    • I don't think you even know what your doing that cows hoof should have been trimmed a lot more all that loose horn should have been removed and she should have been treated with salicylic acid directly on that hoof and you didn't do any of that !!! Need a little more lessons from a good hoof trimmer !!!

  • Nate the hoof guy, hoof gp and Midwestern are the Mount Rushmore of hoof trimming in my opinion. I have never and likely will never trim a hoof or even work on a farm....but I love these videos and watch them all the time

  • I had a pretty large abscess after a c-section and let me tell you, he is 100% right about the relief in pain you feel when they are opened up. I went from doubled over, barely able to walk, to completely normal in seconds. I felt for that cow 😂

    • I had similar after my appendix was removed. The nurses couldn't find the stitches because I was so swollen but they still sent me home from hospital. The following day the wound actually burst open (I was in the tub), I held a jug to catch the pus. Ended up putting gauze packing in each day and pulling it out soaked. Nasty!

I was always scared he was going to go too deep since I want' in control of it. P.S. I am fully American, but I have some Welsh blood. I hope to visit some day! God bless!

  • The relief you get when abscess is opened and drained is phenomenal. I know. I had an abscess on my butt cheek from a (presumed) spider bite while sitting on the Sani-can. Thing grew. Thought it would burst on its own. Nope. Eventually went to the hospital and they used anesthetics then lanced it. Oh the relief!!! Stupid story, but just wanted to reiterate to anyone reading the comments that you are so right about the relief given when the abscess is drained. As always thanks for the great videos!!! (And no, my other cheek didn’t need a block!)

  • It’s interesting to see the differences between Graeme, Nate and now this specific channel. Different climates, different living situations when it comes to marsh, grass, indoor, outdoor and now sand- the techniques are different. I grew up on a cattle farm in Canada and I absolutely love watching these. I’m new to your channel, but I’m here to stay!

  • I live in a big city, the only times I see cattle is heading north on Interstate 5. It is good to see what ranchers and farmers have to do to take care of the animals and crops. I appreciate the hard work and skill they have. Americas need to appreciate those who work with dignity, and sincerely try to do the best they can. It doesn't matter if it is a city trash collector, or executive in a big office. Appreciate what each contributes to the greater good of America, OUR country and the world.

    • Are u kidding? Cows are horribly abused. Newborn male calves are trashed ....mommas are immediately separated from the babies ...u cannot gave milk without momma having a baby. Cows with infected udders are still milked....many times cows are standing in crap filled mud ....learn how we treat our food animals before you go on......off to slaughter on transport w no food or water or protection against cold or rain or wind at 60 mph....I stopped eating them years ago as I did pigs and lambs

I absolutely adore how sweet he is to his bovine patients. Taking the time to hug & reassure them is beyond sweet. You can tell it’s more than just a job to him, a super guy.

I trim my horses’ feet, but it’s a bit more straightforward, well, not always, especially with abscesses and laminitis, I have a vet check them regularly too, to make sure I’m doing ok!

I’m not a farmer, and although a Midwest girl, I know little about cows…but somehow the FB algorithm brought me this channel with a couple others. I find this fascinating…I didn’t even know this was something cows needed. I appreciate the kindness they show to these animals in helping them feel better.

Cows give us all so incredibly much and even though I'm not a farmer or for that matter I've been to a farm just once in my lifetime but I respect greatly what farmers do for all of us and cows are so vital. So happy that you do and all the Farriers to make everyday life as pleasant as possible for such a giving animal.

I'm a city girl and I didn't know there are machines to help hold the cow in place (thank God because I wouldn't want to get kicked or try to hold on to the leg while trying to file down the hoof). 😟 I sighed with relief when the abcess oozed! 😄 Great work! What a beautiful cow too! Get well soon girl we LOVE milk, cheese, and yogurt and none would be possible without dairy cows.😋
