  • What a game! 46 goals in 64 games for Hyman with his hat trick, four points for Draisaitl, three for McDavid, a new career high in goals for Foegele, Skinner's 30th win, and Connor Brown has his first of the season!

People can say what they want about Hyman playing along side McDavid, but on the flipside Auston Matthews wouldn't have half his goal production if he wasn't playing alongside Mitch Marner 😋👍.

    • They've made the Conference Finals and Game 7 in the Second round in 2017 and and game 6 last year against Vegas. Ultimately lost to the Stanley Cup Champs 2 years in a row. Lost in the 1st round ONCE. Bruins Lost in the 1st round passed two years and the second two years before. Florida lost in the 1st 3 years in a row then the second then lost in the SCF last year. Avs Lost in the 1st then in the second 3 years in a row then won the cup then out in the 1st. Nashville lost in the 2nd and then in the 1st 4 years in a row. All president trophy winning teams recently. Lots of top teams don't go to the Conference or Stanley Cup finals. Stanley cup is the Hardest Trophy in sports to win. And anything can happen. Just ask the 8th seeded Oilers in 2006 when they went to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

  • As a Caps fan, this is not a shocking outcome. We are nowhere to be ready to compete with teams like Winnipeg and Edmonton (the 5-0 thrashing was despicable). After the Jets game, I said that game should shut up the Caps fans hoping for a playoff berth. This game is the nail in the coffin confirms that the Caps will not make the playoffs this year. We are entering the rebuild phase of the franchise. Seeing these lopsided losses in the future will be more commonplace over the next few years. I am okay with the fact that the Caps won't be in the playoffs to embarrass themselves either in a first (very likely) or second round (likely) exit.
