Hey sorry, but can you explain how i can make 1 Person play a sc1 Version of a race and another Person play a sc2 Version in the same game? Whenever i initiate the Mod as it says in the description all players automatically play sc1 races
@@drizzelschissel208 The description in this video is wrong. You choose SC: Evo Complete Legacy, and you only play the game as SC1 Races. The race you picked would automatically be converted to an SC1 equivalent. But choose SC: Evo Complete, and you have the option to choose between BW and SC2. Please enjoy.

I hoped I will hear some ghosts too, they had the coolest sounds
omparing them to sc2 siege tanks the sound makes no sense. like why do they make a ''phhiiiiuuuuuu'' sound? its like when movies make arrows shot by a bow make sound like the pphiiiiuuuuuu through the air. like have you ever heard a real arrow? arrows dont make those sounds at all.

Ah, hearing the Marine Gauss Rifles have their SC1 sound effect brings tears to my eyes, along with the Arclite Siege Tank sound effect.

The original Starcraft unit sounds are so much better. I think about how awesome and terrifying the Ultralisk sounded in SC1 and how they replaced its roars in SC2 with... scissors snipping.

It is really cool, yes. But being realistic, it's better to take the tanks directly. Workers get killed immediately, and DA even faster, since the lose their shields. Now if Ghosts had the Nova ability "Domination" it'll be a full clown fiesta on the battlefield
@@Poputrash Hmm, I do remember shuttle drop DA and stealing workers. But to be even more realistic, it's better to first spell the marines so they can't move/attack

So as I see it, SC2 factions have more mobility and more unites, meaning they have a tactical advantage, but SC1 unites are just really bulky and deadly in comparison.
Feels about right for the identity of both games!
Game 1 I agree, but game 2 looked like the Protoss units are bulky, but way weaker (that coursair vs the Raven lol). Arbiters however, seem to be a cheaper and better than a sc2 mothership.
@@steffensimon2949 Stasis was and again is just insane, if you could hit 1-3 decent stasis, you more often than not won the game. Locking down like 10+ supply per cast for 50 seconds is terrifying. Also I think a lot of the deceptive power of sc1 armies comes from their "supply" efficiency more than sometimes better base stats. Tanks/Hydralisk/Ultra/Ghost are all 1 (ultra 2) supply cheaper which makes them really supply efficient. Prolly never gonna see sc1 ghosts vs zerg though ;)
@@steffensimon2949 BW Zealots are stronger than SC2 Zealots, BW Dragoons are stronger than stalkers, BW High Templar is stronger than SC2 High templar. For the rest of the units I'm not sure but those units are just objectively better (except for pathfinding) imho Corsairs shoot very quickly but deal very little damage, they do this damage in an aoe. They are really good against Mutalisks but that's about it. There's a similar Terran unit called the Valkyrie that shoots 20 or so very low damage projectiles at once. Valkyries are decent against Wraiths but they are also almost always just used against Mutalisks.
Kudos to the guys balancing this thing out. Sounds like a nightmare.

A few corrections. Evo Complete is a really broad mod that anyone can use for their own purposes, the SC1 vs SC2 mod is only one form of Evo Complete from us. Probes do not trigger spider mines, and neither do reapers, archons, disruptors, sentries, other workers, or high templar. The resource amounts and gather rates vary by map.
Who are you and what drives you? You are adding weight to my argument this game is experiencing a renaissance, a golden era. Tell us the story of this mod, please.

Creator refusing to build a Starport in game 1 man, killing meeeeee Also I really like how the Skytoss units felt beefier outside of shields. They have more of their HP in the hull itself which makes more sense. Something to learn from maybe when balancing for Ghost EMPs in PvT for SC2 maybe?
Only because the other races' anti-air fliers suck (they're stationary compared to the Phoenix being able to do moving shots, Mutas haven't been good for so long that BW Mutas look at them in contempt)

@@pamsp An air switch wouldn't work very well as ForGG could switch his factories to goliath production on a dime.
@@TomFranklinX my memory might be a bit murky, but I think goliath suck really hard. Like, they pack a punch, but die super quickly.

It's neat seeing the SC2 players misjudging the SC1 armies at first before turning it around. the longer games have better drama and mobility too
Man watching a reaver drop in SC2 graphics was insane to see the amount of damage those can cause. I can't wait to see the show match now, and I hope you can end up giving us a cast of it.
careful, dont say that too loud or the balance council will nerf the reaver in SC1 so only terran can have good drops
@@tabula_rosaFunny thing is, there's already multiple builds to counter Reaver drops. Namely the 5-Factory timing push where you mass up your mech and head for their natural before the drops come in, the faster 3-Factory timing where you're Vulture-heavy but hit before the reaver is made, or build a Wraith

@@reishiki8682 to my untrained eye it seems like the SC1 units are benefiting pretty hard from the greatly improved SC2 engine. I wonder if it is at all possible to impose the brood war/SC1 remaster restrictions on the SC1 races in this mod? in general it also seems like the SC1 units hit harder
I've watched some of these SC1 vs SC2 games played by some of the Korean pros and it really seems like Marine+Medic is an absolute menace against a lot of the SC2 races... their raw DPS output is just as crazy powerful as it was in SC1, it's so much easier to micro a giant infantry deathball in the SC2 engine and they can keep up with the generally higher mobility that that SC2 races tend to have compared to the originals. Not only that, the SC2 races don't really have the same level of AOE infantry murdering abilities like SC1 Psi-storm, Spider Mines and Dark Swarm. I'm not saying this in any way makes SC1 Terran overpowered (it definitely doesn't feel like that at all) but it would be really interesting to see if this sort of unit dynamic pushes SC1 infantry to be a much more commonly used unit base alongside support like Wraiths or Battlecruisers than it ever was in the original.
I mean, SC BW Terran is definitely OP against any of the SC2 races in this mod. But in the context of just the SC BW races, you're right that Terran is relatively balanced (the balance is BW is generally better than SC2 imo).
No combat shield though :P
I mean, I believe that sc1 marine medic looks effective, but .. "there's a lack of AOE in SC2" is, uh, quite a take. You should check in with Team Baneling/collosus on that one. They definitely added more splash units in the sequel!
ForGG, that's a nostalgic name. Never heard of this mod before, really cool that they're doing an official show match of it.
Interesting concept. Think there is still some balancing needed. Feels like they tried to balance the units by specs, but one of the reasons why SC1 units are so strong is because the pathing sucks. You don’t see units tripping on themselves like you do in brood war.
This, 💯 vultures are terrifying with better AI, especially the speed with which they plant mines now.
I can already hear Protoss and Zergs crying “vultures imba, spider mines imba… PLS NERF!” 😂

Not like P had any unit that needed it. No Templars for PsiStorm and most importantly, no Arbiters.
Dark Archons were definitely the play in Game 2, stealing away those valuable battlecruisers while the arbiters stasis the thors would have been devastating
you should cover the hardcore mod some time, it has a community that does mostly vs AI but i also see them do pvp sometimes, if you ask them in their discord im sure they can throw together an interesting match for you. its the closest to the opening cinematics ive ever seen SC be edit: also the mod does stuff with sound that i didnt think was possible in SC2. hearing your teammate pounding the enemy base into dust from across the map while you're looking at your own base bc the modmaker somehow implemented distant gunfire is next level
Sc1Zerg vs Sc2 Zerg would be fun to see, maybe we’d get to see the OG cracklings and banelings face off

I played a few matches last night, it's pretty good. Try a few 2v2 AI games or archon mode to get used to it. There are some new units added to the BW races too... Sc1 Terran has a "stinger" vehicle that can shoot while moving, for example...

This is a really interesting idea and neat to see on your channel! I would be interested in seeing both Brood War Zerg against any race and some cross game mirror matchups - Brood War Terran vs SC2 Terran would be dope.
The only advantage SC2 Terran would have is faster drops due to the Medivac boost... but BW Terran has Goliaths which outrange Cyclones when attacking air
It seems to me like sc1 units are actually faster on average than sc2 units, but they just seem slow in brood war since half the time they run in circles instead of where they are supposed to go
Vultures are overturned I think, they're very strong in the sc2 campaign and co-op

I can see a best of 5 series between 2 people alternating between old vs old, new vs old, old vs new, new vs new, and then the players can each choose (independently ahead of time) whether they want the old or the new race for game 5 if it goes down to it.

I wish ported sc1 factions (terran, protoss and zerg) would be brought in line balance wise with the sc2 ones and join the roster as fully playable, officially that is. They are distinct enough due to having access to a few unique units while lacking others. Guardians, scouts, arbiters, valkyries, firebats, etc. Was always hoping that we'd get hybrids (amon) as the 4th faction but that never happened.
Lol, P & Z would outright complain when Wraiths and their Mutalisk-tier of micro and wreaks havoc on their early game. Unlike Vikings, 2 Starport mass Wraith builds are viable nowadays.
@@reishiki8682 Can't Banshees kinda do the same thing? But like, does 3 times more damage. No AA for sure, but a Banshee and a Viking combined probably comparable to 2 wraiths.

ForGG's tank was only trapped because the armory he built was bigger than a supply depot--in Brood War they were exactly the same size. Sim city habits died hard!

I notice that BW Carriers don't work like authentic BW Carriers: in old BW, Carrier Interceptions once launched used to tail the Carrier if you moved them away (and recalled from a far further distance) meaning you could launch them all at once instead of slow launching every fight like here.
