VERSE 1:
God of creation
There at the start
Before the beginning of time
With no point of reference
You spoke to the dark
And fleshed out the wonder of light
CHORUS 1:
And as You speak
A hundred billion galaxies are born
In the vapour of Your breath the planets form
If the stars were made to worship so will I
I can see Your heart in everything
You've made Every burning star
A signal fire of grace
If creation sings Your praises so will I
VERSE 2:
God of Your promise
You don't speak in vain
No syllable empty or void
For once You have spoken
All nature and science
Follow the sound of Your voice
CHORUS 2:
And as You speak
A hundred billion creatures catch Your breath
Evolving in pursuit of what You said
If it all reveals Your nature so will I
I can see Your heart in everything
You say Every painted sky
A canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You so will I
BRIDGE:
If the stars were made to worship so will I
If the mountains bow in reverence so will I
If the oceans roar Your greatness so will I
For if everything exists to lift You high so will I
If the wind goes where You send it so will I
If the rocks cry out in silence so will I
If the sum of all our praises still falls shy
Then we'll sing again a hundred billion times
VERSE 3:
God of salvation
You chased down my heart
Through all of my failure and pride On a hill You created
The light of the world
Abandoned in darkness to die
CHORUS 3:
And as You speak
A hundred billion failures disappear
Where You lost Your life so I could find it here
If You left the grave behind You so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You've done
Every part designed in a work of art called love
If You gladly chose surrender so will I
I can see Your heart
Eight billion different ways
Every precious one
A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I
TAG:
Like You would again a hundred billion times
But what measure could amount to Your desire
You're the One who never leaves the one behind
Words and Music by Joel Houston Benjamin Hastings & Michael Fatkin

I thought I've come to far from his grace but listening to this over and over again. "And as you speak a hundred billion failures disappear". Thank you Hillsong I cannot express my gratitude enough. • Yes yes YES!!!! Science declares the glory of the creator!!! You don't need to choose between God and science. God is the RULER of science. Creation declares his greatness. He is not confined by our puny logic, nor theories, nor laws that we are bound by. The CREATOR created this world and is not bound by it's restrictions. We are restricted in our thought capabilities. How great is the imagination of the one that created... and it gets better... the greatest... the king... the creator of EVERYTHING... loves you... wants to be part of every little bit of your life... every struggle every temptation every thought that runs through our mind... he wants to be part of it. Thank you Jesus- creator of the universe and my closest friend

God put it in my heart to give this stranger my lunch...I decided I would; pulling forward to pay, the manager said "we're having technical issues, your lunch is on us today." That's how God works, if we just listen and have the faith to act. He makes straight the paths.

  • this is the most special song ever. always struggled between believing in God and science. this just sums it all up. “all nature and science follow the sound of your voice.” this is it. God is real and the creator of all things; science being one of those things. i don’t have to be ashamed for my belief in both. Wow so much love for our God, his great mercies are new every day. Amen.

    • Amen! I completely agree with you. For so long I thought they were two separate tings, like most scientists and even christians do today. But, really, its the evidence, the message from God to His children, it's the gift of understanding our world around us that He's given us and so much more. It's even more beautiful when it comes together with His word and creates a clearly painted picture of our nature, our history, and our God.

Thank you Jesus- creator of the universe, and my closest friend

  • Been going through a lot lately, unfortunately. Decided to listen to some good ol' worship music while I was studying for one of my classes. I feel a sense of warmth knowing that there's a redeemer who is with us and for us in this story called, life. Sometimes it's hard to keep reminding yourself these things when your mind is being clouded and fogged up by the insecurities and trials of this world. I want to get better, dude - and become a better version of myself daily. I'm tired of feeling like a failure, like everything's crumbling down when all I need to do is look up and put my life in his hands. Though this sense of darkness may linger for a while, I will keep on marching forward, and know that there's a redeemer who will one day show me why I'm going through these not-so-hot times. Enjoy everyday of your life, guys. The little moments, the small victories, getting a breath of fresh air on a cool summer's night, having a cup of coffee, and building relationships with others can really go a long way. God bless you all, and know that you aren't alone!

He is the God who turns our mournings into dancings, our sorrows into joys. :D He's that God and the cross is always evidence to that. :D God bless you on your walk! • The song is so well written. It manages to tell the story from before the beginning all the way to Jesus, referencing all of time, the past, present and future. It connects all of creation together to Him, the animals, rocks, wind, mankind, everything. It connects science to God. The song points to who God is, followed by a declaration of action as a response, sung and written in humility and awe. All of this is wrapped into one song. How can one song do this?! It’s crazy, lol. Incredible and beautiful.
