My nephew would pull on his tail, his ears, and annoy him that anytime he came around or he heard his voice, my pooch would flash his teeth, growl, nip him, or actually bite him. They never randomly bit anybody or were unnecessarily aggressive except to the vet bc she was an asshole lol. If they did, a.) they didn’t your energy or vibes; b.) you did something to them like grabbed their ears, tail, etc. too hard; c.) fxcked with the grandkids.

      @payt00n@payt00n Жыл бұрын
    • @@payt00nthey’re talking about the fact that the owners are standing there filming and laughing instead of jumping in to correct the puppies behavior. They’re not wrong, I’m a vet tech who works alongside dog trainers, and I can promise you that it is an OWNERS job to teach a puppy manners, not an older dogs job. Todd was pulling so hard on Tuckers fur that it was literally still in his mouth when he let go, that hurts, so Tucker is not patiently and gently “correcting” Todd like everyone thinks, seems like Tucker is simply in pain and that is his reaction to get the pain to stop. If someone pulls your hair or bites you, you’re gunna turn around instinctively and respond quickly because it hurts, dogs are no diff. At that point, the owner should put down the phone and remove Todd or offer an escape to Tucker. In every scene Tucker is going about his day minding his own business, at one point he was behind the couch laying down just to get alone time, and yet here is the puppy, climbing all over him while the owner films. Offer playtime together, but give Tucker a break, they don’t always need to be with each other. Yes it’s okay to socialize them, but the owner needs to teach the puppy manners, that way the puppy respects her, so when they’re playing together (hopefully supervised), she can correct the puppy and the puppy will listen and it won’t be up to Tucker to handle the situation, because he’s not teaching, he’s just reacting. ANY dog is capable of snapping when they’re in an uncomfortable situation, especially if there’s no escape from it, any breed, doesn’t matter about personality or temperament, any dog. So yes, Tucker is tolerable, but Tucker is not his owner or his teacher, and everytime that puppy bites him, and the owner laughs, that just reinforces that behavior, because he’s taking his owner being happy as a reward and she seems happy when he’s biting him and misbehaving. Tucker needs to be offered an escape, and she needs to be working on commands and respect with that puppy separately, I know Todd is all grown up now, but I’m surprised that Tucker didn’t snap on him at some point. And I don’t even wanna hear “Todd is all grown up now and they’re doing just fine together, so clearly nothing went wrong”…..no, Tucker got over it because he was forced to get over it, he didn’t get to learn that puppy on his own terms, and I’m sure he spent months being in pain and uncomfortable until that puppy finally chilled out. The person you responded to literally used clear English with no grammatical errors so idk what was so hard to understand about what they commented.
