Amon Amarth transitioned their visceral nature over the years from speed to cadence and timing. (nothing bad about that. But I think 2005-11 Amon is the peak of their imagery and style

Like an old friend you see every now and then(not in a creepy way, more of thats the best way i can express how there music makes me feel) iv listened to it when iv had the best times of my life and the worst, hell when i was homless for a while there CD's were on the top of the list of things i needed to keep safe. Im truly glad these guys blew up and i hope they keep killing it like they have been. I know whatever happens ill always be a fan. Kinda just venting emotional stuff atm sorry.

    • I respectfully disagree. I love their very first album (Once Sent from the Golden Hall) and I think that until "With Oden at our Side" (included) their material was solid, if not consistently great. Then it went downhill and now they seem to be on full "auto-mode": generic riffs, dumbed-down song structures, uninspired bland lyrics - not much death metal left in their sound at all. It's more like pop music with distorted sound and growls. Their old stuff is miles above this mediocre routine job.

Actually going on a rage in battle was looked down by real warriors because the rage was a way to overcome fear. The hole berzerkr rage is mostely a myth spread out by the survivors of viking raids to diabolise them.
