Cavill and Ritchson banter shows they've become friends from being comfortable on set. Hope to see more films with them together.

So Fleming had a hand in this endeavour during WW2 i cn see now how 007 was created after the war. The fact that Cavill recently secured the 007 slot as well makes it all the more ironic.

  • I saw a movie trailer let’s say a few week ago. I feel, and felt: Disappointed, Angry, hopeless in a way. The trailer was for a war movie, the movie is supposed to be based off of a true story. Which, lets be honest, it isn’t. Now before I continue I do wanna tell a little about myself so you know who is reviewing such a God-Forsaken film: I am a teen at the making of this. I was born in a small village in Bavaria. I have seen: Fury, all quiet on the western front, as well as Dunkirk. This is my first time writing something like this and I am only saying what I have seen. Not by thoughts or guesses (partly), sorry for any bad explanation or bad wording in this review. It’s dumb, and let me explain. Think it like this: I say it is dumb as I saw many flaws The major flaw I will Adress is when I saw one of the so-called “protagonists” holding a dead German sailor’s body, and with a smile, he held the body and waved at a German destroyer or whatever the ship was. The second, would have to be in the next scene I had just described. A man apart of the protagonists had swam underwater, to the destroyer, without being caught, snuck onto a ship, without being caught by sailors and planted a explosives in a shell cabinet, snuck off and swam underwater back to the initial ship. Now lets head over to something else: I want to touch on something not only in this film but also in multiple films like for example: 1917, the ministry of ungentlemanly warfare, and other war films as well as video games. I am referring to the Germans. Unless you are watching something like “All quiet on the western front”. All the Germans will be: Dumb, evil, a Nazi, a bad shot with a gun, unable to to do anything in Hand-To-Hand combat and whatever else. These damn Germans are like the NPCs on any “call of duty” game. And what is inaccurate is that their were many soldiers in the “Wehrmacht” a nazi. But were either not a Nazi or a Jew. That’s right, a Jew, their were in-fact Jews in the Wehrmacht. And also, any atrocity or bad decision that the allies made seem to swept under a carpet and never brought up as it would ruin the Facade that the Allies were the good guys and all Wehrmacht soldiers were heartless Nazis. I know this is probably the most controversial topic I will bring up, but fuck you. I want to talk about the damn woman in this film, one is a sultry singer I do believe and one is… I have no clue. But she is good at shooting NPCs. I bring this up as we see woman being, glorified? Being shown to take a man down just as easily as a man could. We see this shit in the woman king. We will see sex probably in this film as of the Sultry singer, I understand how this is something real. But who really wants to see that shit in a action, WW2 movie? Circling back: I want to Adress the action. The action is fun but unrealistic. It’s fluid, without mistake and this only in Hand-to-Hand combat. And the Germans don’t seem to be skilled in any kind of combat even though they managed to take over most of Western Europe as well as having a valid martial arts system in multiple forms: general hand-to-hand combat, bayonet fighting, knife and shovel techniques as well. This is the problem with most historical films: They add fiction to the most important parts to add more entertaining and made up parts for comedy, like in this film, or action. They disregard the facts to keep a facade. They don’t acknowledge the parts that should be implemented and only keep the parts they like. That’s why they don’t mention something like: Operation Greenout. For context, this operation was conducted by the S.O.E to bring troops into Switzerland without the consent of the Swiss government’s permission. This lead to diplomatic tension between the U.K and the Swiss government. Now I want note that I know nobody probably gives a shit about what say as: nobody knows me, or cares about my words But I still want to say that you can’t have a realistic film where it tries to be John Wick and any comedic-action film. Especially when it is based on a “True” story. The film tries to be something quirky: it makes it annoying and feels stereotypical, and looses the realism that it is supposed to show. If you can’t make a realistic film, then what is the point of making a film based off of a true story? You fucking retard. Know for the conclusion: It’s unrealistic, It wants to show a true story and shows it in the most retard type way by trying to be a James Bond-John Wick type film. It never tries and be serious and instead makes more comedic elements and kills the pacing. They stereotype the Germans by making them with a unrealistic accent, the movie claims the idea that all Germans in WW2 (including the Jews) are all Nazis and that makes the film not even more unrealistic but also generally annoying. The protagonists are better in every way: Combat, morally. As the film portrays the Germans as Nazis and shows the protagonists as Fascist-Fighting good guys. And this was my take on the film “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” I hope you think of my words, and may god protect you. Goodbye -Brayden C.H Starting date: APR-20-24 Finishing date: APR-22-22 8:39PM
