2024 ж. 16 Мам.
83 452 Рет қаралды

In this video me and my mom GM Pia Cramling played tried to analyse the EXACT same position to show people the difference between how a GM and a 2000 thinks in chess. These positions were really difficult, but let me know in the comments if you could solve them faster than us! Hope you enjoy the video :)

  • That rook moving back on the second scenario is such as engine move -- no human would look at that as a natural move. Without looking more than a couple moves ahead it just look like you're hanging your rook vs the knight and queen. Crazy stuff.

  • That second puzzle was a little mean. I turned the browser analysis depth up to Unlimited and white's advantage only got as high as 1.45 when it got to 45. So maybe every other next move is a definite white loss, but to say Rg3 is a white win is a stretch, imo. Maybe the puzzle should say "White to survive for at least three moves" or something like that instead. Maybe I'm salty because I couldn't figure it out either. :)

  • The second puzzle is unfair to GM Pia Cramling because _Aagaard is wrong: White does not have a win._ (The game is Vladimir Malakhov vs. Alexandr Hilario Takeda dos Santos Fier, from the 2009 event LIII Campeonato de España por, and the position shown at 14:21 occurred right after Black's 40th move.) Aagaard proposed the move 41.Rg3 for White and claimed that after Black's best defense, 41...Rxh2 42.Nxe4 Rxh7 43.Qxf6+ Rf7 44.Qh6+ Ke7 45.Qh4+ Kd7 46.Nf6+ Rxf6 47.Rg7+ Re7 48.Qxf6 Rxg7 49.Qxg7+ Ke6 50.Kf2, "White has serious winning chances." Aagaard was mistaken; as we now know, the resulting position is a tablebase draw (Black draws with 50...b5 or 50...Qa8 or 50...Kd5). Pia Cramling's proposed variation, 41.Rf7+ Kg8 42.Rxh5, is also a draw; however, after 42...Kxf7, it is necessary for White to play 43.Qf5 to hold the draw! (A possible continuation is 43...Qa8 44.Rh7+ Kf8 45.Nxe4 Qa1+ 46.Kf2 Rxe4 47.Qc8+ Ne8 48.Qf5+ Nf6 49.Qc8+ with perpetual check.) After 42...Kxf7, the move 43.Nxe4 actually loses for White. The problem is that in the position at 18:33, Black doesn't play 45...Ke8, which loses; instead, he plays 45...Kf8, and now 46.Qc8+ can be met with 46...Re8, and Black has a winning material advantage. Since there is no win for White in the second puzzle, White might as well simply take the immediate draw by repetition at 14:21.

    @Alekhinegun@Alekhinegun Жыл бұрын
  • Apparently in position 2, White does NOT win, it's a draw. Rg3 is right, but the engine suggests Qxg3 -immediately- instead... Rg3, Qxg3, hxg3, Rxh7, Nxe4, Rxe4, Qxf6+, Rf7, Qxb6. Somehow despite the fact White has a queen and 3 pawns vs black's 2 rooks, White doesn't actually win if black has perfect precision with the rooks. I don't trust browser analysis in these positions, so I use stockfish running on a chess GUI to analyze really difficult positions. Now granted, in any game between two humans, white most likely wins to a blunder but if no mistakes were made, black can save the game in position 2!
